I have a 2019 20th Anniversary Edition w/ 160,000km and really wanted to trade it in for a Tribute Edition, but every dealership marked up their lightly used models $60k+ CDN. Very lightly used (12,000km), I paid 39k CDN for mine back in 2020.
They're probably hoping it'll become a collectors item. Its possible, but I doubt they'll be worth much more than a regular Stinger down the road. I personally love the facelift, but wouldn't bother with the tribute. A regular GT with suede like the one we had as our long-term unit.
I love everything about the Stinger except the rear tail light design :( Especially how it tapers off at the edges, I wish it was a bit "sharper" in design somehow. Still one of the best cars ever created
I own a GT2 w/Scorpion Package and my hope is that the 600whp+ extended range Stinger replacement is true - and I hope it comes with some sort of range extender. What I'd LOVE to see Kia do is put a flex fuel turbine range extending generator in the car because turbines are true flex fuel, the sound cool, and they're very lightweight and compact so a tiny turbine can run a very stout generator. Because of the future collectible potential of this car, any mods I am making are 100% reversible. I haven't done the brake snip mod because I want to try to source the connectors the ECU and ECU cable use, so I can build a harness with a switch so I can enable or disable the ECU brake sensor line, but make it completely reversible. I hate cutting wire harnesses.
That's the plan! We’d love to hit 50k by the end of the year, we’ve each got a busy schedule of vehicles booked so more content will be coming your way 😁
Just one week away from our 4 night trip Fort Bragg CA in our 2020 stinger GT line with sun and sound option...Reno to the COAST! Ok a bit excited! At just 35,200 miles and love the 36 MPG on the highway! Thx guys!
Almost 50k subs! Congrats guys!!! I started following the channel when I was looking for my G70 and you had less then 2k subs. Now I have both the G70 and the Stinger. Changed my wife's RAV4 on a used Kia Stinger because she only wanted to drive mine 😂😂😂
That’s awesome! Can’t go wrong with either, the G70 is a great car also, the facelift looks so sharp. We’re hoping to hit 50K subscribers soon, things have been ticking up this month so maybe by the end of the year!
Never knew they made a "Tribute edition"! It looks like the USA received 440 of them. We have a "GT Elite" aka "GT2" which came from Canada. Its got a few things that differ from its USA counterpart but it sure is NICE!
I don't think Kia did a good job marketing this vehicle overall, I don't remember seeing anything about the Tribute Edition in marketing, just the vehicles we had access to on the press fleet. It was a nice way to send off such a great car.
I know how you feel! Before moving here we used to film in a small town in Québec with a population about 1/10th the size of St. Thomas, but I found a random video filmed there once.
It'll depend on how the market reacts to it overall. I'm not sure if an enthusiast (individual or group) has started a database of the 1000 Tribute models to track them, but once they've left dealership lots the resale value could go either way. Personally I don't see the Tributes increasing in value over their MSRP, while they're special within the Stinger production they aren't vastly different than the GT Elite we had, so chances are they'll be worth a bit more over the non-tribute models in the resale market, but should depreciate at the same rate as the Stingers have up until now.
US MSRPs have been included in our videos since February 1, 2021, you'll notice for both trims we have the Canadian and US pricing listed. We also convert L/100km to US MPG when doing our fuel economy testing. General rule of thumb, 62mph is 100 kph. That's typically the only time we mention speed.
This spring, I was looking at replacing my 2014 BMW 3 series sedan because wanted something newer with better creature comforts like heated steering wheel and android auto and something more practical because my bike didn't fit in the trunk of the BMW even with the wheels removed. I was comparing the Stinger to BMW 4 series gran coupe, Audi A5 sportback and Volvo V60(because I love wagons). I didn't even entertain the idea of an SUV or crossover. I found a good deal on a used 2021 Stinger with only 21k km at a Kia dealership. I picked the Stinger because at the same price I got more power, the BMW and Audi only had I4 vs the V6 of the Stringer. Also the Stinger has great tech like lane centering and radar cruise control which is great for long distance drives. Not as spacious as the Volvo V60 but still good enough to fit my bike and I was able to help a friend move a 78 inch tall bookshelf. I'm also hoping that since it's a Kia that maintenance and repair won't be as expensive as the european cars. I did a trip from Montreal to Toronto and back with the Stinger this summer and it was great. Overtaking was easy and fun and just cruising with lane centering and radar cruise made driving more relaxing.
@@will.photography I admit that i miss those driving assist features with heavy Montreal traffic. I bought a used CPO 3 series a couple weeks ago and it’s the best car I’ve ever driven. That being said, as I mentioned, I miss those traffic assist features I had when I was driving an iD4 recently. Ultimately though, I find myself ok to give up some of these features for strong Bavarian sentiments 😂
To buy, absolutely would go Stinger. Maintenance and repairs will be lower long term than with even a non mid-performance 43-Series AMG/M Performance car. Plus the new C-Class is all screen, I much prefer the interior layout of the Stinger.
@@PRNTestDrive have to agree with you on that. While I was waiting to have my first CEL checked on my 3 series, I sat in the new one and absolutely hated the all touchscreen layout. You have to go up to a 5 series now if you want buttons lol
@karimbulldogs1435 it’s why I bought my 2013 S-Class, the newer ones have way too much screen. My C and S-Classes are the perfect mix of modern and classic
The last, the most efficient 2023-2024 Kia Stinger Tribute 3.3 Twin Turbo V6 AWD model should have an active cylinder support system or else just optimize and adjust the engine more, reduce curb weight (using high strength steel or magnesium, more carbon fiber) to make the curb weight 50-100 kilos lower. Because the fuel consumption is absolutely unreasonably high!!.😡
I didn't find the Stinger's fuel consumption any higher than my 2013 Mercedes-Benz C 300, and that's just a regular 3.5L V6 without any turbos. Depends on how you drive it I suppose.
It certainly was, and will go down as a classic. I just expect many of them are going to get beaten over the next 5 years, meaning anyone holding onto a clean, unmodified version may be able to cash in down the road.
This was so cool to make and it couldn't of worked out better! I hope you all enjoy as much as we do!
Gives us some great experience in doing a video like this, there will definitely be room to film some episodes of TestDrive Showdown moving forward!

