Did you use mesh tape to cover the sides? Those edge spaces between 2 boards

@sheahbutter682 yes, I placed tape on the edges and corners to try and make it look smooth.

What did you use to fill in the holes and what primer did you use prior to painting? Thanks!

I just used masonry putty to fill the holes. Used mesh tape for any joints. Concrete primer (matte latex) as primer.
