As a Junior Developer, I just wanted to say thank you. This FREE course is pure gold. Having only watched the first 4 videos, it is clear to see that you're a true proffesional web developer / designer.
Any Junior that is lucky enough to work under you, is a very very lucky individual and I hope they realise the position they're in.
Thanks again for this amazing course Kevin 👍

Kevin is such a perfect example of how there are good teachers and then there are GREAT teachers. I've been using WordPress and various builders personally and semi-professionally for a while now and have a "working knowledge" of HTML and CSS. So of course I'm familiar with the first three lessons of this course and the Box Model. And yet, here comes the light bulb moment in this video. Every once in awhile, I will struggle with spacing issues on Web sites and I can not for the life of me understand why. Enter Kevin's PRESERVE THE BOX teaching in this video. It is often inferred (I see this now) but never "explicitly" stated anywhere that I've come arcross in all my years of watching video, reading, etc. Why? Because so many people teaching and doing tutorials assume knowledge and Kevin is fantastic at NOT doing this. Which is exactly why I continue to follow him and anything he puts out that relates to what I'm trying to accomplish.

@@Gearyco If I may suggest something: when you present section vs containers and how they interact with each other, it would help if you add a light background to both elements (just for education sacks). That way, the "gutter / margin / padding / etc." would appear even more clearly during edit.
Anyway. I'm looking forward to watching this series of videos. It's a precious gift you make to the community with this free course.

Here is another one.. you can use row reverse or even column reverse when using flex in your container to turn your inside elements in the other direction, it's the third icon in the flex direction section of your container. Surely you knew about this one but just in case. Thanks for the tips man!

Keviiiiiiin ... I just can't remember when I felt so foolish, like after watching this video. Now, I have always considered my self as a beginner / noob when it comes to webdesign - but you managed to show how wrong I was :) ... probably just the "B" in the word beginner :) :) :)
Yeah, I'm - but hopefully after watching this video I can write I WAS ... I was one of those who manually moved pictures, "cards" then later adding classes because I didn't like it. So yes - after watching this video I felt really ashamed :) :) :)
Thx Kevin ... looking forward to the remaining episodes. GREAT CONTENT !!!
PS : didn't know that something like COLUMNS existed in CSS. Like gaps - I knew them only from GRID, but didn't know, they can be now applied just like that in a builder (without telling it to be GRID). How do you keep up with this = do you like "follow CSS" and when ever a new feature is added, you go and test it / work with it ???

Good question. In Bricks, “root” is a reference word for the current class or ID so you don’t have to write it. It’s just a shortcut term. It’s not the same as “:root”

This is amazing content. I am blown away. Everything I have done has been with Elementor. I will be making the change. Are there "non-chump" ways of migrating from Elementor to BrickBuilder, for example?

Unfortunately, not. You would have to build again from scratch. I wouldn’t bother rebuilding old sites necessarily unless it’s your own personal site. Just start using a better builder going forward.

Hey Kevin will this 101 also talk about Content and SEO type of stuff or is this only about the development part?
I find SEO so confusing and while there are a lot of guides, well yours are generally just better.
For example how would one optimize his page for SEO if his business isn't local based? Like a freelancer in webdesign or a shop that delivers nationwide. I feel like the chance to get a high ranking on generic terms is 0 if you don't specialize in a small location.

I have SEO trainings in the inner circle. This course is just covering development mostly.

Css classes are great but if you want to modify the html structure (e.g. add button to the card) you still have to do it like a chump 🙂 cause there are no overwritable components in the Bricks Builder. Did you find an workaround for this?

      Bricks is releasing components soon
