    Very nice! And so clear he is where he's supposed to be. I don't listen much to his solo music because it's not really my style, but it's so clear that he's really good at what he does and in a much healthier environment for his personality. It kind of makes me mad that people want him back so much in Pentatonix. Not only because of the disrespect towards Matt and the rest of the band, but honestly, it feels kind of selfish from the "fans" towards Avi. His health and joy is worth more than a few extra low notes in PTX, I would think!

      Couldn't say it better. Is exactly my opinion. Maybe one time I'm hearing more of his music, it's so good.

      Totally agree with this. It really annoys me when people say they won't listen to Pentatonix because Avi left or when they accuse Pentatonix of forgetting him because they moved on too. It was Avi who needed to step back and go at a slower pace and people should be happy for him but also for PTX for still being so successful with what they want to do! Avi is amazing but so is Matt, they are just different people and I wish people would remember that 😊

      @@becca2383 Exactly! How amazing isn't it that both Avi and Pentatonix could make that change for the better of them all? None of them are bad people for wanting and needing different things.

      THANK YOU!!! That is exactly how I feel about it!!! Some of the Ptx fans appear selfish for wanting him to be back in the group. What people need to realize is that these artists are 1st and foremost individual human beings, not just singers & entertainers. They have personal lives full of the same issues that each of us have. They have personal dreams & goals in life that have nothing to do with fame & fortune. They have worries & sadness. They get tired, sick, depressed. They deal with grief. All kinds of things. We can be sad that Avi's lovely voice is no longer part of Ptx, but things in life change. We have to respect people's life decisions, & their desire to do other things in their lives to achieve happiness. And Avi has obviously chosen a path that is bringing him success & happiness. I don't know about other fans, but that fills me with Joy. I'm not really into some of the kinds of music that Avi sings either, but I love & support him no matter what he sings. I love the folk music, but not so much the country. As long as he is doing what feeds his soul, I am completely happy for him. And Ptx has found a wonderful bass in Matt. I love Matt! He is perfect for Ptx, & it's clear that the 5 of them are very close & they love & respect each other very much. As long as all of them are happy, we all need to be happy for them.

    Thank you for posting this, Courtney! Very informative! So happy that he is happy and in his "right" place. I don't listen to his solo content as it is not what fits for me as much. I have listened to a couple of his songs and his voice is beautiful in the songs. I think both he and Pentatonix gained much from the change that happened in 2017. Very happy that it worked out for both!

      Avi's solo work is unique. It was sad when he left Pentatonix, but it's a move that benefits him. I've enjoyed, and envied, his singing ability. I hope his touring, and albums, are successful.
      As for Matt taking the bass part of Pentatonix, wise choice, as his pitch is an excellent fit for the group.
      I know that both sides of the relationship are amicable. Does he know that Kirstie is pregnant, yet? If so, what was Avi's reaction to the news?
      Avi.... I wish you much success with your life's path.

    I'm thrilled with his solo work. I loved the few songs I heard of his before PTX and always hoped he would put out solo work. He's so creative and honestly, I think he is creating a body of work that will last for generations. Thanks for this interview.

    Aww this was so cool to listen to. I am so so so happy that Avi listened to his heart and made the change when he did. His music has always hit me soul deep and it's obvious he is exactly where he is meant to be. And his journey with Pentatonix was meant to be for a time of learning and growth but only for the time it was. Sometimes big changes are hard, but we need to listen to our hearts when it's time to move on to what's more right for ourselves and ultimately the others around us.
    Thank you for sharing this interview. So incredibly happy to hear from him. Also this was a very nice interview. Good questions as starting points and then giving Avi the space to just share 🥰

    I fell into Pentatonix by accident, saw a YT video of fan reaction. I fell in love with Hallelujah and yes, Pentatonix is not like any other group, band or otherwise, they are that good, but, the one person who pulled at me was Avi. Hearing his solo work it is a genre I didn’t know I liked or or needed.

    • @hernameispekka_Rebecca

      That's simply not true though? As far as bands go, PTX seem to have a hugely wide age range among their fans, often priding themselves on having families of many generations at their concerts. And in videos there genuinely seems to be quite a lot of adult/middleaged and up people in the audiences. Please don't let something like that stop you from going to something you would enjoy!

    • @EliaKay1
      @EliaKay1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Pentatonix is renowned for attracting people of all ages to their concerts. Many parents bring their kids for their first concerts and lots of grandmas and grandpas attend too. It’s a family affair for so many and PTX is very proud of this and mention it in so many of their interviews

      Please don't let age stop you from going to a PTX show. I have seen people from children to seniors there. It's about the music and the experience. You're never too old to love anything.

    I'm very thankful and grateful for Avi's gifts and talents. Just because someone Prefers someone else doesn't mean they're disrespecting another person's talent. There are plenty of groups who change members you just have a preference for certain members. I prefer Avi! As a singer myself certain tones hit my ears better than others doesn't mean their talent is better but it hits my ear better, so I'm going to listen to what I prefer. Also Avi paved the way for another bass to come and just like any person who paves the way for someone they hope the person coming behind them would use what's there and then take it further. Which if you listen to him, he wishes success for everyone. There is nothing wrong with me wishing that Avi and the rest of pentatonix we're still together but I satisfy myself with the fact that they're all content where they are and I know meat and potatoes will be forever long life friends!

    • @hernameispekka_Rebecca
      @hernameispekka_Rebecca 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That is all fair. I think the people many of us in the comments are talking about are the ones that consistently continue to bring it up on PTX videos or put Matt down because of it. Missing the past is fair, as long as you don't bring that in to others present.

    • @heatherhuard
      @heatherhuard 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I agree totally! I just don't enjoy the music that PTX is doing now as much as the old stuff, no disrespect they have changed their sound which has brought them fans that didn't really care for their older sound. I still think they are amazing and wish them nothing but the best, i just prefer their music with Avi. I watch the videos of the music that I prefer, just like other bands / groups that change members some prefer the old and some prefer the new, that is what makes the world go around.
