I love my 2016 ASX. Great economy and great to drive- 54,000 miles with zero spent other than tyres. Great fishing car. I don't need all the electronic gadgets and Mitsubishi are well known for being a bit agricultural and basic. For many of us reliability and fuel economy are a big factor. Nice presentation Jenny.
Same, I am seriously considering buying one, I test drove and liked it, I don't care about gadgets either, reliability and practicality at the top of my list.
Perfect car for those that want to buy an SUV once and have it 15 years trouble free with very minimal maintenance. This car save you tons of money. One of the best values
I am on my second, they are reliable, well built, engines are tough. All problems? Ironed out after years. Many of us opt for tried and trusted, also they are good value for money. If it is so awful why does it still outsell the rest?
My First brand new car is 2015 Mitsubishi ASX diesel engine All-wheel drive. Most people call it “cheap, not so good looking SUV, a product from GFC.” I don’t care, fast forward 2020 it is still going strong. Selling like hot cakes and one of the strong model in Mitsubishi’s line-up.. On owner’s perspective, I have no problem. After 5 years and 103,000kms? No issues at all. Mitsubishi’s reliability is well-known. I am hesitant to part ways or trade this car.
Good review, but I think a lot of people miss the point of the ASX. In its class, It's one of the more practical vehicles. Cars like the CX3, C-HR and HRV are good, but in terms of overall size they are a little smaller and have somehow mastered the art of being a reverse tardis (their interiors are not as large as their exteriors suggest). Topped off with bulletproof reliability, low cost of ownership, good equipment levels and a low entry price, I can see why ASX is the most popular vehicle(in Australia) in it's class.
@@maov3 I disagree. The interior of the HRV is little bigger than a Honda Jazz and only because the HRV is slightly wider. Some of the interior dimensions are actually smaller than a Jazz, a car that has a lot smaller exterior. Take the length, the HRV is 30cm longer than the Jazz and none of this is translates into cabin length. Compared to the ASX, the HRV is only 6cm shorter, but all of the longitudinal interior dimensions are between 10 and 15cm shorter in the the HRV. There is no greater example of reverse tardis than the HRV.
I have the 2016 model which is good. The only thing I do not like is the road noise from the rear of the car. Has this issue been fixed in the new models?
I bought a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE in the USA and I am very happy with it. The Warranty is the best on the market with a 5 year/60,000 mile Bumper to Bumper and a 100,000 mile Warranty on the Drive Train for the Original Owner which is Non-Transferable. It drives fine and I test drove the Toyota RAV4 and the Nissan Rogue for comparison and I preferred the Mitsubishi. at this point I think that many of these "evaluations" are bogus and it is just fashionable for these so called (self proclaimed) "experts" to bash Mitsubishi. Just like this "review" has done.
So much whinging ? Tell me a better SUV in $20k AUD ? I m planning to buy 2018LS /2019ES model. LS have most of new features along with push start button with decent size info tainment etc etc Cant happen to find a better SUV in this range with all these feautures
I nearly bought the ASX, but the Vitara was just that little bit better, it's much more fun to drive, and I prefer the look of it. Also, why the unnecessary ragging on the ASX? The Vitara has been the same since 2015, yet they sung that cars praises....
For Aussie buyers the ASX has one feature that puts it way if front over the rivals ....... you can get a full size spare. Imagine being out on a country road with a puncture and having to fit one of the toy spare tyres many are supplying, or worst still no spare at all. The only thing that is average about this review is the presenter.
Augustus Caesar ive had the Panda 4x4 and it was astonishing on any terrain, even rather deep tidal water by mistake. In UK they are very good value new and very reliable and tough. Just avoid diesel models. The twinair engine with six speed manual is a gem on the motorway.
Some idiot numbnuts online for sure! This is an Australian channel, check first what cars are ans aren't sold there. The Panda failed and it was not sold in that trim. Also, she's just someone that reads a script, not an automotive expert.
They lifted the face indeed, but not much more. Funny that you guys only get the FWD version, while they offer the AWD in Europe, too, but only combined with an automatic gear box.
We have 2 asx me and my wife ..her 2018 and mine 2019 and these 2 look better than 2020 model...2020 have ugly front..we buyed it because of reliability and yes we live in Europe 😃😃😃
From this review about how it looks, anyone would think cars are meant to be fashion statements. Yes I like a car to look good, but practicality comes first! Safety etc.
Elizanne the whole industry sadly these days is geared towards selling fashion statement cars to enable quick turnover with trade ins for the next fancy design. Most cars are utter crap these days. Thankfully the likes of Mitsubishi and Subaru dont fall into that bracket.
So repetitive and without substance in parts, if not biased. Unlike its rivals, it is a quality MADE IN JAPAN vehicle (not Korea, Thailand, China, India or Malaysia).
It's July 2022 and I'm just buying my first ASX LS. In this market it has size, style and features rivalling cars $10k more expensive. Admittedly, I've compromised on the drive train. After months of car comparisons, test drives and TH-cam reviews, what really craps me off is these reviewers that all jump on the " it needs and update" bandwagon. One thing that stopped us buying many of the other contenders ie. Kia, VW etc were their "modern interiors" that look so incredibly cheap. The same with any reviews of Subaru vehicles whose interiors beat everyone hands down. Its lazy reviewing; people in search of something to say to justify their existence. New isn't always better.
A PHEV would be ideal ... with the front axle with thermic power ... and the rear - electric - with a 20 kWh battery (enough for 100 km in pure electric drive). 👍
Thanks for reviewing the model nobody is going to get... Leather seats? Yeah totally people are buying this budget friendly car and then decide to get the higher model with leather trim...no.
I don't see as many exceeds on the road as ES and LS. I was between ES ADAS and LS as the price gap is ~1200 but couldn't justify the extra 4k for the Exceed.
Andrew Paul Afford yes im so glad I am aware of Ebay so as not to use it for anything EVER. Its like a con-mans jumble sale on there. Buy something, never receive it or you end up with shoddy goods. I wouldn't lower myself.
Just had one of these as a rental.....terrible......the front doesn’t know what the back is doing....just hard and jittery. ...and plastic from a cheap stereo.

