In this video, I go on a retrospective review Zhu Yuan with the latest and greatest data we have at our disposal. The data is... well, hearsay for now and some general polling I did on you guys but it does reveal quite a few things that I think is worth enough to make a video about it. After all - we gotta see for ourselves why do people keep saying Zhu Yuan has the best bakery in town.

I was already playing Nicole on other teams as she's just a great overall unit so I don't see a problem here.
@@kamicokrolock she's really flexible and very strong. The most important part is that there's no STRONGEST team comp for Zhu rn so it'll benefit Zhu havers in the long term esp if ether element already has an S-rank Support, Stunner and Anomaly agents. We only have A-rank support Nicole as of now beside her and she's already this strong. I wonder how strong mono ether will be? Can they dethrone mono Ice? Interesting so far.
@@remchwanzhu yuan nicole ether anomaly buildup is pretty fast now already. So i assume a mono ether would make it better. I can see them adding an ether anomaly character to round a mono ether comp.
@@Spookie24 100%! I'm really hoping Miyabi will be that Anomaly agent. The first time I saw her when she was introduced in the game I really thought she was an ether based on her skill set but she happened to be an Ice on beta and based on the leaks she's still an Ice but her role is still in question. Well, ZZZ is trolling if they make her DPS ice along with Ellen. Ice anomaly would be better but still, Ice is already OP now so they must prio those elemental teams that are not yet complete which is ether.
@@remchwan she looks ice in cutscenes too so i doubt she’ll be any other element. And so far she’s shaping up to be an attack type character i think. Maybe the pink haired lady or the bow guy could be support/anomaly. Definitely need more ether characters.
@@Spookie24 yeah but i hope they'll make her an ice anomaly. Anomaly agent is elemental master after all so Ellen and Miyabi can be in a single team with Soukaku. The guy with a bow is Harumasa and the pink haired with glasses is Yanagi. According to the leaks Harumasa will be an s-rank electric attack and Yanagi will be an s-rank electric anomaly. Grace and Rina + Harumasa Or double anomaly with Grace, Rina and Yanagi. So strong!

@@yanzou3059 I don't like Nicole's gameplay. I always have a hard time holding the skill button at the right moment when mobs are hitting me.
Honestly, this is only a "problem" now... Because of the small roster. The other guys would have their own supports in the future. Zhu Yuan is a Solid unit on her own.
She's also very easy to play, you don't need to do crazy hard combos, just stack her bullets and hold the attack button. She's probably the easiest dps right now in the game, and for the game that just came out and people didn't have time to understand and learn it's mechanics in fullest, it's the crucial factor
I on the other hand find her super hard to play, the regeneration for the bullets depending on the 4th and 5th basic is pretty rough, and I can’t keep up with what part of the basic attack string I’m in

what on earth do you mean Nicole isnt worth investing if you aren't playing zhu yuan? i replaced soukaku with her on my ellen team because she takes up way less time on field, the defense strip and and her sig engine are better buffs for me with my current stats than soukaku atk buff, and her enemy grouping ability is also just so good for shiyu
Yep! Nicole's one of the best supports in the game currently, if not the best.
Also if you have her M6 she literally gives 15 crit rate
Agreed. Most people will eventually have m4-m6 Nicole and tbh her short field time with insane buffs and the Vault are crazy. I have her m6 r5 right now

Huh.. you probably not going to pick nicole over soukaku in ellen team. She has biggest atk buff in current game right now and ice shred at m4 it great for ice team too. Ellen doesn't need grouping because she can dash and jump faster then other characters. You just trippin if you think nicole is better over soukaku in ice team. Don't be bias just because nicole has better "cake" bro. Lol

As a Klee main on Genshin, Zhu Yuan satisfies the itch of mobility that I expected.
So, I'm just honestly gonna slowly build up my character pools and I like her team more than the doom saying of "end game" from the sweaty gamers.
As a Genshin player and also Klee main for the first 2 years, I can't agree more. Doom saving is very fatiguing, and I don't think it matters that much since this game feels more skill based than actually big numbers based.
the synergy between zhu yuan and nicole is so strong simply because before Zhu Yuan, Nicole was the only Aether character in the game. There just arent' characters in that element. Simple as that.
And Nicole's def reduction, which is very strong in and of itself. Which is why Nicole is also just one of the best supports in the game right now, period
@@BladexZero12 bruh her def shred and ether buff only last for 3,5s per rotation. one of best support for zhu yuan? yes, but for general no. rina, lucy, and soukaku is way better in general
@@BladexZero12 Basically, until there is anybody else that can easily proc -40% DEF she'll have a lot of value in most of any team. Maybe even after then.
@taru5156 if you use proper tech and rotations, you can make her Def reduction last effectively 8 sec, which is enough time to unload a full clip of suppression bullets
@@BladexZero12 Other than Zhu Yuan, aka a character w insane burst via her loaded shotgun n ult, not many DPS can fully make use of the 3s def shred. Soukaku's ice res shred or Rina's pen ratio is still more comfy to use, w rather similar results.
I already invested on Nicole since released so it's a big W for me.

