I wish I saw this video earlier, only yesterday I trimmed my plant and decided to keep it smaller since I`m unable to propagate it, It was over 30 feet and pruned regular, I still have a part to prune so I`ll try AGAIN to propagate. I loved your detailed video and will let u know how it goes. Yhis is the first plant I`ve failed many times to ever root. lol
Rangoon creeper vine is very fussy. A lot of cuttings didn't make it too during my trial n error. Hope you are successful too in your propagation experiences too. Thanks for dropping by
Hey awesome video I really enjoyed. I love this plant very much although I have seen many videos on TH-cam on how to grow by cutting many of them do say its very easy tbh it's very difficult. I live in jeddah saudi Arabia here the weather condition is harsh temperatures reaches around 45 degrees. Its my 2nd time growing these cuttings, since the weather is so hot I'm keeping it on top of my fridge, away from the from the sunlight, I did apply honey on my cuttings and then inserted in a potato and covered it with soil I am watering only when needed that's all, Some of the leaves are falling from the cuttings to this I'm thinking the cuttings might be dead. Some cuttings are hard and some are soft I am really sorry for thus long message please read and answer my question Btw you did not mention in how many months did you get the results
Thank you so much for your thoughts. I must say that it quite challenging to grow them from cutting. Very much easier if planted using saplings - basically a new shoot will spring out from the mother plant with roots. That will ensure a greater success than cuttings. If you noticed that in case there are no new growth appears - and all the leaves had fallen n nothing appears for 1-2 weeks. That cutting is dead

I have a question, i would be very grateful if you could answer it. Can we prune it in October, my vine is just five, six months old bought it from nursery and is potted in the ground. It didn't give any bloom till now but started with very few blooms a week ago. As you mentioned in your video the bottom trunk of the plant should be clear, mind is very dense from the base. How many inches of the trunk should be clear from the ground. Should i prune it only from the base or should i cut it from the top also. I hope you get my points. Thank you so once again.
It depends Mine, the roots n trunk had grown thicker than my 3 fingers. I often prune once its fully flowered n faded n when I prune.. I prune everything except leaving the main trunk.. As i only want them to bloom from the primary shoots.. My suggestion : Trim the bottom part n keep it clear, Then prune again the next week n see if the plant can handle the stress. If you notice maroon shoots coming out from the bottom then the plant is a vigorous grower. From the new shoots appears the flowering shoot. Hence trim all n train the plant where you want to to bloom. Mine grows wildly, hence I need to control where I want them to grow n bloom.

I found a fully mature R Creeper Growing in full sun at the Hacienda Del Sol Property on S.Merritt Island where I did some Irrigation and landscape installation for the Family that originally owned it . The vine was large and multi branched with stalks growing over a hundred feet in every direction and cannot express to you the sight or the smell of their intoxicating blooms the base were several 4-5 " woody vines cascading up and encompassing several thousand feet of yard space making them more than likely the first specimens planted in Brevard .I propigated several of the vines and planted them in some local residences through out Brevard . ❤ My favorite vining flower along with bougainvillea , and Florida Flame vine .
True But I do find this plant very resilient and hardly once it had established itself You can totally hard prune it at every flowering season for the next full bloom encounter.

that's all, Some of the leaves are falling from the cuttings to this I'm thinking the cuttings might be dead. Some cuttings are hard and some are soft

Only prune the branches not the main vine.
Yes not for soft hearted..have it in Usa Fl. It died back frost, now it has the load of flowers, no food this summer.
