Is the check engine light on? If so, the first thing i would do is check for codes. If the iac valve or any electronic fuel system part has a problem it will throw a code. If no check engine light it could only really be bad fuel or compression loss
Well done both it’s well worth trying and a good job to try flushing the tank still wonder if it’s a sensor or idle control valve looks like the new fuel is helping but something is stopping the idling hope you are both keeping well Daniel
Loving the Johnny 5 references. Hey Lazerlips, yer momma was a snowblower. Still one of my favourite films ever. Good progress made. As you say, draining the tank and cleaning it and associated gubbins is a good thing to do anyway, even if it hasn't fixed the problem. Looking forward to the next installment. Have you still got the China Blue auto or has she been rehomed?
It's one of my childhood fav's - thanks for watching China Blue is still here - plan is to get it up and running and shining, sell and use to fund the museum micra and this project :)
Let’s hope idle control valve universal across both engines. And can still get fuel filler neck. Meant to ask if it has a fuel light. Accident repair Micra courtesy car didn’t in 2000 for my Dad. Think you know where this heading…..
The coilpacks do go on these. It is a very easy swap. I'd start there. Because I have two of these very model, I have to know what caused this now.🤣.lol.. Good luck..
It could be a zillion things. The first thing to do is really to drop the tank from the underneath of the car & drain it completely regardless. Then I would change the spark plugs, HT leads etc possibly change the injectors. After 10 years most things will be perished with age.
I removed 25 litres of petrol from an Audi TT that had been sat for about 4 year's funny how it goes Orange. It would start the car but run lumpy. It kept cutting out wouldn't idle put revs to it and it was fine it only has 40thousand on it and its a w reg so its 24 year old it was taken of the road. Because the father wanted to keep it for his daughter when she passed her test. It's good to see the Micra coming along nicely 😊.
@@JonCoupland I also put a bottle of Miller's fuel treatment in the old TT that made it run superb. If think it got rid of the varnish that old petrol leaves behind.
@@JonCoupland there's not much else to rattle only it might need a timing chain tensioner or kit mine was missing all the time until I replaced the head valve's new spark plugs made no difference I had to remove the head and replace the head valve's while I was that far I bought a good expensive timing chain kit water pump and oil pump now it can sneak up on people so silent
Is it not possible to syphon the fuel via the filler? Does it have anti syphon flaps? My parents k11 has been sat parked up for 9 years so I also need to drain the tank.
Potentially able to be done but we wanted to check the pump and and debris in the tank at the same time. This may end up being just as easy in the end ☺️ fingers crossed for your project
Silicone and petrol are not good bed fellows. Do you not remember the fuel gate scandel!? When tanker companies were using the same vehicle to transport liquid silicone and petrol.
Been there with a K11 water in the bottom of the tank caused the pump to rust after a been off the road for 10 years. Good news is that loads of pumps fit I've got a Bosch one from a vauxhall Astra it was a tenner brand new from that eBay where as the Micra one was 65 quid but both have the same Bosch part number.

No engine light. No codes. 👍

Fuel filler neck now on order :) - Yes there is a fuel light from what i can remember - oh dear!
I love these videos so much keep posting!!!
Cheers 👍😁 will do
It be good idea to change the coils on top of the plugs 👍
So far so good 😊

You are right 👍😊 check out the latest video for an update 😁
Great progress, guys 💪🏼😀
Thank you 🙌

Yeah - wonder what makes it go wrong!?
@@JonCoupland I think it's the ethanol I believe it absorbs water. I could be wrong but I think that's what it is being that E5 has Ethanol in it.🤔😀
@@JonCoupland I also put a bottle of Miller's fuel treatment in the old TT that made it run superb. If think it got rid of the varnish that old petrol leaves behind.
Great work so far. Are those alloy wheels original from when the car was new? Don't think I have them on a Micra before.
Yes they are genuine OEM ones that came with the model 😊
Timing chain tensioner 👍
She's a bit noisy but that isn't the issue 😊👍

It might need a good drive to clear out the cylinders
I reckon that would certainly help it

@@JonCoupland Many thanks! I'll give that a go 😀
Did you change the fuel filter (if there is one)?
It has been changed 😊👍
Hardly the chain ⛓️ is stretched did you do a oil change
Updates are coming 😊👍
Sounds like an old truck with that idle!
Doesn't it!
So on a Nissan micra sport, what did you get to make it a sport?
Good question! Alloy wheels, Different side mouldings, Colour coded everything (apart from door handles weirdly) - Spoiler
@@JonCoupland so mainly just a appearance package, certainly looks better all colour coded, did the sport get the 1.4 engine then?
Is the welding already done?
Not yet - these are older videos that we are only now releasing :) - updates to come

I do not recall that no
if you dont try you never know
That's exactly right 👍

Thankfully the pump seems ok 😁👍
Spoil sports .......did anti syphon flaps 🙈
Ha!