I got a 2022 kia stinger gt2 scorpion edition in ceramic sliver and i love it.

I have a gt2 2022 with all in Alcantara, and I love it. KDM rules.
Enjoy it!

Thanks for sharing! We’ll have to see what plans Kia may have for this nameplate.
I like THIS dual-driver format, too! You folks are gonna quickly blast through 50K and move on to 100K if you keep innovating on your channel! Aloha.

@PRNTestDrive i agree
Luckily I managed to find it and bought a 2019 in good condition. Later, looking calmly, I'll exchange it for a 23 GT2 AWD ceramic silver, very new 🤙
Glad to hear it, hold onto it if you can!
I live in St thomas, cool seeing videos from my home town

Love the videos, one thing that would be nice would be converting to MPH and the prices in American dollars for American viewers like me. Thanks!

When comparing to the German brands, and if money were not a factor, would you still choose the stinger?

How could Chia kill a perfect and desired jewel like this, how...?😢
Everything has to end at some point, that's what gives it meaning.

$57K for a Kia? 😂…ridiculous!
You should try it out before you judge it based on sticker price.
No. Kia should have produced a more realistic vehicle cost for the perception of their brand🤔 Perhaps the car would have actually sold!
You have no clue. 2020 3.3 tt panthera metal stingergt2 ❤
Got mine for 52,000......80,000 miles and runs great 👍 one problem is it tears up tires 😅😅😅😅
😂 Sure it does…this tank of a vehicle. I don’t see many, but gap everyone I’ve ever raced 🥴…badly!
