  • This Locomotive is now SOLD.
    7 ¼ inch gauge "TICH" Miniature Steam Locomotive. This is my own personal one, that I built in 1996. It has a few interesting features and has a professionally built Silver Soldered Copper Boiler with a Recent Current Boiler Certificate.

    So sad the house and rail was sold. It looks like it was installed carefully so that it would not be a tripping hazard and so on. Our needs change as we get older though. All the best.

    It is cool that your friend goes down in history as the one who demonstrated your loco that you are selling.You couldn't beat the camera work for a sales pitch!

    I just watched for enjoying the engine so I'm quite disappointed nobody blew the whistle. That's one of the most fun parts! 😂

    If I could, i absolutely would. That and I’m not sure if it would survive shipment to the US. Awesome little engine, beautiful too!

    The thing I love most about your videos is that they are very informative and to the point, I rarely have anything I feel I would like to ask after watching. But then again, I watch them all the way through..😎

    That is one very good looking locomotive Keith! It's sad to see that Ken is being sold, but without the garden railway so i suppose selling it would be a good idea, so Ken isn't just sitting on a shelf as you pointed out in the video :)

  • @groggers
    @groggers 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'd love to buy it Keith! Slight problem though... I don't have five grand or a railway so I don't think I can. I hope it goes to a good home and the future owner looks after it as well as you have.

    Sad to see it go, but also good that you are selling it. 7 1/4 inch gauge Tich’s are quite capable and good locomotives, and as you said, Shame to keep it on a bench.

    Hmm. Looking at that track in your back garden,it occurs to me that was a rather involved process putting the whole thing together. Would you be willing to reminisce on details ? Like what you used for track,sleepers,written sources for such things as how to properly create the reverse curve you spoke of ? Bedding beneath the sleepers? Bending the track ? Oxy acetylene or blacksmith coal ? Things you would have done differently as you learned ? Any oopsies ? Any things to avoid ? Things you are particularly proud of ? Any idea how much it cost back when ? How long it took,how involved ?
    Not a project for the fainthearted. Would you be willing to tackle such again ?
