Keith Bate. I love Acarid WolfgangSpider, looking at me with her beautiful facette Eyelashes whiping my brows, jumping when I take to much to the trays. love Mosaicism spatial tempus
I love Agnes. I was going to see her in Toronto but the show was cancel. Lord she plays piano with her left hand. She is from another planet. I love her from my planet to Jupiter and back.❤️❤️🌹🌹
The album "Citizen of Glass" is an empathic journey that begins with a subtle presence gently absorbing ones essence, to cradle the spark of life at the core of ones being. The album holds the listener in a healing matrix well into the moments after the soft angelic tones of Agnes Obal’s voice slowly echoes into far off silence. I have the LP on repeat. The entire album is simply magical and pleases the senses like no other I have heard. An empathic experience not to be missed ~ World United Music - Favorite track: Mary.
I have been captivated by this artist after only listening to 'The Curse' once. Now I listen to her music and watch live videos often. Very talented individual, in fact, mesmerizing music and performances.
Thank you for all the music you make Agnes, just know you are helping someone through brutally unspeakable grief, in my dark world, the sound of your music is a much needed little light.
Heaven hid her face as we fell down Age old habits echoed in the ground One would sing and one would hold me down They might listen if I make no sound Oh I know this From my high school heart That nothing is over From a touch it will begin Wide on the sky In my house the silence rang so loud Under doorways, through the hallway down Waiting for the secret to grow out Oh what we do when no one is around Oh I know this From my high school heart That nothing is over From a touch it will begin Wide on the sky In the dark I hear you sing Fingers move and chords they ring Be the witness of my shame Swaying in the summer rain Feathers falling from your wing In the dark I hear you sing
That fadeout... Is the most eerily beautiful detail i have ever heard in a song. And for it to be the end of "Citizen of Glass"... ... simply touch of genius, Agnes
We come to this world. What should we do here? Well, at least, everyone should leave something beautiful, before he dissappears again.....Just like this wonderful artist! Thank you Agnes so much for this incredible beauty!!!
I wouldn't call Agnes' work underrated just because she's not mainstream. She's recognized by the right audience. I know this comment is from 4 years ago, and there was no DARK yet, and well, that helped a lot, right? Which makes me understand that great talent requires means to reach the audiences.
I suddenly porth something, when the melody ends, it is as defeaning ours loaded ego'es, psychology would never points something exactly like that, it is blood to blood the Serpent Element
OHMEGOSH I just heard this for the first time last night and it took me all this time to discover who it is and what the song is called - so hauntingly beautiful and magnetic. It sucks you in, the harmonies and just divine. Oh I cannot wait to listen to more.
Her voice is so calming I listen to her songs whenever I feel i want to change Thanks Agnes your songs motivates me to do more in life 29 August 6:10pm
Hayatımda dinlediğim en güzel parçalardan birisi. Melodisi çok farklı ve değişik. Sanki seni farklı bir yere götürüyor. Sanki melodilerle kendi betimlediği ütopik dünyasını anlatıyor. Neredeyse her gün dinliyorum.
I love Lisa Gerrard's music so much!! I don't know know how to describe it. Its like how when you listen to artist like Enya, Lisa Gerrard and Agnes Obel their vocals blend so well into the music like an echo, very atmospheric echo. Idk if this is a good description or not. 😌
@@iudexe3103 I love the last one also, a few tracks mostly, but now if she's doing a new one after that, I'm expecting to be more surprised by the approach :)
I only discovered this angel named Agnes Obel barely over a week past... now, as soon as one of her songs plays from this mix (London Grammar - Rooting For You (Live)), I automatically click the 'thumb up'... There hasn't been a song that I would even advance past, and not a single one I would consider un-clicking the 'thumb up.' They are all magical and mesmerizing. By the way, if you haven't listened to London Grammar, give 'em an ear. They, too, I found less than two weeks ago. Very different over all than Agnes but very good listening.
Yes very enjoyable and "Mary" came over very well ditto "The curse", Riverside etc. The gig reminded me of a London Grammar gig I Saw a few years ago : Quality songs sung beautifully (by Hannah Reid) and superb musicianship Well done to Agnes and "her girls" ps would have loved to have met her afterwards but it was too cold to hang around outside. pps nice to go to a gig where everyone was trying to film the gig on their phones !!
Keith Bate yes Mary was amazing.. but tbh it all was, like angels sent to bring sounds from another ethereal otherworld... I can't stop thinking how good it was. emotionally scarred lol.. mobile phone record? nothing like that at the front thank God
I was central front row circle.Only saw twp people with mobile phones. The audience was the oldest since I saw the Zombies around 10 years ago (no mobile phones that night) it was clear the gig was not sold out which is far more unusual these days. Live music seems to be more popular now than even 10+ years ago. Until relatively recently I always used to pay on the door. Wouldn't work nowadays ! ps Agnes surprised me with her wry sense of humour and comments. Would have loved to have seen her a few years ago in the Hare and Hounds pub (said she had played twice at that venue and really liked it) pps Awful support (IMO) the last track seemed to last longer than war and peace (lol)
In my house the silence rang so loud Under doorways, through the hallway down Waiting for the secret to grow out Oh what we do when no one is around* I think it's a question
I get the inspiration of a forbidden love/relationship kind of vibe from this song personally. Perhaps it's a one sided relationship, maybe it's no strings attached, maybe they come from families that forbid them to be together because they're bad for each other or are believed to be bad. Maybe someone is having an affair, hence only meeting/keeping it in the dark where no one can see them. Maybe it's a taboo kind of relationship, something not accepted by modern society. When she sings about hearing them sing, I imagine she's talking about their voice speaking or moaning in the dark and the feathers from angel wings are their hair brushing against them. Idk.. It could be anything really. Either way it feels very solemn and sad, being guilt ridden. They sound very lonely.
Just keep wondering the meaning of the words. It really gives the feeling of something delicate got fractured and defiled by something dark, but nevertheless I might be totally wrong. "Heaven hid her face as we fell down" / "One would sing and one would hold me down", do I even dare to ask what happened there.
@@verajasmijnart she didn't explain it specifically, she just said she was inspired by her friend's story, maybe her friend told a romantic story to her
From her interview "Like the song “Mary” is about a secret, a really bad secret. The song about guilt and sin and love and secrets we all carry around in our intimate relationships. Sometimes I feel like the closer you are with somebody the more guilty you feel towards them. Just like not really listening to what they’re saying or family or your partner. I don’t know if its specific based on cultures but I feel like a lot of the way our love and relationships are regulated with guilt. [People] feel guilted and that’s why you do stuff. I would love it not to be but we never talk about it. There’s all these secrets and people control each other with this guilt. I did that and you do that and I just feel like it’s an unspoken secret between lovers and people who care about each other, that we feel guilty and we control each other with it."
The change of the melody at 3.03 is giving me the chills every time. What an artist!
Watersnakes II Literally the best part
It's wonderfully beautiful ! What a song !
So true about the change. So beautiful it brings tears, for what I don't know.
Nothing gets out of my head that this song was written by James for Mary in Silent Hill 2. Incredible!
Dude I’m deadass making a Silent Hill collage en and I came to this song for inspiration!
"In the dark I hear you sing."
Brilliantly beautiful.
if my life was a movie this song should play when I die...
the new album really captures the mood of late Autumn and early winter. A feeling of beautiful melancholy around her spidery lyrics.
I feel the same way. I picture myself in my best outfit walking as the leaves fall.

