- How to make and upholster a professional looking seat cushion, even if you're a beginner. No sew! That means no sewing machine or special tools required. The only tools you'll need are scissors and a stapler. I also show you how to create clean and modern box pleat upholstery corners on fabric or leather.
Want to know more about the DIY wood Bookshelf / Bench I created the cushion for? I built it myself using my @sawstop jobsite table saw. I'm sharing the whole building process (along with free building plans) over on SawStop's channel. Click the link below to check it out!

I made a sewing stool with hinged lid using similar method at school 45 years ago. However I drilled two large holes to allow the foam to recover its shape after sitting on it . I used a ribbon and upholstery domed pins instead of staples and lined the centre with a duster . You’ve still produced a great job.
I loved your seat cushion video!
Well done!
I never made a video, but I do understand all the time and work involved. So with that said, thank you for this wonderfully produced video, especially the second half explaining the corner fold.
You need to add a hole in bottom board to vent the trapped air.
Why would this be necessary (just asking since I plan on trying this)
Yes! Good point. That would help with the slow deflation when I sit on tje cushion
I saw that too and was about to ask the same question. A hole in the bottom board to vent the trapped air sounds like a good, simple solution.
Can anyone explain what this cut hole would look like ? I’m struggling with this exact scenario.
Like your work! And ... awesome outfit, pretty with that hair color!! Thanks for being here and inspiring!
Love the color choice and texture of the seat cushion. Fabulous tutorial..Thank you😍!
Great video, and I liked how you re-di the corner on the box as a recreation!
Nicely done Elisha! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
You did very nicely!
Lady that’s great work 👍
Thanks for putting this together. So useful as am trying to fix my bench upholstery.
Excellent, thanks for the detailed instructions.
Nice Docs, and great project
probably coincidence but you always post exactly what I need to learn!
I, too, recommend pulling out and repositioning.
Great instructions, THANK YOU .
Very good 👏👏👏
I was looking a good video of this and nothing then this beuty pops up in my notifications wow just wow just what i was looking for thanks
That is literally the same foam, batting, and vinyl I used recently for my bench. 🙂
Great project! Nice work.
Cheers
Good work

Great explanation of dealing with those pesky corners!
Приветствую !!! Отличная работа, всё супер 👍!!
Hi Lisa from Spain
Cant find the video for the bookshelf bench video. Am I missing something?
At 2:40 it sounds like you start to bring up a tip for if you're using slippery material for the cover, but then the line after that got cut in post. If so, would you be up for sharing what that was?
What you’ll want to do if the material is slippery is use some type of an adhesive- Most people use a spray type adhesive- to glue the foam unto the material so it stays in place. Pretty sure that’s what she was probably gonna say. Speaking from experience. I hope that helps.
You're such a talented person, love watching your videos 👍
I wonder if there's some crazy Japanese origami method for making the coverings on those cushions.
👍👍👍
Very nice and informative vid. Thanks.
What's the brand/model of stapler you're using?
Great bench/ bookshelf! I want to make these. Do you have the youtube video link? I can't seem to find it on SawStop's page. Thanks!
Great video. If one decides not to attach the cushion to the bench, is there a risk of the staples scratching the top of the bench? If so, how does one mitigate this?
Can you share what stapler this is?
I am enjoying your videos, but I cringe every time you omit using a push stick. Be safe
This channel used to be good till corporate sponsorship took over it. I get you need money to pay for stuff so why not but your credibility goes to shat. Hell If a company would pay for half the things I'm my house I would do it also I don't blame you but the channel is just corporate sponsorship now!
I'm guessing Steve, here, doesn't have many friends. Loosen up, bro.
Nicely done...thanks!
Thank you