The best team slot team probably will be probably ZY/QY/Nicole, but you can switch Nicole with Rina, or all the other mentioned teams, this unit probably will evolve pretty well and it will endure the early powercreep
actually, Nicole’s signature and the 4-piece swing jazz dont stack, so i’d personally recommend that if you dont have the Vault, then go for 4-piece Swing Jazz, and vice versa. That free’s up a few slots!

A lot of people feel the need to keep on playing because of sunk cost
Here's REAL tip you should know :
1. Ben (and presumably Defender class) cannot be heavy stunned during perfect assist and will recover 3 assist point with single chain attack as opposed to one
2. You can switch character basically anytime and current character will resume attack animation. This means if you have attack with long animation (e.g Anby combo, or Piper swing) you should swap for back and forth to maximize DPS. Also the previous character attack will deal damage and daze but NOT ANOMALY. You can abuse this for easy disorder.
3. Swapping character mid animation will spawn agent right next to current agent. You can use this as pseudo-dodge for rushing attack that goes through straight line. The timing is kinda tricky tho.
4. If you have gun character some red flash attack will flash yellow instead and you'll automatically switch to gun character when you do perfect assist.
5. You're invincible during bullet time but you can't also dodge attack. You however can switch character
all characters are f2p "friendly." the pulls and rates...not so much. still love the game tho.
If you have zhu yuan, qingyi is a must. Right now in beta, she just have better upgrades than lycoan can give and that's 60% stun dmg buff. Then her w-engine buffs her whole team mate by 20% DMG. Then her m1 just makes enemy's def shred increased by 15%. Minimally getting qingyi is enough but w-engine and m1 is nice to have
As a Zhu Yuan player i can confirm we are not telling you jack. We are too busy wrecking everything while staring at her behind in awe.

Here is a fact that most Zhu Yuan players will not tell you. Save your Boupons. The odds that they release a N.E.P.S faction Bangboo is astronomical, especially considering they already have the securityboo model in game.

Man's just showed why Nicole is God Tier with Zhu Yuan 🤣. It's patch 1 we eating good right now and it is just going up from here. Zzz in good hands
Zhu Yuan’s signature W-engine’s advanced stat is Crit Damage. It also gives 15% increased Crit Rate, and a 35% attack buff (at 1 star). There’s absolutely NO WAY that Starlight Engine is only 5-10% weaker. I might believe that if they were both tested at level 1, but the advanced stat increases every 10 levels. There’s no way Starlight Engine would even come close at level 50 or 60
The thing that most ppl are factoring in is:
Perfect rolled discs, so you will already have plenty of critical stats but will be lacking atk.
Do I agree with it? Nah, I never get perfect or decent rolls from years of playing Genshin and now HSR. I will definitely compensate with the weapon 😂
As a proud Zhu Yuan player I really love her as my first 5 star because she truly saved my limited character pool. Right now I put her with Amby+Alexandrina or Koleda+Lucy depending on the enemy.
This entire video can be summed up by the game has only been out for a few weeks. Stop expecting every character to have multiple synergies and different team comps. Also, people bitch to bitch.
Zhu Yuan is definitely not dependent on nicole. Her core passive activates with any support so you can run her with any supp/stun duo. Koleda/lucy works, Anby/Rina works, Nicole/Anby works, lycon/sokakou works. Nicole is definitely the best at buffing Zhu yuan damage but that doesn't mean Zhu yuan is dependent on nicole, it just means that nicole is a really strong support for her but every other support is still quite viable and can get you through content just as easily. This becomes quite relevant in later stages when you need to break elemental shields because you can just drop her into a fire team or ice team and she will perform well.
Initially never wanted to play or even try zzz but this officer booty on duty made me play this game 😂

She broke the YUAN Curse. that Jing Yuan has.. she isn't niche instead she's extremely generic as a unit, and excels at a lot of things with minimal investments.
Well I tried to get her and I'm 22 away from pity. I think I'm gonna save that pity for someone else. Likely for a DPS unit.
I will try zhu yuan/lucy/nicole with the stun bangboo i think that could be fun :)