it's true...
Dpnt say that she make it teal ahhh run away run away
It's amazing how a simple change to the key/melody at 3:02 divides the song into two parts that together creates the most
mesmerizing chilling feel
the best fade-out....ever!
So true. Pure beauty

100 percent agree!!!
One of my favorite new songs. I've been listening to the new album on repeat for days.
The melody at 3:02... Is one of the most beautiful end for an album e-ver !
Deeply agree with you 💞
yes, somehow makes think of someone floating off forever alone into space. Like when the astronaut dies in the Martian.

Heaven hid her face as we fell down
Age old habits echoed in the ground

Oh I know this
From my high school heart
That nothing is over
From a touch it will begin
Wide on the sky

Under doorways, through the hallway down
Waiting for the secret to grow out
Oh what we do when no one is around
Oh I know this
From my high school heart

Wide on the sky
In the dark I hear you sing
Fingers move and chords they ring
Be the witness of my shame
Swaying in the summer rain
Feathers falling from your wing
In the dark I hear you sing
Such a beautiful song, I'm in love with it, already. Thank you so much for the lyrics.
Beautiful indeed.

Untouched by greedy modern influence and totally pure. Haunting and full of grace

De longe uma das minhas artistas preferidas. A forma como ela sabe trabalhar o instrumental e o seu vocal deixa tudo tão indescritível. 🤍
This is a beautiful song which deliver some deep meanings about the loss of privacy.
I`m moved. Agnes Obel is such a beautiful soul, it shows in her music.
There is great beauty in the sadness of this song, and it even gets better in the second half when the melody changes, and fades away in the end.
A really underrated artist, but I regognize her talent, and that's sufficient to me
I find her art mystical and I am grateful I found out about her.
she got many awards. don't worry. so happy for her.

I used to think there was no good music made on the last decade. If it wasn’t for her I might still believe that. One of the best of all time imho.
That outro... so captivating. Beautiful song, amazing production. I feel like I'm sitting inside the piano she's playing...
Thank you.
Thank you so much, I am very grateful for this, what a beautiful soul.
Thank you.
Greatest song I've ever heard in my life.
This song is perfect. Echoes sound like to be flying to heaven.
Completely agree. 💚
I have no idea what this song is about but it doesn't matter. It's hypnotic.
The lyrics are always open for interpretation, but I believe they might be about some form of abuse... I might be wrong.
