The Bowtech Reckoning (35") was released in April this year; as other Bowtechs uses a rotating module which lets you to adjust the draw lenght without a bow press, and you can also switch from comfort to speed mode moving another bolt (again, without using a press). But the main innovation that introduces is the DriveCam, which lets you to move the cams from right to left just using a allen key. This system doesn't require a press and replaces the yoke system for lean tunning. Is expected from Bowtech the release of a new, longer axle to axle target bow with the CamDrive system tyo either replace the Fanatic or the BT Mag, and a new hunting bow with the DriveCam ro replace the current Realm series (Realm, Realm X, Realm SR6 and Realm SS).
I think that the Reckoning is a pivotal point in the industry, because if success (which seems to) will open the gates to a generation of bows which no longer requires bow press for tunning and adjusting outside replacing the strings and cables. That would improve the usability and quality of life for customers and increase their appealing as second hand bows. I would like to see the reaction from PSE, Hoyt, Mathews, Prime and Elite to this changes, because for people which live far away from bow workshops that ease of tuning could be a strong selling point.

Hello from Oklahoma USA. I watch all your videos, very good bow reviews! Bowtech's sales rep for your area needs to go back to business school. I have been looking at that same model on ebay. You saved me form making a mistake. Thank you so much for your honesty. Keep doing what you do. I'll keep watching and giving the thumbs up!!!

Bowtech have been the most innovative compound bow manufacturers & they continue to impress with offering genuine advancements in technology that other manufacturers have discreetly emulated. This is after all, a speed bow, so you certainly get that, but pay the price with the draw cycle. Bowtech are also offering a few really nice target bows with expectations of a longer version of their lovely new Reckoning model due soon. Respect.

So you buy a Blowtech and you are used as an alpha/beta tester for Blowtech.
No thanks, I prefer Bows that don't blow up in my face

It is unfortunate that Bowtech have this reputation of having fragile limbs. For the record, I don't shoot Bowtech. I believe they have rectified this old issue by now manufacturing their own limbs ? Perhaps someone could confirm this ? Either way, there is no denying their contribution to innovation .

@@kennethosborne6497 I saw a Bowtech RPM360 blowup at full draw last year.. That was unpleasant, fortunately/luckily no one was hurt.

Hi Stephen the cable guard bolt is a security torx , they're available from any good hardware store incase you ever need to remove one.
Glad to here you've still got the custom full throttle, shoot mine more often than any of my other bows.

Been shooting one at 65 for the last eight years.... Yep, he's right, stiff back end and absolutely NO valley, if you relax at all it's going to yank you down.... (You wanna talk shoulder pressure)... Lol.. Still one of the fastest bows you can shoot, to me as a hunter, it's worth it. Super tight pin gaps are nice ya know, Midwest hunting my 20,30,40 are all three generally on the deer. No failures ever, but someone looking to buy, remember there is very stiff back end as he said and again absolutely NO valley.... However, put string stop posts one hole beyond where they belong and BAM, You have a valley.

Let me see some pictures of it. If it's in new condition I'll buy it from you. If you know how to tune them you can take the harshness out of the draw cycle. Been shooting Bowtech since 2009 and will shoot nothing else. I own two of these now and love shooting them.

Funny to see the comments on here. This bow is 7 years old just like the issues bowtech has had with their limbs. If im not mistaken bowtech has had bow of the 2 times out of the last 3 from outdoor life with the reign 6 and now the sr6, scoutlook just gave them bow of the year, and i believe field and stream gave them bow of the year on the reign 6 as well, i dont think they have named a winner this year as of yet. 2018 was the year of the triax. Im not going to bash PSE, i think they have made huge progress with the evolve and the evoke, both great bows. Mathews and hoyt dont need to be mentioned because they are always going to make a good if not great bow. But in the states the top dogs are 100% hoyt, Mathews, bowtech in popularity and id bet in that order but every year bowtech takes a bigger piece of that market share with their ease of tuning, great shooting bows, especially since the reign series.

2020 ... Bowtech gets bow of the year for the Revolt. 2019 Bow of the year with the Realm. Hoyt is a dumpster fire right now. Losing sales the last 10 years. Mathews lost sales the last 2 years. I think it's due to the amount of bow companies out there right now. Elite, Xpedition, Obsession, Martin making a comeback, Athens Archery making waves ... alot of good bows form all of the companies mentioned. Elite is HUGE outside of NY where they are made. LOL Hard to sell in NY but a great bow. The new Kure is simply amazing.

For a long time now I`ve been following your vids, and To be honest, I think YOU are the Best guy to give advice as I think you come across Sooo truthfully and you say what it is, even if it`s bad, I like that a lot!! I`ve got x 7 bows and I`m about ready to buy my Next, I like the Bowteck Reckoning very much as compared to others at the moment and if you Pm me, please?? I`d like to buy from you !! I have a friend that bought a Carbon PSE, Now I like PSE as a rule, but he had problems with the String Stop coming loose Taking his skin off his arm after only a few shots, then tighten , then do it again and again, Oh sure he now has Bluetack to keep it in place , but I think that Little grub screw under pressure Isn`t enough to hold it? we`ll see ?? and Is the reason I don`t want an PSE, or at least it`s put me off >> for the moment ?? >> Bluey, Oh Yes, I`m a Lefty??

Good review as always Stephen. That bow cant be shot much! Bowtechs have a serious problem with color failure on the limbs and that one is flawles. You can not change the drawlength without bowpress thow. the screw that holds the module is under the limb and cant be turned.
You should look at the new Bowtech Reckoning that have a revolutionary cam system that allow you to move the cam left to right with just the turn of a hexwrench. Keep the good reviews going. Best regards from Sweden!

If that's all you want is a name, then Mathews is for you. They are #1 in advertisement only. They offer nothing compared to other bows out there. Do NOT limit yourself to one company because you're missing ALOT in archery by doing so. Remember ... Mathews doesn't pay for all of the advertising they do ... you do.

I shoot a Bowtech Experience (replaced the insanity) and the way you describe the draw cycle is right on. Feels a lot heavier than it is. I have shot my friend's Hoyt Helix ultra at 75#, and it feels easier to draw than my bow at 67.

Awkward Seal - The truth of the matter is, compound bows are pretty darn good these days. Bow manufacturers can’t get away with making a bad bow anymore. Competition is fierce and market is finite.
Even entry level bows are getting really, really good!

@Steve S PSE .. Parts Scatter Everywhere or Point Shoot Explode is PSE to the T!! Quite frankly, I'm tired of repairing them. I'm also getting tired of replacing Mathews limbs as well. Every bow company has had an issue with limbs at times. I can tell you Bowtech's issues are at a 4% failure. Think about how many bows have been sold as well. I wish PSE would stop over rating their bows IBO speeds though. We have had Full Throttle's in the shop and not one of them would go over 312fps at 30" draw, 350gr arrow and 70lbs. Ridiculous.

This seems like a pointless review. This bow is 7 years from the current crop of flagship bows. The only place you're finding it is on the second hand market. Holding it up to anything but the speed bows from that time would be the only fair comparison. Very petty. Personally, a second hand ,7 year old speed bow would be a long way from my "must have" list. Regardless of manufacturer....
