Big "handing my little brother a controller that isn't plugged in so he can pretend he's playing too" energy
Like the episode of The Simpsons when Marge helped Bart help her around the kitchen lol. So cute. 😂
I mean... 😂😂😂
real
😂😂😂😂😂
where is the "I tried and rated 30 of my moms dishes" video
Death wish
No point cause they'd all be S tier
I would have at least liked to see them enjoy the food, not just the video cutting off when it's done.
Mother's day is coming, this would be a cool concept 8)
They'd be like "We rate dogs" ratings. They're good dishes, Brent.
I love the “that’s actually 5 eggs” and she’s like “actually fourrrrreeee” cooked you my man
time stamp godammit??
@@momo-rc8on 0:49 (I’m guessing OP didn’t put a time stamp because it’s so early in the video)
@@Keyanna64 thx
"you know what mandu is, right?"
"do you know kimchi?"
your face was absolutely cracking me up hahaha
10:06 lmao
kudos to the camera person bringing it in, too lmao
Mama Cho cuts with the skill of a mom who's been cooking all her life, its so wholesome
love it when sungwon to have cut/chop things. i can feel his unease doing it.
This comment has such a menacing aura 😭😂
Lmaoo
This is his Mom commenting 100 percent
As someone who also dislikes cutting things for cooking, relatable lol. But I also want to see Sungwon level up in his cooking skills! It's great that he's doing these cooking eps with his mom so she can teach him her recipes :')
"TOP SECRET. Don't watch this video. Turn it off" 😂
You've got that industrial size gochuJang
For me, definitely, but I've seen literal buckets of the stuff in the Korean stores. They usually put the industrial size stuff near the bags of rice. Enough to fill a hot tub with tteokbokki 😁
Makes sense for restaurants
Noice.
Probably from costco
@@dipdinger Not just for restaurants. Not every korean family, but a lot of korean families including mine get the big ass tub because we go through it so quickly.
I think every parent has a hard boiled egg technique they swear by, it's so nice of them all to just want us to enjoy good eggs
Ein gutes Ei heilt die Seele
@@Tis-I-Linkdid Sun Tzu say that?🤔
“Always garlic”
So true
That thumbnail looks like ProZD did something bad and now his mother is scolding him in front of everyone lmao
Your mom is a wizard. She took all those ordinary ingredients and some store-bought ramen and turned it all into something that looks amazing *and* delicious.
That's cooking man. It's real magic.
"Do you know kimchi?"
"Oh, shhh. Stop" 😂❤
Your mama is so cute, I loved her little laugh after lighting the stove lol. Great instructions, I’ll make this in this weird cold weather we have in spring ❤ please tell her that her hair looks fabulous and she is adorable!
I didn't think I could love a series more than your Let's Try series, but anything with Mama Cho is an easy winner.
Also your mom has huge "season until your ancestors tell you to stop" energy that I absolutely adore and that I think cooking TH-cam needs way more of. Absolutely gonna try this and the mapo tofu when I go to h mart next!
The only way to learn seasoning is to try seasoning that way.
You'll have some under seasoned meals
You'll have some over seasoned meals
But eventually, you learn it all and can season by feel
I can't remember the last time I didn't just.... add seasoning until it was correct
"Hello"
"HeLLoOoO" 😂
slap
Dungeon Meshi Ah, Dungeon Meshi.
every master was once a student
meanwhile Sungwon voiced a dwarf who can make dishes out of monster parts.
@10:09 the art direction your cameraman/woman executed with the zoom in for a more dramatic reaction was perfect 😂
I was so thankful to discover Tteokbokki once I started living near a Korean market, it's now my favorite food! Watching you two make it made me smile, it was very homey and comforting to see a brief window into your life. Wishing you all the best!
SungWon's look of utter offense when she asked if he knew what mandu is LMAO 😭 as always this looked really tasty.
Hey, late but I didn't get the chance to so congrats on the voice acting role ‼️ you make us all so proud
What role?
