Know you have tons to read yourself, but if you ever desire “lighter” reading, I’ve purchased some witchy almanacs recently and enjoy the 3-6 page entries on various topics. They are nice for waiting room reading or just identifying a topic or history I wasn’t familiar with. You are doing well with your presentation, Ma’am. 😁
@@IvyTheOccultist Lewellen publishes a couple versions, one is an Herbal and the other more general pagan stuff. There’s also one that’s been published for like forever- the Witches Almanac. I’ve only read a couple but I really like how they sort of theme it, like water or winter.

Absolutely!! Also, I totally know that feeling. 😂 I'll definitely talk about this on my next book recommendation video! But for now, here's kind of what I do: - I always start by reading the titles and descriptions of each chapter which most authors put right in the beginning. - Then I do a thorough read of the introduction so I can understand the author's writing style, their perspective, why they decided to write this book, potentially any influences that this book may have... The introduction really gives me the "flavor" of the book. - And then I just straight up skim the rest of the content of the book. I go page by page, skimming the content and looking at the visuals. - At this point, I can blow through like 5-10 books within a week and start to decide which ones are most interesting to me. Some books I can tell I won't like as much, just right from the beginning after a quick read. And so I decide to go back to those books way later when I have more time. I definitely don't like my time being wasted on a bad book! - Then I pick the most interesting book of the lot and do a DEEP dive. I slow read through all the chapters and work my way through the exercises. Hope that helps!!

Dang Ivy! You're almost at 3,000 subscribers!!! I always enjoy recommended witchcraft/ magick videos. Grimoires, Eastern Body Western Mind, Iron Pentacle, A Broom at Midnight are on my list. Is that Medusa on the cover of the picatrix? I'm a sucker for hardcovers too. I would have to agree that modern books are heavily influenced by New Age. Could you do a video on the differences and types of New Age practices and witchcraft? I'll have to add CricketSong's book to my list. I've been coming up with things to include in my book if I want to publish a book, not quite sure yet. I kind of want to read Penzak's books but I believe they're Wiccan based, so I'm ify. I would definitely agree with you about love, protection and prosperity magicks are the most popular. Dang Ivy! You're almost at 3,000 subscribers!!! I always enjoy recommended witchcraft/ magick videos. Grimoires, Eastern Body Western Mind, Iron Pentacle, A Broom at Midnight are on my list. Is that Medusa on the cover of the picatrix? I'm a sucker for hardcovers too. I would have to agree that modern books are heavily influenced by New Age. Could you do a video on the differences and types of New Age practices and witchcraft? I'll have to add CricketSong's book to my list. I've been coming up with things to include in my book if I want to publish a book, not quite sure yet. I kind of want to read Penzak's books but I believe they're Wiccan based, so I'm ify. I would definitely agree with you about love, protection and prosperity magicks are the most popular. I'm in a traditional witchcraft kick, which is weird because I had the same kick last year around the same time. I love that your recommendations aren't very popular books. I love your sweater. YES! I LOVE Medusa. She is my queen. I actually can't remember who is on the cover of the Picatrix now... Some old dude? 😂 And yes, great idea on the New Age witchcraft video! I don't blame you... I feel myself being pulled towards trad craft as well. It would be cool to do a video of Trad Craft versus New Age Witchcraft! I love that you're wanting to write a book - you should definitely do it someday! We need more voices in the community that are well researched and intelligent. Yes, Penzak does have a wiccan flair, but I am able to read past that and it doesn't bother me too much. You can still find nuggets of gold throughout the books! 🖤🖤

Yeah… a lot of people don’t realize hermetic qabbalah comes from Kabbalah, the mystic foundation of Judaism. Grimoires sounds awesome.
Oh for sure! I spent the first half of my Hermetic Qabalah video explaining that 😂 Or better yet, people think Hermetic Qabalah and Kabbalah are the same thing! 🤦♀️

In fact, I've heard from multiple people who are Jewish and practice traditional Kabalah that it's kind of insulting to assume they are all the same thing. Trying to get rid of the misinformation...
