Doesn't much matter if you win or loose; you make every janky deck fun. Watching your content means a great deal to me; you can light up the darkest and saddest days.
Seth, you are allowed to swing with creatures, even if it isn't lethal immediately. When you have roughly 10000 attackers and the opponent has to trade his entire board to stay alive, it is totally worth it. Just swing the next turn again.
This deck is going to get tweaked a lot and become really good. I'm just reading through the comments right now and there are some really interesting suggestions to try out. Battle Hymn and Haze of Rage could also be potential includes, though Haze of Rage is more of an overkill card than anything.
Well, a haze in your deck might make only 5-6 creatures lethal, meaning less merfolk games, plus that buyback could be utilized pretty well in this deck.
Really loved the deck. I don't play modern but I have the 8 wackers, 4 bolts, and 2 frenzy's. So I might go out and build the deck. Loved the vid! Thank you Seth!
I feel like the deck definitely wants Faithless Looting to dig for frenzy. Plus, like another person said, Skirk Prospector is better than Cantor. We've really come far from the days of GRN spoiler season where people thought the best use to frenzy was to donate it to your opponent...
@@rexone9564 then how about insolent neonate? Can sac it early to dig for a frenzy, sac it while frenzy is out to a draw a land that's on top of your library, and otherwise a 1 drop creature with menace
Seth, you have to start waiting for at least Nourishing Shoal or something in game one. The opponent wasn't even at starting life total so it was even less likely that they would've won. I'm not saying sit through the entire combo but at least try to play the percentage points combo decks give you.
For a no budget version would fetchlands and surgicals be good in the main cause surgical would be a redraw while going off that you could target your own fetches with to thin and shuffle your deck and worry less about lands being stuck on top
This deck is so sweet! Even though you got such bad luck (impossible land streaks & perfect terminus top decks), but the deck STILL put up an impressive fight, even in those situations!
Manamorphose is a must add to the non budget version it helps us cycle as well as preserve mana in the early game and is just a free card in the late game
@@cameronhendricks5967 as in, cast manamorphose from your hand to draw the second land and keep the frenzy going? That doesn't work, and I'm not sure what else you could mean. Manamorphose is not great with frenzy.
Not too long ago in Standard, I faced a Mono-red Aggro deck that managed to get out three Steam-Kins with Frenzy and it was madness. I lost so hard. It was gross to see aggro get so much value. This is basically what happened that game but supercharged with Modern choices. This could be a real thing. Agree with others that a full version would have red fetches to thin lands and that Skirk Prospector should replace Wild Cantor. Also I'm not too sure what Devastating Summons is doing in the deck. I think those should just be the Faithless Lootings. Awesome deck!
19:25 is lethal if you sac both enchantments so u can lightning bolt the face, if it's a counter u win anyway, if it's a creature you win with exact 16 dmg
Instead of Madblind Mountain for budget shuffleland, I've been using Jund Panorama. It works REALLY well, untap land most of the time and can crack it like relic any time to get a real mountain, and shuffle.
This deck is nuts. Super off the wall and super agro which means super hard to figure out game 1 and winning game 1 makes the set so much in your favor
Play Fetchlands, Skirk Prospector, Faithless Looting, 1-2 Devil's Play and maybe add manamorphose or Battle Hymn. I would Love to see a very explosive Version with Spitit Guides and Pact of the Titan, but it wouldn't be very effective i guess
game 2 was agonising. Seth, you don't need to kill in one hit! you can attack with most of your team, kill some/most of theirs, still have blockers, then kill on the next turn. That is a thing you can do in magic! I know it feels good to be able to combo out, as I used to play storm, play food chain in canlander, and flash hulk in auslander (yes i get it im a bad man), but the end goal is to win (all the better if you have fun along the way). I'm sure the opponent was wondering for some time why he wasn't dead yet. By the time you said "I think we might have him" leading on to the "dead please?" you had so much power in play that they went to -21 after all blocks. 37 unblocked damage. Sometimes you're a genius seth, and others...