All of them, clearly
@@Reem-uo9jj They’re probably referencing his role as Senshi in the anime Delicious in Dungeon/ Dungeon Meshi on Netflix
Mama Cho's so good at cooking! I love seeing Korean dishes as a home cook would do it. I'm glad you're learning from her, she's a treasure to see pop up on my timeline.
Y’all so cute 🥺 I love cooking with my mom and these videos remind me of her! It would be fun to see you try the food in the video too!!
My mom does the same thing, using anchovy+kelp broth for the sauce. It really does add a lot of depth of flavor. You could probably just use some instant hondashi or something instead of preparing the broth yourself, though. That would also probably make it easier to make a thick sauce rather than the soupier type, though it looked like the sauce thickened up quite a bit in the final image.
Also, 10:07 that look of indignation, as if there's anyone with even the tiniest speck of Korean blood who doesn't know what mandoo is. "Do you know kim-CHEE" 😂
Dried anchovies and dried kelp are a bit of a pain to find in my area for decent prices so I use some of a chicken or vegetable dried stock cube.
You're both lefthanded? 😍 My people!
This is so sweet. Love from Canada
I love cooking mama
Our mom was like that's enough spice for 10 people xD
We tend to make ours with kimchi and more water, with a TON of ramyeon and rice cakes. Sometimes spam or sausage, too hahaha
I like adding prawn gyozas or veg dumplings to mine, after I fry them a bit in a pan first :3
Your mom has real sharp knife skills. I have never been able to be that rapid and precise. The years of practice and experience that must've taken... it's very impressive.
This has become my favorite video series on the channel.
went to Chicago for a kpop concert & ended up ordering Tteokbokki and more from Sshiyal (hours away). Best food I ever had. Always wanted to make my own
Thank you for sharing your mom's recipe! I actually make tteokbokki fairly regularly but always wonder why it doesn't taste quite right. I realized watching this video that there are a few steps I can change or improve upon (like the stock being made from anchovies and kombu). Thank you for the tips and the great vibes!
This is my favorite food ever, my dad makes it’s a little too sweet but nothing beats a Korean parent making your favorite Korean food!
Thank you for this! So funny tteokbokki story: Once HMart opened in our area I went down to check it all out. I knew little of the culture or food. There was a display of treats near the register. So I picked up some for our family to try. The tteokbokki was there too and I picked some up as well thinking it was a sweet. 😂
Damn, that thumbnail had me thinking you got grounded
I love the relationship between you and your mom. It's so heartwarming to see you two and it genuinely makes me smile. Don't ever lose this :)
You're a lucky dude. I used to cook with my mom and I miss it so much, she passed away a few months ago. It's nice seeing you guys hanging out and making food together. Great video.
You can even get gochugang in Scotland now.
We read 'fermented', we buy
CORN SYRUP! My mom also uses it in korean cooking! I thought I was crazy.
Hello sir, I've been following your work for years, and i was so glad when you made your big break with Borderlands 3 and GoW Ragnarok. I'm just like you, but I'm Chinese Aussie, and i consider you an awesome role model because i want to be like you someday and become an actor, but i have no idea where to start, or if a son of a simple Chinese working class family could even make it very far in the entertainment industry, but you've given me hope to dare to dream.
Thanks bro, i wish you all the best in your journey
I like all the additions Mama Cho made to this classic, I'll have to try
Sungwon: uhh actually FIVE eggs
Mom: ... no, it's four. these are each a half
Sungwon: oh.
The Good Old Spicy Rice Cakes' best part: the Fish Cakes
I appreciate the boiled egg tutorial because god damn I fuck it up each time I try
I missed if she suggested putting it in cold or already boiling
"Nice job... Kind of."
Brutal.
Love this as a direction for the channel
Man that looks way hardier than any tteokbokki I've ever had! Feels more like a meal this way instead of an appetizer
Yeah there's a lot more in this one than what I usually see... though the one I like usually has either gimmari or some buchimgae on top for crunch
btw it's hearty not hardy when describing a meal
I'm enjoying this journey of yours! Your knife skills will improve over time, just keep cooking and cutting!
These videos are always the best ❤ this kind of cooking content just feels way more natural and uncomplicated, makes me really wanna try the recipe !
