I was lucky enough to have seen Hawkwind many times but best was Stonehenge 84. The black hash everywhere everything we all went completely astral. It'll never happen again so it was very special.
I'm a long time Hawkwind fan and as much as I like Dave Brock I just always feel the band was better with Bob. Hawkwind with Bob was Always better than without.
First time I saw Nik Turner was at the Gaumont and he swooped around the stage on roller skates in some line green body stocking and I thought "what does this pratt think he"s playing at?" then he started playing his sax and I thought oh, I'm the pratt.
please release the 1978 hawklords uxbridge footage that you own, we fans deserve to see this, please cherry red, so many fans have died in the years you have had this that would have loved to see it
So many incarnations of Hawkwind.. this is such a fantastic tune, Brock doesn't lead very often but when he does it just blows your mind. What a voice. Bridget Wishart is the only vocalist that got close.. in my opinion. (My opinion means no more than yours) Hippy Slags forever. ❤

25 years on was the best thing they did. New wave more than anything else. A great concept for the tour, could have been a great dystopian movie or novel
Went to this show, got the train from Norwich these guys were brilliant. This was the best song by miles. Support act was some awful band called Bronze. Great memories of Hawkwind as they ended their urban trail blazing era, in my view their best output 75-84. Regards to you all.
I started seeing Hawkwind from '85! Too young to have seen them earlier, but for me they're always worth seeing, never a bad gig. As for support acts, I don't think I've ever enjoyed one with the exceptions of Krel and Spacehead.

I've met Nik twice. Once a few years back when I was on the sound desk, and again a couple of years ago when he was with Hawklords. He comes across as a really lovely guy.
84 was my first gig when they played Hull City Hall on the Earth Ritual tour. 52 gigs later still my best gig - The Awakening moment. 2nd best is a toss up between 3 on a 3 sided coin - Hawkestra at Brixton (an honour & priveledge to have got a ticket), the festival at Mildenhall Speedway track when Bridgette was singing (up-grading from having loads of resin to no resin but damn fine Acid in the company of some people from Scotland around a fire) & Reading in '80 something just after Black Sword came out (friends for lfe made that weekend).
This story sounds familiar!! Great times was at 84 hull and reading think it was 86 /87 ? Levitation was my favourite tour1980 with ginger baker on drums .
I always said Clive was the best drummer Orkwind ever had. This clip reinforces that. Such a shame he didn't last long (well, this is Hawkwind after all!). There was a period when The Hawks seemed to have a new drummer every month. The playing and energy here is top-notch. Brock's choppy riffs are immense. Nik added the secret ingredient to the Hawkwind recipe: CHAOS. They were at their best when Turner was with 'em. The song is, of course, written by the one-and-only Robert Calvert - a right loony...er, I mean a true genius!
GINGER BAKER was hawkwind's best drummer by far....but in true ginger style....he started kicking off with harvey bainbridge and brock.... Richard Chadwick....is next best....
I remember saying to everyone at The Venue in Glasgow before this tour that they MUST go and see Hawkwind. After the concert they came up to me and said ' You actually like this?'. I didn't know where to look...a real embarrassment.
When I was about 14, I went to see Hawks at West Bay, but Iwas caught riding the train from Trowbridge to Weymouth without a ticket. I told the rail Police my name was Huw Lloyd Langton, and got away with it.
