I live in Arizona. And my Husky's do surprisingly well in the desert. During the summer, I only walk them early morning, or after sunset. All other seasons, as long as its not sunny, and over 85, they seem to do just fine. I have even walked them in 90, while it was cloudy. And they had no issues. On days where its on the cooler side, all they want to do is be outside! Right as summer was ending, first day it was around 70 during the day, they were in the back yard the whole day! I had to force them inside for bed. You just have to go outside, and check the temperature, before you get them excited for a walk. But Husky's can defiantly thrive, in desert environments as well.

Perfectly said, Don! It's true, they are such an adaptable breed. Many years I've spent in south east Asia in tropical climates where all the huskies I came across absolutely loved it, seemed completely happy and healthy. It's always important we use common sense when keeping our doggos comfortable in either hot or cold weather. Thanks for the comment!

I believe you. I love in MN and our summers are brutal along with our winters. My husky comes in side in the summer days and is outside all winter long. It's 35 below windchill right now and she's out in her insulated dog house.

I live in southern Ontario Canada. And the summers here compare to any tropical climate. My huskys ventures out early morning and late evening and usually resides on the floor register where she receives that cool air conditioned air. As we speak she's curled up outside sleeping at a brisk - 10 Celsius with no intention of comming in.

In Denmark we have babies sleeping outside as well in that temperature too. Ofcourse in warm prams and sleeping bags.

Balto was not a lone sled dog. He co led with another Husky named Fox. Follow the story of Togo during the 1925 diphtheria outbreak. He is the true hero.

oranges are a citrus. its on your good list and citrus is on your bad list for dogs to eat.

Good spot. The thing is, even though oranges are in fact included in the citrus family, they are slightly different in that many dogs tolerate them well (yet some still don't) This is why we included it on our list of fruits that's huskies can eat, rather than can't. If your husky can tolerate it! That's great :)

We had a chow and he loved being in the cold. He hated the summer heat

I love the Husky breed, except in Australia it’s more the Heat that is the problem for both man and beast

The only time my huskies have been cold is when it rained a lot and then froze and their hair was ice.

Me and Willow are here dutifully responding for your pleas for subscribers. Now if you can show me how to make Husky fur invisible I'd be ever so grateful hahaha

haha! first of all, thank you very much. And as for the fur, well, the husky gods decide that one... Jke. Honestly, just consistent brushing almost daily with an undercoat rake followed by a slicker brush has been the most effective routine for me over the years.

I want to know that trick too. My Keira and Ruaridh (huskies) fill my house several times a day. I am an expert at vacuums and air filters and grooming them. Their hair follicle growth needs to be studied by scientists for Rogaine.

@@e.h.4933 Give it a couple years you'll be a vacuuming expert. I don't know about your huskies but mine has the added annoying ability of sneezing like mad all over the wooden floor when it's walkies time. So not only do I have the hair to clean up but also her snotty foot prints two of three tines a day. I honestly believe I was only put here to clean up after her an make sure she eats like royalty haha
