Chapeau, Sir! I can understand the animal issue; didn’t have any myself, but the forest is great cover for all sorts. That said, the sopping wet roads made my descent interestingly sketchy in its own way - definitely a climb for a dry day!
@@WheelygoodCycling yeah it was early morning and the road is so quick and fast that a deer or a squirrel not even darting out but just seeing one at the side of the road had me on the brakes. Real good climb tho. One of my faves for sure. The switch backs up the top are great and the rewarding views on a clear day are worth it.
Definitely the right approach - you've no idea what the critter will do and hitting something even as small as a squirrel at speed (a pheasant can make a mess of the front of a car) would likely hurt both parties, it doesn't feel like it's worth that risk (or am I just getting older?). The top part is a real reward for the grind through the forest at the bottom - I'll have to get back there on a better day...
