I have a box with a lid and about 5 meals in large plastic bags that fit inside to take along when camping for "extra". Once we were stuck due to a serious storm (roads washed out) and couldn't get to a store, thankful I had extra food and we did fine! :) Great ideas you have here, I like some of the recipes, and need to try them!
Terrific ideas for a busy family on days that we are in a hurry. I make large batches and freeze meals ahead as well. We like to put together meals for the coming week on the weekends if possible to make the work week run smoothly, these ideas help
I did this for Christmas. Kids were home from university. Had 10 days of meals and desserts set out into daily bag. I was able to meal prep and buy ingredients over a couple of months allowing me to find most items on sale. I froze meats and had list of fresh items I needed to buy last minute
As you can tell I’m new to your channel and absolutely love it. Your honestly my favorite one. Anyway this is such a wonderful idea and one I plan on doing. Thank you!
Interesting idea...maybe it could work better in a freezer meal form...lower carb is for more limited with shelf stable foods but I would imagine canned salmon, tuna, kippers, chicken etc might work...dietary restrictions can be more challenging to work with but some creativity can go a long way :)
@@asimpleseason2616 I was thinking of using the freezer more. I do have complex carbs and could cook quinoa, for example, and have chicken cooked ahead. I’ll try to work on it and let you know what I come up with.
Making up 20 of those would be ideal for a month's worth of meals. Many years ago, before we really had the internet , I would make up a months worth of dinners just on a sheet of paper and put it on the fridge. This way I knew I had all of the ingredients on hand no matter which meal we chose to make.
These are a great idea for handing out to neighbors (that you know!) who might not be prepared for an emergency, but draw boundaries! You can't feed all people forever during an emergency. Dry soups in jars also work well, or seal in mylar bags writing that info on the outside of the mylar bag. I have soups ready to giveaway in case of emergency.
Hi Lisa, great video. I just watched The Pioneer Wman and she was making meal kits, great idea. I am redoing a Pantry space in my Laundry Room and just ordered my shelf unit. Love your channel.❤️
Great vid. I have made some meal kits in the past but they were kinda boring. Like the med. chicken one. Am going to try that recipe soon. Going to make up some of these kits to take to a friend that's not doing so well.
These are good ideas! I'm sure your anxiety levels are less knowing you always can grab a bag and make a quick dinner without worrying if you have all of the ingredients for dinner. Have you done a dinners in jars video?
My wife and I like your videos but sorry this one is not one of them. Meal kits is a wonderful idea but the ingredients of each kit is definitely not our cup of tea.
Thanks, Steve...I am a big advocate of scratch cooking and these types of kits are more of an in a pinch solution and not an everyday thing...also some people are new to cooking at home and often use some pre-packaged foods to help them get started :)

We regularly put food staples in the community food pantry of our apartment complex but will definitely put some kits together!
Wow, a community food pantry in your apartment complex?!!? What a fabulous idea!! :)

Brilliant, brilliant brilliant! And I love the idea of giving these as gifts.

One year I received one if these kits as a gift for 7 can soup. Easy and yummy

Wow, Michelle, I am truly humbled... thank you so much 😊
I love this idea! Now I need to figure how to do something like that without using processed food and more low carb. 😊

Your ideas are inspiring. Thank you 😊
I plan on trying this 👍🏼 what do you think about dehydrating some green peppers and grinding them to make a green pepper powder?
I've never made green pepper powder but it sounds like it'd be good...would you use it as a seasoning?
@@asimpleseason2616 I would want to use it like onion or garlic powder. I think I will try it☺️👍🏼
Great ideas!!!😊 Keep um coming,please!!!
Love your ideas
