If I had a nickel for every fire starter becoming part ghost in recent memory, I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. Memes aside, I love Hisuian Typhlosion. It's a powerhouse under the sun with its fire stab and the ghost type is useful in avoiding fake out, extreme speed, and not getting trapped. It also helps in hitting types for neutral that resist fire. Heck, you could even go fire tera if you really want to burn them to cinders.
I picked Hisuian Typhlosion for my Legends Arceus playthrough, and man... I love her so much. The design is pretty adorable, and those stats are just really solid.
@@aninass no, no they arent always male and static. They are sometimes static and usually have a higher chance to be male. I softresetted for a female cyndaquill.

I absolutely love his design. One of my favourites for sure. Competitively though I feel like he doesnt do much that regular Typhlosion cant do as well.
It’s got a stronger eruption than torkoal under sun. Excellent speed stat, and awesome coverage. It’s pretty good imo. I prefer torkoal infer TR but maybe I’ll experiment w H-typholosian a bit. Those turn 1 wins w eruption are too dam satisfying lol
torkoal has drought tho. thats better for team play. id take torkoal over typhlosion . he's doing the same thing on a weaker level but way better for the rest of ur Pokemon. he even has white smoke as an ability which is great for protecting stat nerfs
To be fair most of the “normal” forms were made before power creep exploded to the monster it is today. They had time to refine and think about these a little more

Hisuian Typhlosion got played in the hidden ability department, true, but I can't agree his move variety and signature move is lackluster. His move variety is exactly what he needs and his signature ability is really good in competitive, it's just they decided to give Samurott a really overpowered move. I think we will get a nerf by the time the DLC hits.

Frisk being largely pointless now that items are shown in team sheets is a shame. I *think* the new team sheet policy for VGC came out a couple months after the game released, so Frisk barely missed getting a change this gen. I feel like if they were to change it or give it an upgrade, it might be a good idea to give frisk the additional benefit of ignoring any effects of an enemy's held item when attacked... A bit like Unaware, but for items instead of stats, I guess. Choice band's attack bonus wouldn't be added if the opponent is targeting Typhlosion, nor would something like life orb. It's still not *super* amazing like Scrappy, but being able to ignore items that can significantly change an opponent's attack power would be pretty good for a mon with rather poor bulk.

Hisuian typlhlosian may have competition for its roll unfortunately sense both skelederge and dragapult are a thing, admittedly he has some things over them (hes faster then derge and has way better ghost coverege then dragapult does) plus he may hit harder right off the bat but overall they likely outpace him sadly, also as cool as infernal parade is, i feel like its outclassed by hex, if its chance to burn was higher (maybe 30% like scald) i see that alone making typhlosion worth using on sets without will o wisp, but without it its just weaker hex overall Edit: I'm an idiot, infernal parade does have a 30% chance to burn, I thought it was only 10%, woops. It'll still be overall better to run hex on toxic spikes teams like he suggests but honestly, other then that parade might be better

Couldn't you just set up toxic spikes and Ghost Tera Infernal Parade? It basically becomes a base 240 move at that point, and for any mons resistant to poison status you have a chance of burning
While I don't dislike infernal parade, Hex is stronger and Hyphlosion grts access to lava plume as a secondary fire stab if you want to status. Only Heatran resists there, and you wouldn't stay in on a heatran anyways if you had infernal parade if it didn't die
Hex is barely stronger (65 vs 60, 130 vs 120 when opponent has a status problem). The key difference is that Infernal Parade also has a 30% chance to burn, while Hex users have to rely on other moves or Pokemon to inflict the status.
Yeah because speed only matters if your a sweeper. But Typhlosion’s selling point was Eruption, which is more appealing on a wallbreaker. And 95 is still good with a Choice Scarf anyways

Realistically, you’re never getting sun, blaze, Tera fire choice specs Overheat off, because it requires ridiculous amounts of setup for minimal gain, because any fire immune or resistant Pokémon walls you completely, especially after your special attack crashes from Overheat. And before the smartasses in the comments talk about how it’s a joke video, check the description. That is a competitive set that he is actually trying to give to people.

Infernal parade is such a bad signature move... 30% burn with 60 (120) base power is meh, you use a supporter most of the time anyway so hex is just better with 65 (130) base power, its so brain death from gamefreak to not make infernal parade at least a 65 move or increase the burn from 30% to 50% OR make it 100% if the opponent have a negativ statt change like -1 atk from intimidate or -1 speed from sticky web etc. that would be a lot better There is still something called stab so we are talking about a Infernal parade 180 status + neutral 360 status + super effectiv VS Hex 195 390 Typhlosion is not realy a pokemon that tank hits very well so you want strong moves anyway and that dmg differents can be game changing
This is wrong. Eruption gets the tera boost. I think what you are confusing it with, is the fact that all moves matching the tera type with a bp under 60, gets automatically buffed to 60 bp, but not moves like eruption. eruption can have a lower than 60 bp, but will not be boosted to 60 from tera.
Blaze + overheat + sun + tera + specs = trash. like if you really gotta take all the steroids under the sun, are you really that good? dude is using EVERY utility at his disposal just to do 1 move lol. in my opinion, he's not good. there's plenty other fire type options.
All that steroids to nuke a freaking tank even chi yu needs those steroids or setup nasty plot to do that and typhlosion-h is good for doubles only fire pokemon that are better than it are chi yu and heatran and maybe torkoal under trickroon but that's arguable
I like hiphlosion better , looks like his gen 2 shiny and feels less boring with flames off than regular typhlosion. Also love the fact that he's high , feels like a more fun design to me.
All these years and a new form and my boy is still spamming choice spec eruptions. The more things change the more they stay the same.