I don't think you should kick the bushwhacker when alone or with one creature which can already attack. You waste one precious mana which can be useful, as in match 5, game 1.
Very cool and fun deck. Would be a blast to play. Neonate and skirk prospecter look beter in the deck. Maby something like elixir of. Immortality could be good a shuffle and makes shure you have more "spels" in your deck.
Well, this deck looks like it has so much room to improve! Im thinking of Skirt Prospetor over the Cantors, so we can sac other goblins for mana and Insolent Neonate for a free loot. Right now my biggest concern is being able to find Frenzy and play it fast as concistent as possible, but besides faithless looting (which has the side benefit of flashback, so you could use it to advance through a land on the top of the deck) I can't think of anything else to cycle through our deck pre frenzy
Edit: Just saw your non-budget version. I like a couple of Faithless Looting seems good both to find a frenzy and to break up lands when going off. I also think that fetchlands will improve your going off rate tremendously for the shuffle. I think Memnite/Infernal Plunge and Relic are the most expendable slots. Memnite isn't red and cannot be used to ramp into Frenzy. I'd cut that package for Skirk Prospector and 2x Faithless Looting. Relic is good both for the meta and help shuffle but idk if 4x is necessary and maybe I'd consider cutting 1-2 for Pyretic Ritual to replace the Infernal Plunge. I think ditching the Memnites for Skirk Prospector, getting rid of that whole package, getting fetchlands, and a couple Faithless Looting will dramatically decrease the deck's fail rate.
When I was looking at this list my mind started churning about playing experimental frenzy in this kind of shell with either more artifacts like codex shredder, lantern of insight & signal pest to help control top of library to go more in on combo killing of going hella aggro playing fetches/shocks/fast lands with 4x surgical extractions to remove your own non-basics to to thin out the library even further & thus reduce whiffing
That terminus miracle is just karma being returned from that one time you miracles that 5 damage burn spell for the win way back when during that ogre trapping draft deck
Seth the deck is really sweet but I think playing conjurer's bauble and skirk prospector would make it more consistent and awesome, think in that. You could cut infernal plunge for example. 1 or 2 copys of haze of rage can be an awesome option too

Faithless Looting even has the benefit of being cast from the GW through Frenzy (which would be a 3 mana way to remove a land from the top and trigger steam-kin). To be honest I feel like Devastating Summons is worse than a burning spell in this deck... If you don't have "Frenzy" in play or some bushwhacker to kick it does pretty much nothing (i.e. win-more), and even if you have bushwhacker but not enough lands it also does nothing. On top of that, when it's finally cast it can be game-losing if countered. The deck is pretty sweet, though.
I can't help but think a non budget version of this deck playing fetch lands for free shuffles and thinning and maybe splashing something for sideboard cards would be insane
**People putting suggestions for this deck please consider the following** 1. This deck functions on mana efficiency, if your card is clunky or doesn't help make mana at 3 cmc or higher it's not good.(usually) 2. If it's not a red card you need to ask yourself does it lend itself to the overall goal of the deck? To put it simply, Frenzy is the engine and Steamkin is the gas man. Spending mana on a card like Azusa does not trigger the gas man nor does it net much mana once it's played. DON'T DO IT. Just play fetches. 3. Consider the floor of the card rather than the ceiling. As we churn through red spells on might think, "hey we are kinda like storm, let's throw in some Grapeshots." I want you to slow down a minute and remember Frenzy does not let us play from our hand and we are an aggro deck at the core. hi SaffronOlive I hope this message finds you well I must congratulate you on this beautiful creation and I don't have two Madblind Mountain but I do have two Wooded Foothills lying around would it be wise to put them in instead or should I just stick to the original plan and purchase the two Madblind Mountain?
Wooded Foothills is fine. Madblind Mountain is a cute budget option, but I think that fetchlands are better.
In the non budget world, I'd suggest fetchlands, Bloodcrypt and Viscera Seer instead Relic - or perhaps some other card that repeatedly lets you get rid of the top of your library.
@mtggoldfish have you considered wand of vertebrae instead of Tormods?
This looks super fun
Sweet list!
