The formula to calculate the number of images formed by two plane mirrors facing each other is:
Number of Images = (360 degrees / Angle of inclination between the mirrors) - 1
In this formula: "Angle of inclination between the mirrors" refers to the angle between the two mirrors. This angle is measured between the normals (perpendicular lines) to the mirror surfaces. If the mirrors are parallel, the angle of inclination is 0 degrees.
The "-1" at the end of the formula is used to account for the original object, so you subtract 1 from the total number of images to get the count of additional images formed by the mirrors.
This formula assumes ideal conditions with perfect mirrors and no distortions. In practice, the actual number of images may vary due to imperfections in the mirrors and the angle of inclination.

I would say, if two mirrors are placed parallel to each other, the angle becomes 0 and the formula that you told us is n=(360/theta)-1, nevertheless, in this case theta is 0 and it seems undefined. But when I try this, there are images that are formed and it dawns on me that this is a kind of problem that CALCULUS solves. Therefore, as the angles APPROACHES to 0, the number of images formed
Is gonna be INFINITY. The answer is INFINITY.
THANKS FOR THIS MIND BLOWING QUERY.
7:48 this works for the 90° mirrors, but when I draw the rays for mirrors inclined at 120°, I get a 3rd (hidden) image, which should appear if the object is moved off the bisector-so slightly asymmetrical to the mirrors. And that third reflection is way far away! Anyway, hopefully I did it all correctly.
Ive started watching your videos since 2 months. You made physics so easy and crystal clear for me . Thank you sir
Infinite images will be formed. 2 green circles will be formed which are concentric in both the mirrors
Correct!!
@@ManochaAcademy but something/0 is not defined. So more accurate would be not defined?
Something / 0 does not give a fixed value as the result of the operation, but the fact remains that the value we obtain will be extremely large (this can be predicted by substituting 0 by numbers close to 0 such as 0.1, 0.01, .... and so on. In short, no matter the value, it will be extremely large i.e. infinity, what is not defined is something like 0/0
Infinite images will form in that case.
Explanation was wonderful👍
Infinite ♾️
Such an amazing video sir! Loved it!
If the mirrors are placed in front of each other there will be infinite images... We can see this in the barber shops too :)
Thanks! Super correct answer
Can you explain why there will be infinite images???
Is it because thithas value is 0
In real life using this we can see the bck of the object
Object is at infinity
I HV been enjoying your classes thank u cause I HV really improved in some aspects and hope to improve more❤
Sir please keep making videos on class 10 science
Sir how many numbers of reflections on each image form at a 90 degrees angle in the case of inclined mirrors?
Sir, when we use the formula 360/angle , if we get the answer as an odd number we don't subtract 1 but if its even we subtract 1 right?? (My physics sir told this in school
Yay sir , Is that so ??
If the mirror are the place in front of each other there will be infinite images .
For example : we can see this in the barber shops
I would say the only thing wrong with the logic between the dice is with your math where you rounded down or got rid of the decimal
I Would be only rounding down to wholes or .5 because the dice themselves can replace halves and or wholes with the mirrors colliding
Sir one teacher said that if we find the no. of images and if we get the answer in even then we need to subtract 1 from the even no. Nd if we get the no. of images in odd so there are two cases if object is placed symmetrically then we need to subtract 1 and if obj is not symmetrically (asymmetrically) placed then there is no need to subtract 1 from the odd no. .....is it correct sir ??
I think that's correct. If you draw the ray traces on paper, for example for 120° inclined mirrors, the object symmetrically will be 2 images. 360/120 - 1 = 2.
but if you keep following the reflections, you'll see a 3rd image forming in the distance behind the mirrors, which isnt visible until the object is moved off the bisector. I do not know if the width/thickness of the object affects this. I would need real mirrors to try it out!
Thank you manocha Acedmy for helping us in our study
You're welcome!!
The images formed by an object placed btwn 2 parallel mirrors will be 2
I think it's becoz the object will be obstructing reflection from either images formed to reach the other mirror.
Am I right? please I need to know?
360/0=undefined(Since they are parallel the angle is 0),Therefore the object is at infinity
What will be the no. Of images formed when three mirror s are inclined to each other at 90* ?
The answer is Infinite images.
I experience this event when I go to cut my hair at haircutting shop which We say in own language "NAE KI DUKAN".
Thanks for your explanation.❤
Sir, in the case of 2 parallel mirrors, the images formed are infinite.
Right answer
Thank u sir for clearing my doubts i was really confused about this topic
Sir could you please explain us about basic concept of science
infinite images
Super! Right answer!
When an object is kept between two parellel plane mirrors facing each other i.e 0°, infinite number of images will be seen. THEORITICALLY IT IS TRUE BUT IN ACTUAL PRACTISE ONLY A LIMITED NUMBER OF IMAGES ARE FORMED. THIS INFINITE IMAGES IS BECAUSE SOME LIGHT GETS ABSORBED BY THE MIRRORS DURING EACH REFLECTION. THE IMAGES ARE SO SMALL THAT WE ARE NOT ABLE TO SEE IT.
The answer infinity but I don't know the reason
Infinite images will form when two mirror are parallel to each other and the object between them.
THANKU SO MUCH SIR FOR THIS WONDERFUL EXPLANATION
Infinity
Fantastic! Right!
Infinite ♾♾ images are formed
Nice explanation sir
Infinite images
From ZPHS Pedal Yachavaram
Excellent explanation sir👌👌
Do video of the loop law and with questions please 🥺🥺🥺🙏🙏🙏🙏
Infinite images will form between two parallel mirrors
Infinity images
(360/0) - 1
Infinity ♾️
First like and comment
Thanks a ton!
Infinity images will be formed if we place to parallel mirrors
infinity
, sir thank u
Infinite images as every image will work as an object for the other mirror
we know
n=360°/θ
★if we place mirror parallel then
angle between mirror 🪞 is zero
therefore
n=360°/0
n= ∞
now
(n-1)
(∞-1)
= ∞✓✓✓✓
Infinite images are formed between two parallel plane mirrors
Super correct answer!
Hello sir..
I love your teaching techniques and it amazes me how a person can be good at Science, Mathematics, computer and for that matter even English at the same time😊.Your videos on physics, chemistry and computer help me a lot with my studies.Initially,I used to find computer applications to be boring, but now, after watching your videos,I find it to be a very interesting subject😊. Could you please tell me the difference between acceleration and speed as I am slightly confused. Please reply to my comment.
Yours Archita
Hi Archita, great to know that you like our videos and you are liking the computer videos as well. Do check out our video on speed velocity and acceleration. You can search on TH-cam for that.
Very helpful, Sir.😊😊
INFINITE
infinity images and also tomorrow i have exams , thank you so much sir
Thanks you sir
Thanks a big help for us..
The angle between two parallel mirrors is 0°, so images will be infinite dear sir.
Infinity no. Of image
Infinite images are formed😊
Infinite images will be formed as the angle between the two mirrors in infinity and infinity - 1 = infinity
