  • I've been replenishing my stock of bath and body products and I thought you make like to see something other than soap, so here's a video of how I make my solid bubble bars. I love these bubble bars, they foam really well, smell fantastic, and do away with those pesky plastic bottles.

    Although my cold process soap making tutorials are of a tutorial nature, they are intended for people who have a good understanding of making cold process soap. The information given is based on what works for me, however, there are lots of variables associated with cold process soap making and I, therefore, take no responsibility for the results achieved when using the techniques or methods explained in these tutorials. Cold process soap involves the necessary use of sodium Hydroxide (lye) which is a very dangerous substance. Before attempting and cold process soap making you should ensure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures and always wear the correct safety equipment when making soap.

    I got some of these for my daughter at Christmas and she loved them. They definitely didn't get used correctly as we don't have a bath, but she had lots of fun with them!

    This was really interesting and informative! I like watching whatever you make -- soap, bath bombs, bubble bars, other things that spark your creativity to give you ideas for soap designs. You're one of my favorite parts of the weekend -- eating breakfast and watching one of your videos.
    And, I'd also like to say THANK YOU for respecting the copyrights of the person you got the recipe from. As a writer, whose income depends on people respecting copyrights, this means a lot at a time I really needed it. Thank you! ♥

      Thanks so much for your lovely comment Andi and yes copyright is very important to me, I tend to avoid a lot of Facebook groups and things now as it makes me upset when I see people copying the discs and things I design. So it's easier for me not to look

    Ohhh I'm suddenly feeling motivated to mix up a batch of bath truffles with cocoa butter and something delicious-smelling. It's always a pain to put on the respirator and clean up the surfactant dust afterwards, but it's always worth it! By the way, I get the best results by putting my truffles or bars in a mesh bag and hang it under the faucet so the water runs over it. It maximizes agitation, I guess, and I get the same amount of bubbles using a bit less product.

    I agree, a bath over a shower anytime (in fact I don’t own a shower)
    Bubbles over bombs EVERYDAY. (Dislike bombs)
    Most importantly (and I don’t know the real terms.) slippy over sticky. I like my bubble bath not to adhere me to the plastic, but allow me to slide and move!
    I really appreciate the deviation to bubble bars, it showed me a craft that might be possible in a small space… that said… doesn’t showcase your skills… so don’t stay away from soaping too long.
    PS your little bars of bulbous 3d clouds… adorable! Perhaps an occasional series in your shapes and uses?

    • @IDreamInSoap
      @IDreamInSoap  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much Johanna, ooh no worries, all mainly soap here. I agree with you I really do get bath bombs, I'm always, well, do I put it in before I get in, but then what? do put it in when I'm in there? there's no bubbles, I like bubbles and the way they make the water feel, also I don't like a bath where the water is dyed an often quite strong colour. But I know a lot of people do like them, so maybe I'm (and you too :-) ) a bit odd

    I really enjoyed this video, thank you! One question I have is do these have to be shrink wrapped in plastic to keep them from reacting to the air? I'd like to try to make some for myself but want to avoid excess plastic where I can! Thank you for your informative videos

    • @IDreamInSoap
      @IDreamInSoap  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much, no you don't need to shrink wrap them, but they do need some protection. I don't shrink wrap mine, I use a natureflex bag (compostable, biodegradable) for mine

    Thank you Lisa! I enjoy all your videos and explanations! What I would appreciate is some trouble shooting video e.g. how to make nice round bathbombs that don't flatten while drying without a hydraulic press - I use these acrylic "christmas" balls molds :) And regarding soaping - my embeds split from the surrounding soap. I've used extruder discs to make bunny & bear & wolf embeds (used the same recipe for the embeds as for the soap). Soap dough was about 1,5 days old when I made the soap loaf. But it seems that when the soap is in use for some days the embeds either fall out (bear fell out - was appr. 1/3 of the width and height of the soap), or with the bunny the soap splits around some edges. Can embeds be too big? Is the shape important? How to make the embeds stick/combine properly in the soap? I would be happy if you can give some tips please. Thank you! 🤗

    • @IDreamInSoap
      @IDreamInSoap  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Barbara. I do try to give lots af tips in my videos as I go through any process. I guess I'm just never going to hit on the issues everyone has. Bath bombs that flatten to me would sound like maybe they are a bit too wet. Can you try reducing the amount of water or oil in them. Embeds shouldn't fall out of the soap. The shape shouldn't matter. Maybe you're letting them get too dry before putting them in the soap. If you make them, try to keep them covered until you need them and, if in doubt, spray with a bit of distilled water a few minutes before putting them in

    That bubble bars were interesting so would bath bombs
    Since you design a lot of scrappers and extruders and molds it would ba interesting to se just a small part of your design process. You probably don’t want to give too much proprietary information
