Yes, Nod is much easier to play, and overall stronger. Was hoping for some high-level GDI vs Nod multiplayer matches with the remaster, to see if anyone has learned any new tricks to counter the OP of classic Nod (there's always been a couple , but they have very mixed results), but sadly it seems mostly people are just sticking with Nod so far, because it's safer and it being early days, makes it easier to get on that leaderboard. Whichever way you look at it, even if somebody comes up with a sure-fire effective defensive strategy against Nod as GDI, they'll probably need to be much better at the game to pull it off, than the Nod player will have to be to just do what Nod has always had to do to be so strong. So without a complete rebalance of the units, they'll always be a skill imbalance between the sides. If you want more balanced gameplay, you are better off sticking with Red Alert. The sides are still imbalanced, with Allies having the stronger early game, but the disparity isn't quite as large as it is between Tib Dawn's GDI and Nod in MP. Soviet have much better odds against Allies than GDI have against Nod.
the factions aren't unbalanced its just that GDI is very tech heavy and it forces them into a long/late game playstyle that many dont prefer. Most of the time, people want fast easy wins that are full of action and Nod brings that probably better than any other C&C game/faction its like comparing protoss to zerg in Starcraft. they're styles are just so diff, that one looks significantly better than the other, but lots would argue protoss is op
GDI is definetly stronger than nod in every aspect, but because nods units are so cheap and cast, it gives them a massive advantage in early game as you can see here. but if you let GDI start mass producing medium tanks and grenadiers nod doesn't stand a chance

I forgot that vehicles and people could pass right through each other. Maybe it was too taxing to calculate avoidance behaviour. It does make it seem less real.

I'd like to hear if other players have this issue too: I've been experiencing a lot of lag in the simulation while playing the campaign missions. This becomes pretty obvious in the final missions where you've got more tanks than you need. During the final Allied mission I may have discovered the reason. This is theorycrafting (also because my laptop is not that powerful, but I would've expected that it can run this game without too many issues), here is how I think things go in the game. 1. Run and render the game in old structure. 2. Render the new graphics 3. Display the new graphics. The result. In the new graphics I end up sim-lagging for 30+ seconds if there is a relatively larger army having a relatively large battle. Here's the point where I found out while switching between old and new. My army was 4 stages ahead in the battle in old graphics, in the new graphics, I went back in time by 30 seconds. And a building that's already been built while watching in old graphics, only just pops out of the ground (or isn't even there yet) in the modern graphics. If there are a few units, I suspect the lag is still there. Tanya has to be hard-micro'd to make sure she survives. This was a game choice because commando units are very strong. They don't act on their own, they only fire back if they're being hit. Otherwise you have to tell them to do everything. Bring in the sim-lag from the game in modern graphics, and the lag you get while controlling Tanya means several shots won't get done. Tanya walks to an empty space even though you see an enemy unit in that spot and you're telling Tanya to attack it. Result: Today I've gone "Kill the Dog. No, do not walk towards the dog. KILL-THE-DOG. Now you're dead why are you so useless." in missions 3, 5 and the final mission. Basically I had no time to respond to enemy instakilling dogs attacking Tanya, got to restart missions several times. I suspect the lag (tiny with just controlling Tanya, big with a large army fighting) causes this.
I’ve actually fallen off since 2018 (in RA) because I suddenly got the idea of doing pro gameplays for every C&C game instead of just RA, and this new goal too has taken a hit as I don’t play as much as I used to. There’s a good chance you could beat me :)

Hey if you are having trouble with sidebar hotkeys set your building hotkeys using f1 through f12 but assign the buildings in the order you would build them. Also ranked is forced normal game speed but you can change that in custom obviously
A lot of us were just bad at the game back then. Many games in Starcraft had an agreement to not attack for 10 minutes or more. There might have been some of that going on in C&C back in the day. I only played RA a bit back then. I remember Westwood's free service only had 1v1. I think you needed Gamespy or something for more players. I had a lot of fun doing games with personal friends using direct modem connection.

If I saw you sell your construction yard, I think I would have quit. You've obviously got everything you need, and I'm not stopping you
That was probably a do or die rush considering the other player got 4 Apaches so early in the game. I wonder if if he/she even sold everything to mass that money.

Multiplayer such a type is 0 fun for me... Im huge fan of CC since 1998, but... i hate rushing in all rts games.
Rushing is part of the game, but is only one part of it, many games become long games
