Man, coming to these videos as I'm learning microstation in my civil engineering course and seeing all these old comments makes it feel like I'm consulting a wise wizard or mage for the ancient wisdom he possesses
Mr., I can not thank you enough for this videos, probably the only good tutorials of Microstation on the web. Please don't take them out! have a happy new year!
This is an excellent overview for one who knows MS but hasn't used this for awhile! After all Bentley are as generous with their s/w to users, i.e. for a trial! Unlike Autodesk has always been. That said USTN has always been the better s/w to use, over ACAD! #jussayin.
These videos were originally posted for Civil Engineering students, who love bulldozers. Quoting Ben and Jerry (the ice cream guys) "If it's not fun, why do it?"
This tutorial is for microstation V8i, which is good, the last release until they changed the "ribbons" style menu (Microsoft) which I think is bad. Ribbons lack a lot in the menus.
I just landed here but to those guys talking about great lord Autocad i say they know nothing about Microstation, i guess they may as well prefer to reject a well paid job when asked to change their autodesk god for this better tool...
Is it possible to watch a video on "how to draw an arrow on MicroStation" ? I went through all 19 tutorials and none of them show how to make a simple arrow pointing in any direction nor how to modify them. Any one here knows hot to draw an arrow on 2D? thank you, I would really appreciate it
+pep guardiola It's been a while since I used Microstation, so I'm foggy on exactly what menus to use, but... In Microstation arrows are saved as cells and called terminators. You can create your own, but standard arrows come already created. When using dimensioning tools the arrows show up automatically. You can look through the settings and menus under dimensions to set your preferences. Here's a better explanation: communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/w/microstation__wiki/13936.add-arrow-heads-to-lines-or-arcs
maybe for 3d design this program is good, but if you just creating a 2d design; this program just make you desperate... too many command to do a little thing such as make a dimension leader. well, correct me if i'm wrong... :-)
I like this instructor. I'm using AC Civil3d/Inventor/Standard, but new company uses Micro.. this is very very helpful. Thank you!

Can the background be changed to white (like in AutoCAD)?
What mouse do you recommend?
Thanks for the great video.

Sick dozer, brah.
AutoCAD still the best in Drafting, Microstation is about clicking which will be time consuming, unlike AutoCAD you can type which is faster
how do you export as a PDF file? is there a way?

Hii,, Can you upload videos for Bridge/Viaduct 3D modelling as soon as possible. Please.
Utilities - Image - Save gives you the option to export as an image file.

the problem is some companies force you to use such programs *_*
I hate using this program, AutoCad is so much better for 2D drawings.
