    My soul explodes in that very moment near the beginning of Pt ll Resolution directly after Jimmy Garrison’s gentle bass solo ends as Trane cascades like an eruption from a pressurized volcano over everything that has ever existed anywhere in any space or time! When I first felt that moment as a teenager back in the mid 70s, I would never be the same. Thank you John Coltrane! Thank you.

      Dont be naive. UMG let John Coltrane's master tapes from one particular album label burn in that fire in Los Angeles years back.
      Go look it up.

      This is another effort and commitment of Coltrane in addressing the spiritual element of human existence without employing neither emotion nor words but a different media of notes through a horn.Coltrane has managed to touch the inner most feeling of human kindness with rhyme and rythm also mantainin the gentleness of music. This is another milestone that define and reflect the beauty of CoItrane in his spirutual journey to create a world of peace and love.

    Amazing. Sounds like it's recorded more from the audience than the Jan Kurtis Skugstad recording which made the Live in Seattle 2 x LP. Jan was a professional engineer with his own studio in WA (he also recorded OM). Joe Brazil, who was a saxophonist, recorded this.

      @ryansilvan2927 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      "On Saturday, Oct. 2, Coltrane invited the young alto saxophonist Carlos Ward, who had been part of the local matinee band at the Penthouse, to join his group as a seventh member that evening. The daytime band had been led by Joe Brazil, a saxophonist and prominent bandleader on the Seattle jazz scene, who died in 2008. An inveterate reel-to-reel tape user, Brazil recorded his own performance that day, and Coltrane’s that night, on the club’s house system."
