    Great bit of town planning there, not unlike one or two I used to have to deal with on transporters, you could sit for hours waiting for someone to clear the loading bay some pleb had decided to paint by a junction.

      There’s a classic one of these kind of videos, a big Orange box stuck in Manchester because of a parking bay too close to the corner.

    No local recovery service that could have got a medium sized recovery wagon reversed in and simply pushed the truck sideways rather than damage the bollard ? Would prob have been as quick too, or quicker.

    • @99hammy99
      @99hammy99 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thing is the van is parked legally. The idiot responsible for the road planning there should've thought about it a bit more carefully.

      Yeah I agree about the van being parked illegally but the turning circle doesn't do the driver any favours either.

      1ns4ne1d10t Wow really? That's got to be a nightmare in some of the tighter towns and city streets!

    • @1ns4ne1d10t
      @1ns4ne1d10t 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Liquid Vision Thankfully they are PSV Coaches not lorries so we don't have jobs where they are sent where lorries would be sent. Some of the schools we pick up from can be awful though. We have two IVECO Eurocargo 5.9 Cummins MidiCoaches with an INDCAR bus body which both seat 24 built on the 18 tonne lorry platform and chassis. Thankfully the older one with the shit turning circle doesn't get used for Central London or Heathrow collections because it's not an LEZ compliant engine and doesn't use Adblue. The newer 5.9 has a much better turning circle and has the later Adblue version of the same 5.9 common rail DAF LF/Eurocargo engine as the lorry so it's not so bad. The older one gets used for school contracts and drunken horse racing events where your driving a fixed route or turning it in a massive grass field at the races. The lorries must be awful to take around!

    Simple solution with no damage to anything.
    1 Undo a few bolts and remove side rails..
    2 Get pallet truck of lorry that delivers pallets use to lift body clear.
    3 Revers out slowly.
    4 Reassemble side rails stow pallet truck.

      Hi Mick... As you can see the white van parked there was a cause of this problem, apart from the driver not making sure he had enough room on his drivers side. He must of noticed that the side bars of the lorry was rubbing on the bollards. The council should remove that parking space as this is causing this problem all the time.

    Interesting. Why did they cut it so low? All they had to do was cut off the top couple of inches, leaving the bollard (what we call "post") still usable afterwards. To be honest, I'm surprised they didn't just brute forcefully drive the lorry (what we call "truck") off of it (first back and then wider forward). Far less damage to the bollard (already damage to lorry).

      As those believe the owner of the sprinter was partly responsible for the lorry truck to get hung up on the bollard when the trucking company likely is facing a huge bill for both police and a fire response to cut the bollard to allow the truck to back off the spot.

    This is what happens when the planners of local councils that make roads too narrow for vehicles doing deliveries trying to discourage hgv from town centres when that the only option of deliveries

      @@daviddou1408 no that not what I said the planners of town and cities are making the roads narrower more pedestrian wise so some places are harder to get to by truck some towns are actually banning trucks into the town or cities

      What are you on about by no need for delivery even 7.5 trucks and van struggle to make deliveries as most towns are being vehicle free and make it hard for businesses to function normally

      the truck operator will be getting the bill to replace the bollard anyway. so there will be a nice shiny new bollard waiting for someone else to flatten.

  • @taff2wales

    As you can see, there are two bars attached to the lorry, the bollard slid down to the end then snapped in behind the bars. Now the lorry could not go forwards or backwards. So cutting the top off the bollard would not of solved the problem. I think the firefighters made a meal of this as you can simply unscrew the bollard to remove it!

    • @douglasstocks9698

    Wow. So many fails in one video. I almost died laughing when I saw the fire brigade. The truck isn't on fire, what are they going to do, use the jaws of life on it?
    Over here you get a heavy tow truck and a chain. Pull back end sideways. Done. Option two for minimal damage (but more expensive): Call in a rotator truck. Sling the back axle, lift it, turn it, done.
    Hell, you could just put a strong bottle jack under the axle and shove... Not as professional, though.
    Then I see the bumpy sidewalk indicating for blind people they can cross the road. With a metal guard rail blocking it! WTF?
    And you have a half-dozen firemen working the job of one construction worker. Plus multiple police guarding the scene. And plenty of caution tape. LOLOLOLOL!