I *can't* be the only one who was half-expecting this video to talk about just playing her cuz of her.... yk....
The only thing I don't like about Zhu Yuan is if there's multiple enemies on the screen and you're doing basic attacks in assault mode she flying around like crazy from mob to mob and it feels like I'm constantly ruining my positioning with her which never happens when I play Ellen
So, one thing I do to mitigate this a little is always keep the / A D pressed while attacking, she will keep going around the same enemy instead of flying away backwards. I also counter rotate the camera. You can get used to it.
I have been thinking alot on it and Im very sure Jane Doe will be break the Zhu Yuan and Nicole team. It will maximize the faction/element bonus and disorder damage.
I run Zhu Yuan with Koleda and Grace and I haven't encountered any issues with enemies. My team comp shreds enemies like butter.
The problem with your team.. zhu yuan additional ability not active because she has no support. Which mean she doesn't has 30% crit rate buff.😂

Lol.. grace is shock, koleda is fire, zy is eather. None of them support each others. Koleda and grace has same belobog buff but zy? What bangboo you use? Sure they can clear content just fine but that not the best use of zy😂

She may be f2p friendly but way to get her is absolutely not. Stuck on level 35 without quests or commissions to progress, spend 143 pulls on her banner and still haven't got her. Considering you can't really farm polychrome since rewards are one and done i can't imagine ways to obtain future characters with abysmal rates like that.
I love her very much, from her design to the gameplay. Glad I saved 140 pulls to pull her. Ellen is super cool but yeah I had to miss her banner for zhuyuan.
I have able to pull Zhu yuan on my second pull (meanwhile Ellen took forever) so in this case I have both power houses and just in time too since I need a second team for defense anyway. I will say I need to learn her rhythm cause Im so addicted to my ice team, Im playing my ether team the same way (It's so hard to remember Anby needs to click and not hold for attacks XD).

I built my Grace for stunning and shock support since she has better daze scaling than Anby.
even without additional abilities, Lycaon or Koleda still work much better than Anby.
Look, if she is already Top Tier with two f2p A-Rank agents, she will be even better when two S-Rank limited banner characters take their place.
We have Qingyi coming. The second we get someone better than Nicole, it is so over for all other teams.
Got her this morning and shes helping me push forward alot faster then i was lol. But shes also a bit odd and im still getting the hang of her. A wee bit of regret i didnt play at launch since i missed ellen but im having a good time
true, in ZZZ i peffer more have Stuner/ or Support. Ellen teach me how crucial that Daze and Stun Duration that amble disable my enemies.
ZZZ satisfy all player bases which balance all characters to be useful but some of passive benefit still limited to the same attribute and faction. I hope they remove this restriction because it's so terrible.
If Nicole had a faster charge attack she would be S tier

Started playing the game a couple of days ago. In your opinion, how much would it cost to max out a character? Like having all 6 copies + her engine?
I already used my guaranteed pull to get Zhu Yuan and after a while got Nicole up to C6 so it's a little too late to talk me out of it
One thing I wish they'd change is the "move the joystick" aspect of her kit. I play on M&KB so I'm not even certain i'm using that correctly by moving when using her hold fire.

What’s your whole rotation for Zhu Yuan and what you do before you start dealing dps
Stun enemies, during stun phase unload all her suppressive bullets, use ultimate, use 2EX skills. Repeat.
Anby daze, Chain attk Nicole, Chain attk Zhu Yuan, Spam suppressive mode and when low bullets use the special or ult (ult prio)

@@kamicokrolock If running Nicole I highly recommend switching her in after she uses up all 9 bullets to get her EX off before doing EXskill/ult.
Stun enemies, switch to Nicole's debuff, switch to Zhu's (a suppressive bullet will automatically launch) then switch back to Nicole to launch her ex then switch back to Zhu and launch her suppressive bullets then ult. This way you can maximize Nicole's debuff and give Zhu's enough time to launch her skills before Nicole's debuff ends.
As for me, i can ignore the additional damage when the enemies are stunned bc Nicole's debuff was more powerful. I also tried Zhu, Lucy and Nicole and it's pretty awesome. I notice that I can kill mobs faster than having a stun agent. Well, it's a matter of play style and skill. I suck at herding the mobs so I can stun them at the same time and it's quite longer to stun enemies so a damage buff from Lucy and debuff from Nicole is more convenient for me.
I use koleda for stun phase, then Nicole chain ATK, then zhu chain, spam shotgun and ult
Lucy at level 20 is a crime, why is the bennett of ZZZ not leveled up? lol.
It’s hard to remove my Ben bigger and koleda team I just love there synergies

Third, I totally agree that it's baffling to see a very very strong and flexible unit released so early in the game. Adding to that, Nicole being that broken makes me wonder what an Ether S-Rank Support would be, considering Nicole is an A-Rank character

That's a very strange assumption to make. Those kinds of things always work in these types of games unless explicitly stated they don't work.
