- Singapore has strongly condemned the attack at the Ulu Tiram police station in Johor Bahru that left two police officers dead and another injured on May 17. Malaysian authorities have arrested seven individuals with suspected links to terrorist group Jemaah Islamiyah, and a manhunt is underway for 20 more alleged members. CNA's Leong Wai Kit in Johor walks us through the latest developments in Malaysia, from the attack to the subsequent arrests.

Thank you. The government of Singapore are very concerned for the safety of their people while holidaying in JB. We Johoreans are working very closely with the Singapore Government.
While every religion has extremists, Islam currently seems to have the most active members in such groups. I’m a Muslim myself but for some reason, I've developed this fear of being around men in distinct Muslim attire, worrying they might attack (I know I shouldn’t have to think that way). Anyway, I believe the government should reconsider how religious subjects are taught in schools and perhaps filter out inappropriate content from the Quran and hadith for schoolchildren.

He was trying to steal firearms from the police station . The police managed to recover the weapons as he was killed before he managed to flee the scene. So the likelihood is that he was planning to steal weapons to stage a bigger attack elsewhere.
What special interest does singapore have with the incident?
