Double cherry bomb is a versatile solution that can deal with both slow and fast tempo, which is why we're using it.
With double cherry, giga pressure on row 2/4 is reduced by a lot, however row 1/5 will be more vulnerable because gigas are only frozen once in a cycle. Imps can also block the wintermelons, letting gigas speed up and smash the fumes.
In the second half, if waves spawn too fast you might need to use an extra squash (3:46). Also if the craters at 2-7/4-7 haven't recharged, put doom shroom on row 1/5.

Double doom isn't the best option in RE cuz they're vulnerable, although that does makes gigas way less threatening. Double ice or cherry bomb would be more stable yet also deal with gigas quite well.
