Gladys Knight and the Pips are a very underrated group. They had some absolutely gorgeous vocals and arrangements. They definitely deserve to be in all of the halls of fame- rock, soul…. etc. Her voice has so much emotional texture and soul. And no one sings back up better than the Pips, now or back then.

Yes!!! I think she was every bit as gorgeous and sang just as beautifully. And has the stage presence of a queen!!! I feel like Diana just wasn’t as much of a lady’s lady, dignified and sweet. Gladys had a grace about her that few could match.

My cousin, she bought some kind of clothing, I think. I bought my very first, only mine, piece of music, an eight track tape of Gladys Knight and the Pips Greatest Hits!!! My Aunt and cousin, knowing I wore old hand me downs and grew up poor, asked me, incredously, “you want to buy music???”!!! And I said, “it’s Gladys Knight and the Pips!!!!! Their Greatest Hits!!!!
