I left Charleston in Feb after 10 years… thank God 🙏🏾 I would go to the Battery to pray and feed the ancestors that came through that port because it was the second largest slave port in the world- very spiritual place… it can get very dark- the entire history of Downtown Charleston and Mt Pleasant is VERY rich and secretive in AA history

South Carolina in general. I have lived here since 2020. I have ALWAYS been visited by spirits, but MOVING HERE, I not only feel every bit of energy's surrounding every inch of Norfolk, but I also have an audio recording of a spirit in my daughter and son in laws house.

@@ivanawilliams279 you’re right about that. Norfolk isn’t here though. SC has a lot of history because it was one of the original 13 and connected to natives and enslaved people here. The Gullah/Geechee people are here as well. Depending on where your family’s home is located it maybe a hotspot for activity.

This is why I don’t understand people, especially my own Black American folk, who speak about the enslaved as if they chose to suffer the way they did. All that energy that remains way after these people have passed, the pain, the anger, etc. None of that should be taken lightly. All of the centuries past, and that energy is still there in that building. Those souls deserve love, honor and respect ❤️🖤💚

Happy to see you are talking about my hometown. They jail is definitely open to tourist and the city will also allow art exhibits during the Spoleto festival. When I visited the jail a few years back, there was definitely a feeling of dread when entering the second floor. It was as if the ancestors didn’t want me to enter. I didn’t stay long but the feeling of relief when leaving was strong. I also used to live in the apartment near the jail. Looking out the window at night and seeing apparitions was normal. You should definitely visit if you are ever in the area. #charlestongullahgeechee

I’m from Macon, Ga and we have Central State Prison/Mental Asylum in Milledgeville, Ga…it’s been closed down due to unexplained deaths but was well known for “experimental” treatments/techniques that left the patients/inmates in a worse state than they were in when they entered. I worked for a Mental health facility who took in many of the people who were released after the closing…the things I’ve heard from these patients were scary to those not tapped in, I was the one they openly talked to about their experiences because I believed them!

Gurl what's there I just spoke at a woman's conference there downtown on 420. It's definitely some weird energy there. I slept good though which was surprising

SC native! I didn't know about this jail until now; however, given history I am not the least bit surprised. I definitely want to check it out, but only if someone is with me that I know. lol

I have a couple family members that live about 1000ft away from the jail Cromwell alley runs where u face the side of it coming down the street and they been doing ghost tours there and they turned it into an office building and it is surrounded by a housing project and residential homes

Went some years back. Didn’t see snuggling inside but me and my friend took a picture out front and there’s a real weird fire (I do not know how else to describe it) behind us as we were standing in front of the bars. Everything should have just been pitch black but it looked we were in front of the gates of hell 😂

Originally from Charleston. I’ve visited the jail on a tour before. It was pretty uneventful for me. Very hot and stuffy inside so I can’t imagine being locked up in there. I tried taking pictures with my phone but wasn’t able to photograph anything out of the ordinary

Visited Charleston and walked passed this place on a tour. Tour guide would not go in. Every spot we went to I could spot a ghost. The entire city is haunted.
