I’m 36 and walked into a petrol station tonight & heard this playing on the radio. I haven’t heard this since the year 2000 when I was 14! My how the world has changed since then 😢
Back in the days that internet was just a distant echo, cellphones didn't exist and MTV was our mirror to the world and I, as a 14 year old had a crush on her, like a million other boys. For some reason I'm crying as I realise those days are gone for good. God I miss them...
I understand what you mean. But , if you think a little more, realize that nostalgia makes you remember only the good things of the past and not the bad.
Around 1999 I was working in a pub kitchen. The side door was open, the sun was shining, I was surreptitiously having a pint, and loving life. This song came on the radio and I turned it up. That was a moment in time, and for years I tried to work out what the song was. This was when Shazam seemed like science fiction. I tried to remember the lyrics. I wonder if Six Pence None The Richer was it. I even listened to compilations albums trying to find it. Eventually, about ten years ago, "sitting down here" popped into my head. I couldn't really make any of the lyrics out in my memory. I Googled it, found it, playing it on TH-cam and felt relief. I'd found the song, almost fifteen years after I heard it that moment when I was still in my teens and having a ball. Anyway, that's an inconsequential about how music is the soundtrack to life.
Glad you found it again 🙂 I've always loved this song but I didn't know who sang it and it took my ages to find it I eventually found it in a charity shop in 2004 and just see the title and thought this has to be it! 🙂
@@mercurytiltswitch5378 I think over the radio on my school bus over 20 years ago. I live in Singapore. It was before the DJs started work so the channel was just playing music without saying the song names and that's why it was so hard to find
My parents bought me a DVD player back in 2004 and it came with an MP3 disc as gift, this song was usually my favorite, it doesn't have any title but shows only as track. Someone borrowed the disc and never returned it, since than I've been trying to find that song but I couldn't and also I forgot the lyrics but I only remember the tune or humming of it. So today, somehow I started humming in my head and decided to use Google sound search and my humming got 21% match and now I'm here happily listening to it after a long time. It's pure good old memories. 😊👍

Certain songs like this one were on repeat for several weeks. They fill me with memories of warm envelopes, printing ink, hot summer and cold winters where, as soon as my bags were empty, I could just go home and enjoy the rest of the Saturday and Sunday off.
Lol there have been snowflakes throughout history and always will be, the only difference is that they now have social media to find like minded people. I work at a hotel as a receptionist; one night we had this guest- a guy from the Netherlands in his 50s. While he was partking his car outside I was able to hear that he'd been listening to music on his way to the hotel and this song was played loud. I enjoyed this surprise as it's not something we'd normally hear playing loudly from cars.

One of the nicest coolest 90s songs, but a sad song too. It's like a mermaid setting by the shore watching her prince, but cannot be with him because people around him won't allow it to happen.

I came here beeing heart broken, I missed this song and felt it after maybe 10 years of not hearing/not realising it. How beautiful feeling... Makes me wanna cry
我大学时代非常喜欢的歌曲,今天在工作电脑看到当时入职时给同事介绍自己用到的这首歌,回来听一下,想起了年轻的自己。我今年34了
It’s 2023 I never get tired to play this song
Such a great masterpiece during my childhood days ❤
This is sooooo brilliant. One of the best songs ever made!
Man I was still a school kid me and others would go to the park and skate no cell phones no internet just there in the moment god I miss it
落ち込んだ時に聴いちゃうCD 自分の中では絶対に外せないアーティスト
I remember this song coming out 1999 i was a dishwasher in a resturante. This would be play mybe on a Saturday night. Just lifted ya to get the work done and get out for the night. A unreal brought me straight back. 90s were my best years. 👍
Such a sweet voice. My teenage years is calling by!
This is under rated should have millions of followers it is a masterpiece
Well this was made before TH-cam , many songs from older times that should have been up there among the best.
Masterpiece is a little far. Happy it makes you feel it is though
What an angel voice! I love this song so badly.
Its on my car playlist too
cool 😎
Year 2000.. The year I fell in love for the first time. Got engaged to her 14 years later. And this song reminds me of such sweet high school memories.
I heard this yesterday in a store. I still remember the chorus.. my childhood song.. ❤

Song of my childhood and I absolutely love it
Absolute tune - after writing hardcore metal for the last 2 decades I always have time for this song!!
I just heard this song on the radio today for the first time in ages and it's been stuck in my head the whole day

I finally found this song in 2024!! Brings me back omg. 😅
My mom and I used to listen to this so long time ago, memories ♡

Eyeball Chambers - Vete a la mierda vomitando pluma!
Brings me back to the days of high school :) . In my 30's today.
This certainly brings back memories.
This Lady has the loveliest voice i have ever listened to no matter how often i here her sing it sends shivers through me Perfect ...
Yeah after a couple of decade I found this! Nostalgia...missing my old days
Не знаю откуда я знаю эту песню. Скорей всего играла на радио. Переносит воспоминаниями назад в прошлое, которое разумеется счастливое и светлое
If this song doesn't scream childhood memory then I don't know what!! This song qas and still is such a banger 🎶🎶
This song brings me straight back to my childhood. Love it! Sad she only made one great track.
Not one. Unforgivable Sinner, Where I'm Headed, Flown Away, You Weren't There, Never To Know, Here We Are...and a long list. She released four albums and has been a judge on The Voice for years.
She has made some classics fella !
@@moisemensah8233 Got 3 on them m8 .
Playing my game album . Superb
The Song has a real feel to it, voicing her worries and doubts, which everyone has about relationships, on both sides, not only her , you really need to hear the song to know whats really going on, love the Song!
Jestem w szoku, udało mi się 1 raz po 21 latach znaleźć tę piosenkę i teledysk, którego nigdy nie widziałem
She has a unique and unusual but beautiful voice that slowly gets into the back of your mind to make you sing along without you realising it
Heard this the other night in my brothers car, and a huge rush of nostalgia hit me! I instantly remembered it was one of my favourite songs as a child! I hadn't heard it since I was 4/5, I'm 30 now! ❤
Such a clever and infectious little song almost compulsive listening. The symbolism is a bonus too.
24 years later still a gem🎉.
Been searching for this song for months. Love this song
Cynthia Khiangte me toooo
Me to, but i searched it for a coupe of hours!
@@tudor5210 i just found it on google by humming 🤣
One of my favorite happy/sad song. Lene's so talented.
I've loved this song for over 30 years and always will
One of the nicest coolest 90s songs, but a sad song too. It's like a mermaid setting by the shore watching her prince, but cannot be with him because people around him won't allow it to happen.
The amount of times I've heard this song over the years and even sang along to it without knowing who it was has baffled me
For years I assumed it was the Coors, until someone at work mentioned to me the name of the girl. Incredible what you find out...
Im 38 now... ooHhhhh damn miss this song !!!!
My cold heart just made me feel some feelings, nah fr last day i was driving around and this came up on the radio, brah i had this youth moment! 😭😭😭 that was a good time. I geuss things where more simpele back then
Still here! Bangin this for al my outlaws! 🥰
I listened to this 25 years ago as a kid in Elementary school. So many memories …
Wonderful song. Thanks. Yvon from France.