The voice of reason. Correct Sir.
Agree
Yez I agree I had a pajero brand new 2013 model had no problems with it but it crashed and bought another Mitsu vehicle and it's 2020 eclipse cross
Well said!

Mitsubishi Cars aged very well, really nice car!

I bought mine a couple of months ago - Cannot fault it - Great car
Just like the old 67 vw, reliability

I disagree that sales will fall. It all comes down to price to most Aussies.
could say about every country
I have a 2019 Mitsubishi asx. 1.6 litre engine . Bearing in mind that I've only had this for a month. Can't fault it.
I have the same car since it came out and im in love
I have the 2016 model which is good. The only thing I do not like is the road noise from the rear of the car. Has this issue been fixed in the new models?
Have this as a hire car 1.6L cwt and i agree with the review and road noises are surprisingly high.
Road noise is definitely better in the 2020/21. It's nice and quiet in the cabin now.

양념닭후라이드 well she should stop being so good looking.
Yup
she has a strange cuteness, agreed
Even the used asx are good value now..most selling for around USD $6000 here in Malaysia

Seems you were driving in Adelaide
You are very honest. The cvt is very bad. No power. I have an old 2.0P .
Base model review in the manual please would be nice
What is that chrome ornamental piece at the back of the front guard? It looks unfinished.

Does Australia not get the Renault Duster? :/
Charles צ'ארלס god no. Thankfully.
The duster rides well and is comfortable enough but the steering is rather vague. You also get transmission whine, even on new cars. Avoid.
Jenny, what do you think of the Fiat Panda Cross 4x4? I live in a mountainous region of the UK. roads are narrow and generally not good. Thanks.

Lovely Jenny!!!
jenny yeaaaay!
love it!
The Eclipse is where I'd go if I was in a bad way (having to purchase a car around this price).
Somehow it looks closely similar to the Suzuki Vitara.
In Canada it called RVR
They lifted the face indeed, but not much more. Funny that you guys only get the FWD version, while they offer the AWD in Europe, too, but only combined with an automatic gear box.
I saw a ton of these new Mitsubishi Outlander Sports in port docks in New Zealand.
Admit it.. we guys are all here for Jenny
Seems I have found another potential long term car for my next purchase.
Go for it. You’ll never regret it. I mean for the value for the money and reliability? Yes it will tick all the box.
Good review! Nice car, stylish look & good fuel consumption as well. My once is 2016 version.
I like this car
Car is nice, and reviewer is beautiful too. My outlander sport still 29.000 Km only and still amazing
Are you wearing a lab coat?
Should call it the Mitsubishi Mobile Speed Camera (MSC)
I like this colour very much, kinda like a capri-cropped doctor suit.
Excellent full review as always...

Review the Ford Focus
Boring car but beautiful Jenny reviewing it. Had to watch the video.
Little brother of Pajero Sport and Outlander.

What a gorgeous reviewer, the car's nice for an old design.
Spaciousness and safety are the most important factors! Haha

I hate the background music in this video, so off-putting. Annoying to the max. As for the car lacking things...can't please everyone. I love mine.
being a very proud homosexual I am offended by this video.. why are that 3 men in the backseat being happy u call them weirdos.

The car and the presenter both pretty
For the love of god, mitsubishi needs to hire new interior designers 😗
Not very imaginative are they?
At least they got new exterior design after more than 10 years 😂
A PHEV would be ideal ... with the front axle with thermic power ... and the rear - electric - with a 20 kWh battery (enough for 100 km in pure electric drive). 👍
P.S.: This type of AWD plug-in-hybrid ... without link between the axles ... is Volvo's approach ... & I find it simple, balanced & efficient. 👍
And how much would it cost?
It's called Mitsubishi Outlander not ASX
no. outlander is bigger
In Australia this car is the ASX. In the USA it is the Outlander Sport.
In Japan this car is the RVR.
Actually, in Aus we have both the Outlander and ASX, outlander is a bit bigger. Amelias Outlander review is coming out soon!

I have to admit I like the new front, but Mitsubishi are putting lipstick on a pig over and over.. this car is ready for the historical plate scheme.
Is this where you cook? Weird looking kitchen
She sounds too snobby for me. I think she needs to review a Mercedes instead.
