Interesting that stress is a factor in skin cancers, including melanoma, as they are associated with immune system function. I erupted with 3 sites of melanoma during a very stressful period, one that I hope no one else would ever have to go through. That was five years ago and the stress is gone: so far, so are the melanomas.

Thank you very much for this episode! As a very fair-skinned person (considered albino) I do have AKs on the tops of my hands and arms, but haven't yet had any skin cancer (and I'm in my early 60s). I suspected the WFPB, especially greens were helping with this, and just recently learned about niacinamide but wanted to know more. I take a B complex (mostly for the B12), but will definitely now add 500 mg of niacinamide as well. Thanks again for all you do - it really makes a difference!

How do we learn the best niacinamide to take such as a specific brand?

Wonder the difference between niacinamide b3 in a regular multi we already take vs this RCT other than dosage (100mg vs 1g)

Thank you Dr. Greger! Could you make a video on the misinformation going around about seed oils causing cancer (Dr. Siegel is promoting it…). The actual medical journal article (in Gut) doesn’t mention seed oil and it discusses omega 6 imbalance. Please set the record straight if you have time in your very scientific way. (I personally feel a competing industry has an interest in spreading the misinformation, just a guess🤷‍♀️).

Consuming oils (from seeds or otherwise) will lead to cancer as part of a high fat diet. Canola or sesame oil, etc. is not a health food. Whole ground flax is.

Nutrition made simple made an amazing video on the topic.

You can be vegan with healthy oils like olive oil and coconut oil. You dont have to become a shill for big agra just for the sake of opposing everything carnivores say online.

I wonder if nicotinamide would work on dsap, which is a less common type of porokeratosis that's genetic (thanks Mom). None of the other creams I was prescribed helped. And I'd much rather try something all natural.

@jjjames6894 Thanks for that comment. I will order some nicotinamide this weekend and try to remember to report back after I try it for a while. I have been taking a B complex a few times a day, but regular niacin supplementation doesn't seem to help me.

My brother died at 50 from a melanoma although he wasn't a person who ever had beach holidays. But the only fruits or vegetables he ate were bananas or potatoes ever since he was a kid.

I think its dangerous to promote this extreme diet as a medical "fact".

Extreme diet? You mean the diet that covers all essential nutrients and reverses most of the diseases coming from bad nutrition while saving animals and the environment?

oh alright, i'll add this vid to my playlist to play in a little while. i only watch these for the comedy.
in a recent dr boz video, she pointed out the time when she'd only been reading the papers that echoed back her prejudices, and that a colleagues' disagreement and prescribing a fat stack of homework to read papers that disagreed, served her well. methinks this chap can benefit from the same diligence in looking beyond established biases and presumptions and reflexive cherry picking.

Methinks if you want to challenge the information provided in this video you should post your links to the contrary. Put up or shut up.

@@jakkidiamond7432 intentionally abusing cunningham's law with all those fallacies? (at a glance, appears, roughly, a dense mash of whataboutism, notevenwrong, dismissive, missingthepoint, demanding, beggingthequestion, strawman, moving goalposts, ignoratioelenchi, tuquoque, myopism, hypocrisy, and a false dillema ultimatum of closing the argument... ) ... and given that this is longer, abuse of brandolini's law too? heh. perhaps the intentions were innocent, and the errors made in naivety. ... or insecure narcissism?
did start well with "methinks if", but, nope, what followed was as if had not read what i wrote.
      communication style mismatch fail?
was my point so completely lost, in some emotional disruption of cognition, from some social/status tripwire my autism is oblivious to?
methinks try read what i wrote, not what you wrote between my lines in your imagination. ... and or get scrutinising your psyche and epistemology, if not already, and if already, carry on refining, and enjoy all the pointers.
and thanks... if i want to do that, i will, but, that's not what was happening here. heh.
      thnx, that was fun. ;P
      mendwards! :D
