In about 1977 I got a 63 Studebaker R2 Avanti with a blown engine. I wanted another R2 engine and not just any 289 Stude. I located and bought what I presumed was the last "service kit" for the car, a brand new unassembled engine all in factory packaging.....brand new block, crank, pistons, valves, rings, bearings, etc, etc. Every part brand new except bolts.
@Savetherust Studebaker V-8s are far more fuel efficient than the big three. A 259 c.i. two barrel with overdrive in a Lark can get 30 mpg highway....the Avanti has 10.25 to one compression, 4 barrel carb, is running a different camshaft and will likely be lower geared, all reducing efficiency in exchange for horsepower. Half of them had Paxon McCullough superchargers as well. Trade all of that for the nearly identical running gear from the Lark would certainly serve you better that somebody's backwards move converting it to Chinese electrical components and rendering it virtually useless. Just a side note...though always a Studebaker fan, my Avanti was one of the least comfortable cars to sit in for long drives....perhaps the long, frequent and expensive stays at the stupid charging stations will be a pleasant surprise. Personally, I like electric vehicles. Love bikes. My friend drag races them impressively. There is zero chance that a total shift to electric cars will happen in the foreseeable future.

@@jeffhammers5677 i defintely agree there wont be a shift to electric cars in the future. the Grid cant handle it.
O well, now you can start on the 45 adventure bike!!

Hope your video exposure leads to finding parts to complete this
i'm sure it will .
Now’s your opportunity to start your Official Serial Number for Save the Rust custom built engines 😉
“StR-0001”
