- ‘We’ve always been drawn to the crossover between cinematic storytelling and dance, so creating Coppélia with Scottish Ballet has allowed us to take this to another level. The film on stage will cut between live capture and pre-recorded footage - but the audience won’t necessarily know which is which.’ - Jessica Wright and Morgann Runacre-Temple (Jess and Morgs), Directors and Choreographers of #SBCoppelia
Come with us behind the scenes of our thrilling new production Coppélia, where Jess and Morgs tell us about the adaptations they made to the classical ballet and how they paired this with film and technology.

This is amazing! And it should be garnering way, way more attention. Updating the story of Coppélia through the modern day lens of tech tycoons, and even incorporating the camera work into the choreography is genius. It’s already been a year and I only just came across this. Scottish Ballet are on it! They are doing stuff that actually helps modern day audiences, who may not be as engaged with the themes of traditional repertoires, to actually connect with ballet in new and exciting ways. Royal in London and Birmingham aren’t remotely close to incorporating innovative ideas like this. 👏👏👏
Thank you! 💚
This is f**king brilliant.
Saw this at Sadlers Wells tonight. So good 👏👏
Saw this in Glasgow last Saturday and it was amazing. You could hear a pin drop, everyone was so engrossed.
Saw this last night in Glasgow, absolutely loved it.
This is so cool! I wish I could see it in the US

Scottish Ballet:as I wrote before this ballet sounds great.do you have it available on your channel in a full length version? If you have the time can you reply please.
As a lifelong balletmane this- as you might say -"Post modern" version of Coppelia sounds great but after today I will avoid looking at the "stranger danger" in the TH-cam comments sections from now on.
I would like the ballet to return to normal soon I would like to see a great piece of scottish ballet again
