Thanks for spelling it out regards masculinity, in ex army & was injured when I was overseas plus my mental issues alone have kept me locked in my house for over 8 years. I’m gonna claim my car & I’ve checked & I’m eligible and will be using it to go on some long trips. NOTE I’ve been told for 2024 you get £750 grant to put to an advance payment or motability will send you the cash if you don’t use it.
No problem, I am happy to help. Long trips are great incentives to leave the house. I too am going on one when I get my new car. The payment you are referring to is called the "New Car Payment" 👍
For me the scheme is a lifeline, due to really I’ll health for years got into debt my good credit rating got trashed, I cannot afford trains but can use my mobility scooter on them, get free bus travel but cannot take my mobility scooter on the bus so it’s pointless. You can only extend the lease if it has less than 10,000miles over 3 years. I believe after March 2024 you get an additional £750 towards your upfront payment. Best option for me stress free motoring
@@Max.Robinson ok, I’m due to start looking for next lease from end of May and my Mother-in law is due to start looking in January she didn’t know any thing about it until I mentioned it last Sunday 👍
As you don’t get the car after 3 year lease do you think it’s better to get a loan and buy instead. I’m concerned if they stop the disability and I’m left with no car. Plus I lose all my no claims.
As a rule of thumb I personally don't think getting a loan is a good idea. I would rather save the money until I have the option to buy the car (or whatever the purchase is) outright. Each to their own though 👍
As long as the named driver is using the car for your benefit they are allowed to drive it. Take a look at the "Who can drive for you" section on the Motability website. Hopefully this helps you 👍 www.motability.co.uk/get-support/during-your-lease/cars-wavs/named-drivers/
I received my girst motability car on friday tomorrow. Iam still very cautious by this as i have never been in dept and my mortgage is payed . The one thing i worry about is that if i die in the meantime my wife doesnt get stuck in dept or left eith a car she cant afford to keep paying . I do have fears until i get in to agroove with this . But at the minute iam a littel excited abouthaveing a car eith a wheel chair hoist.
For financial advice I would suggest talking to Motability to confirm that the plan is right for you. Feeling excited about the freedom that the car will bring you is natural. I hope you enjoy it
Hi, I receive PIP, Motability take all of the money I receive for the "Mobility" part of the benefit. I found this on their website regarding DLA: www.motability.co.uk/how-it-works/allowances/dla/ I hope this helps 👍
Hi Martine, I found this quote on the Motability website: "You can exchange all or part of your mobility allowance, but for most of our vehicles you’ll need to use all of it." They may be able to depending on your circumstances. I found this on their website, I hope it helps 👍 www.motability.co.uk/get-support/faqs/learn-to-drive-in-my-vehicle/
Too many people abuse this scheme. They get s vehicle through motability and then let family members use it every day for work and at weekends. They probably only go in the vehicle once a week if that. Totally wrong.

You are exempt from road tax if you receive enhanced mobility payment regardless of using the scheme or not, not sure about the other benefits though.
Thanks for sharing 👍

Hello there wanted to ask if I do apply for mobility scheme does that stop dla weekly payment? Or will they still be ongoing?

I found this on their website regarding DLA:

Can I park in a disabled bay?
I don't have a blue badge, as I have never been on the scheme.
As far as I am aware, you need a blue badge to park in a disabled bay
@@Max.Robinson oh thanks, I did hear you say you can park on a single yellow. How does that work?
@@theybanthetruth4955 If you display the blue badge and the correct time on the clock, you can park on regular single yellow lines for 3 hours

Does all the pips go on the lease
