Sir sonna calculation VERY VERY WRONG even according to traditional FIRE calculation (which itself is wrong in the first place). Let me explain.
1. Sir sonna madiri 20x to 30x corpus, and 5% returns, spend the return.
2. Then, what about inflation? At 7% inflation the price of goods doubles every 10 years. So if you follow this model after 190 years you can afford only half your expenses, and another 10 years only a quarter if your expenses. This is absolutely the wrong way to go.
3. The answer is instead of that we should aim for 9% returns and withdraw only 3% from that, keeping the other 6% in the invested corpus, so that it kind of keeps up with inflation or erodes very slowly, lasting a lifetime (40-50 year span). To get that 9% return we need a balance of equity and debt with as much diversifcication as possible.
4. In America the FIRE advocates talk about 4% withdrawal rate. But even in America the financial experts disagree with the FIRE community on this. Because, the Trinity study which showed a 4% probable sustainability was done for a 30-year retirement, not a 40-year or 50-year retirement. If you retire at 35 and run out of money at the age of 65, what will you do after that?
