How To Draw The Marvel Way book is one of the best art books for the aspiring comic artist. It is not outdate and never will be, regardless of the art style of when it was written. Anatomy and the art of storytelling never gets outdate. There are different art styles but there is only one way to draw awesome comics and that is how Marvel Comics did in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. Today, I am not sure. I don't read Marvel Comics anymore. AGL - Excellent video, btw. Love to see any artist using this awesome book to teach because it is using TRADITIONAL art tools, which is what I use and will always use in my comics. I enjoy seeing digital art in comics but I prefer creating ORIGINAL ART PAGES!
@@ScottDSackett I seen a guy years and years ago sharpen it with a standing block and he basically just sands it on a 45 degree angle and the tips looks like a chisel. I use mine for the under drawing so I never sharpen anyway.

I had this book as a teenager but never really dug into it as my interests changed. This is an awesome "re-introduction." Thank you.
Thanks a lot Scott, for your knowledge and expertise. Leaning, as I go. Matt ✌️😜👍
Your videos are amazing!! I got this book to start drawing but there's no clear instructions on how to practice. You're a life saver.
Please make more lessons and exercises for this video how to draw the marvel way

I enjoyed this! I'll get started on my homework tomorrow. I look forward to Lesson 2.
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Some good advice, thank you Scott.
Thanks! I hope viewers get something out of this.
I have this book😎the thumbnail caught my attention!
Thanks. I was hoping people who had the book would see the thumbnail.
I remember checking this book out in Jr. High (middle school). . I will have to find it again.
It’s still readily available. I think you can even get it at 5 Below.
That clutch pencil should have a sharpener on the end of it.
It does, but it makes a short point that dulls quickly. I prefer using a knife or a handheld sharpener.
