Loved the Taiwan video mate,it's amazing how much the right soundtracks can elevate your videos, excellent job 👍👏👏
Thanks very much! Yeah 95% of travel vlogs just throw on some tropical house or bland background music that makes the videos so dull.
This itinerary pretty much covers the majority of decent places but I would advise anyone coming to Taiwan to not miss out Tainan, it is probably the best city in here in my opinion, bit of a shame Karl skipped it, but he can be let off. I agree with him about not bothering with Dulan. All in all this is a good two week itinerary.
thanks so much for these videos! doing a solo trip there for the first time next month and this has been extremely helpful!!!
I am inspired by your excellent video to plan my next trip in Taiwan. Appreciate a lot.
More great tipps for my upcoming trip in April to Taiwan. Thanks again man!! Marcus, Hamburg
I live in Taiwan and started making videos myself because it is an amazing place. So many westerners come here and fall in love with it. You did the generic tourist things that most people do when they visit Taipei. There is so much more to Taipei and Taiwan. Glad you enjoyed your trip. Hope you can visit again someday :)
You did a really great job!謝謝分享, thanks a lot for sharing! 👍😄👏
Karl Watson your every tripe of visits are awesome 👍❤❤❤
Nice video and thanks for sharing your trip!
By the way, the train ticket you bought from Kaoshiung was for a local train, which does not require reservations because all local train seats are not numbered. You probably intended to buy tickets for an express train, which is faster and more expensive. Only when the reserved seats on an express train are sold out will the machine start selling "standing tickets" (same price as reserved seats but no actual seats). It is not allowed to take an express train using a local train ticket, but navigating the public transport is not always easy! Everything will be fine as long as the passengers ask to pay the price difference at first sight of the ticket inspectors.
When I went to ROC TAIWAN, I really felt excited because I like this country.
Brutal, so many things just didnt work out..hope it means you'll visit again 😅. Thanks for the video! Taiwan numba 1
感謝您!真是超棒的分享
覺得越來越多外國朋友超厲害,自己都沒去那麼多的地方,謝謝您們
Really helpful to move wish list towards reality! Thanks!
Thank you for the amazing video! I'm so glad you had a wonderful time here. Hope to see you back in Taiwan again!
hi! i really loved your travel film and the itinerary breakdown. Planning my own trip to taiwan right now and wanted to ask if you booked the hostels in advance or on the spot? really excited for a new adventure!
Thanks. Arrived yesterday.
very useful infomation
Keep the vids coming mate. How about one of your top 50/30/10 countries you've been to etc
They’re so hard to rank though cos you enjoy different places for different reasons 🤔
Very true
Awesome video Karl and thanks so much for the shout-out of our Taiwan website ❤
Sooooo good, thank you 🙏🏼
Wonder if you would have done the same itinerary if you wouldn't be shooting?
Solid videos as always! Wouldn't expect anything less as it's your trade :-) your videos stand out! Working in Industry I do appreciate your effort and the end result 👌 respect
Cheers! Yeah I'd do the same itinerary if I wasn't shooting. Always try to make the itinerary fit to what I like, because doing stuff I enjoy comes off way better on camera than stuff other people may think you're "supposed" to do / see.
If the weather had been on my side on this trip it would've been a lot more hiking / nature based.
🙂💙👍Thank You Karl looking forward to Watching You and James in Your next Awesome Adventure🙂Wishing You Safe Travels from NB Canada 🙂💙👍
I love it soo much
Did you have Yuli noodles while in Yuli? Local specialty sold by several noodle shops in the center of town. Delicious!
thanks Karl
Happy to see you take a best trip film in my country -Taiwan. I can't wait to see you discover New Zealand where I currently live now.😊
Thank you for introducing my home country to the world!
8:21 I think you can get a reserved seat by the ticket machine only 30 minutes before the train goes off.
Thank you for liking Taiwan
Amazing video yet again thank you 😊
You’re welcome 😊

welcome to Taiwan 😀 next time

Hey Karl, do you think that staying at nice hotels, eating at nice restaurants, dressing nicely, and taking cars instead of busses, etc. interferes with having an adventure? In other words, is "roughing it" a pre-requisite to having an adventure? I mean, I bloody worked hard to save and invest and I'd like to enjoy it, but not if I'd actually be doing myself a disservice.
Roughing it is definitely not a pre-requiste to an adventure.
First of all, what makes something an "adventure" is defined by the person taking the adventure.
For example, first time I went backpacking in Australia it was a HUGE adventure, now I've been there several times, it's more of a holiday for me going back there. Does that mean it's not an adventure for another first time backpacker going there? Absolutely not.
Secondly, there's nothing wrong with treating yourself on your trip. It's your time, it's your money, spend it how you like, don't worry about what others are doing.
There's no reason why you can't do both as well, stay at a nice hotel, get a first class seat on the train, eat at high-end restaurants, but then you can also get some street food on one of the other meals of the day as well.
But yeah, I hate any kind of "hierachy of travel" mentality, as if one is more "worthy" than another. Do what makes you happy and enjoy your trip :)
Hey where is louk nowadays.. we met in Malaysia ❤ in 2023.. take him too in your travels vlogs etc
I’ll be meeting up with Luke in New Zealand