I love and appreciate these videos with your mom. Wonderfully wholesome and informative.
These videos are precious. Your mom is such a treasure
It looks amazing, and it was fun seeing y'all cook. Also, seeing you stand behind there with your hands behind your back like a manager who doesn't know what the employees actually do made me realize that I do that exact same pose whenever I am in my Grandmother's kitchen.
Mama Cho “oh nice job!… kinda” 🫠lol so cute!
why am i so late to this series? i love this. i grew up watching maangchi so this feels like i'm learning to cook from an auntie all over again
The way he said “hello” in her voice followed by Mama Cho’s reaction 😂
This made me cry because I lost my mom last year yesterday 😢. We used to cook so many things together
I love the Cooking with Mama Cho series, please keep making them! I can't wait to try these myself under her expert advice!
This tteokbokki is more of a complete meal than most other styles
She is so cute, like giving you little compliments. I WISH i was taught so gently lol. I loved my german grandma, but she was a demon with kitchen instructions 😂
This was such a relaxing watch and I honestly feel like I could kill this dish now. S tier instructions and tips.
this makes me want to help my mom with cooking more, very wholesome
3:47 "everybody is different" -wise korean mom
Also, dried shrimp is great to use if you don't have anchovies. Discovered that by accident once. Her recipe looks really good, would love to have some 😋
Ooh, I love tteokbokki! The way I usually make it is a lot simpler though, I just make a sauce with dashi powder, chicken bouillon and gochujang, then add the rice cakes, green onions and imitation crab and boil until the rice cakes are soft. I'm gonna have to try this recipe though cause that looks amazing! Never would have even thought of adding eggs!
Your mom needs her own cooking channel on TH-cam since she is funny and adorable.
Please make it happen.
the lack of eating footage leads me to believe they forgot to record before they just demolished it lol
Mama Cho is delightful. I love this, the atmosphere is so chill :>
Tteokbokki is my favorite! So glad to see you guys making it!!
"You can buy anywhere." Really? LOL 0:20
He looks just like his mom, cute
I am very exited for this. I really needed to learn this dish.
... Mama's meshi got my palms sweaty, knees spaghetti. That's a spicy rice cake! >)X^D
This was so cute and amazing love the connection between you two
"I'm not going to remember that, bc I'm doing this right now. But its on video so" xD
That sounds good. Gonna add this to my food playlist so i can make it later.
I wish that he would do his voice from Delicious in Dungeon while cooking.
So warm and heartwarming. Puts me in the mood to make a non-spicy version…
Wish I could cook with my mom again. What a wonderful video. Thanks for posting!
You gotta show yourself eating it next time! It looks so good. I'd love to have my mom's tteokbokki about now
Happy mother's day to Mama Cho!
I love how the real reason is make a video like this is to remember the recipe for myself years later …. Not to educated 😂
This is awesome. Thank you for sharing ProzD's mum.
Keeping spices in a random Prego jar is such a classic Asian-American mom move that I got blasted back to my childhood seeing that
Your mom is fantastic. Love these videos.
Your mom getting that mise en place, I could never be so patient. It's why she's the best 👍
dudeee!!! i love these1!! my mom's friend makes em all the time!!! they look soo good in this video!!!!
Do you think he also plays the delicious in dungeon sound effect in his head every time he cooks now? It seems only fair
Feels criminal that we didn’t get to see y’all enjoying it idk why
Tteokbokki is probably my favorite Korean food. Love to see it prepared!
I love this meal! Easily one of my favorites.
At this point, I expect Uncle Roger to say *Fuiyoooooh!* to these videos and we can start calling her Aunty Cho!
New favorite cooking tutorials ☺️
채소와 떡, 어묵을 먼저 볶는 방식은 한번도 해본 적이 없는데 좋네요! 채소를 기름에 볶음으로써 맛이 더 풍부해질 것 같아요. 좋은 레시피 감사합니다!
We need the taste reactions at the enddd
The sound and rhythm of chopping is wonderful to me.
excellent wholesome cooking content
Love the cheery calm background music
This is a great series.
It looks so good it makes me wish I didn't hate seafood.
