  • As the gardening season slows down, I discuss how we can prepare our roses for winter and spring while we enjoy the fall colors. Afterwards, I share a tour of several new and expanded beds, including a waterfront perennial Scentables™ rose garden sponsored by Star Roses and Plants.

Wonderful and informative video. I love what you are doing down by the water with the quad gardens. I can't even imagine how many boxwood shrubs you will be needing. But it will be stunning.

Things are slowing down? Not here in 9b/10a Central Coast California
All except my HTs are loving the cooler weather - have one Iceberg that's virtually a 4x4 ball of white. That it finally rained a bit (with more coming) has rejuvinated many plants. They've also - finally - received some long overdue attention that previous owners completely failed to do (like pruning/fertlization/spraying lol).

Great work Kimberley! Such a wonderful informative video to watch during my morning coffee. The garden is looking great and can tell you and the hubs have been working extra hard to build your dream garden! Loving the new additional beds, benches, and the view is fab this time of year. The new fence is such a blessing isn't it? And very complimentary to your space😍.

The fall is crazy. I swept the leaves off the deck, and almost immediately they decided to somehow crawl back. #annoyingtrees

I really need a house with some space. The transformation of your property is amazing. Did you ever consider using some nitrogen fixing plants to help the roses be more self sufficient and to bring a little more diversity to the environment.
If you did not know fruit trees and roses are closely related and growing them with a fixer you get better performance and you dont get the long term mono culture issues with pests and diseases.

@@TheRoseGeek Old wives tale. If growing basil prevented blackspot it would not grow within miles of my home. I freeze it, dry it and cook with it constantly. Its november and its everywhere. Along with mint, tyme and oregano. Nothing stops blackspot. Its part of every environment. I just deal with it as it comes. Planting nitrogen fixers creates a less is more thingy. Balance is better.

Thanks for this video, it is good to have a reminder. I got a lot done at the end of October, just waiting for my tree rose to go dormant and get the insulation on. First year I am not deadheading old blooms on my roses, hope to see hips. Always wait for pruning and defoliation in February. Thanks to your videos, I have been using pruning sealer! Cannot wait for your next video, I would like to know which roses will be out of your garden and which ones did their best this season.
