34 years ago, a girl came into my life and saved me put me back together from my previous relationship. 12 years ago she saved me from myself. She was 18 when we met. She's been my wife for almost 33 years now and she always makes sure I see the daylight. I can't love her enough for it.

Amen. Hatred is too great a burden to carry. I was physically, emotionally, mentally and financially abused by my ex husband. I carried that for 2 years then I finally broke down. I got on my knees, prayed to Jesus to please lift the spirit of hatred from me, and cried as I prayed for forgiveness and to forgive. The Lord Jesus healed my soul that night. Now I pray for my ex husband to be delivered and accept Jesus as his savior. Was the most profound experience I ever had. 🙏❤🙏

Been there, my friend. I got saved in the midst of my separation/divorce. Lost pretty much everything, but one promise is that God will restore you and then some. When it was over, through my faith God blessed me over and over again. I’m in a battle again over my kids to amend the parenting plan from 50/50 to more on my side. I don’t have the money to pay my attorney again for all of this, but God will provide! Have faith, brother. ❤️❤️❤️

This song reminds me of being alone in my studio apartment over looking lake St Claire in Michigan. I was on chemotherapy for 7 months between October till April. The apartment had outside stairs and the bottom half of the home was empty. When I say alone I mean the stairs outside had 4-5 inches of ice built up no one came to check on me this was when I got sober in 2008. The only thing I had was The Crow & The Butterfly CD I played over and over I couldn't sleep well I was so sick I prayed to the paper Jesus hanging on my wall twice a day again and listening to that Shinedown CD with watching the sunrise over lake St Claire in Harrison Township Mi. It was the most sick I've ever felt most alone but the best spiritual gifts I've ever received!! *THANK YOU SHINEDOWN* 🙏

My dad and I were really close when I was younger. When I was about ten he got really sick and was flown to a hospital and then got separated from my mom. I, nearly seven years later am finally seeing him in person, and he told me this song was what kept him going, that this reminded him of me. Because no matter what I stayed in contact, as much as I could that is. Him and I are now happily living together under his custody finally and this song means so much to me.

This song is so relatable today I can't even put it into words that's why music to me is so important in my life because music has saved my life so many times and will continue to do so as long as I'm able to listen hear it and relate to it music folks, is a universal language we all understand who's with me on that one? We all have issues I can't say faults minor issues due to my life experiences choices and so forth, but I don't dwell on the shame my past or any other issues I talk through my music I have playlists and they are awesome take away my music you might as well give me a gun. But that's not a way out either, we all need someone regardless of who we are what Walk of Life we're on or in what path we are walking or running whichever we all need each other and we all need to stand and stick together. I had no idea my special day was just waiting. It’s been 6 weeks ago that it happened for me & even those 6 weeks have been crazy & difficult at times. That is life. Experience & choices. But right now? I couldn’t be happier! I’m glad I didn’t give up! I would have missed the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me! No lie. You can chose to be patient too, good things come in time. Don’t take for granted what you do have either. It may suck right now, but hang in there! Someone or something good is just waiting for you!

Last year, I couldn't get out of bed for anything. I slept all the time (averaged nearly 17 hours a day), ate nothing because nothing was appetizing, lost a lot of weight (dropped to about 105 lbs. My healthy weight is between 120-125), generally felt there was nothing left to live for except not making my family pay for my funeral. My sister was the one who noticed how bad my depression got. She made me a doctor's appointment, helped me get the meds I needed, and continues to support me on bad days. I try and give back to her as much as I can because she's done so much for me- helped me get a job, learn how to take care of myself and my surroundings, not to mention being the one who literally saved my life. I owe everything to her and now that she's had a son, I've never been happier to have stayed alive

This reminds me of my old dog, Vader. He was my best friend, he would lay under my blanket at night until I fell asleep then he would crawl out. If I woke up he would do the same. I was the first one he came to. My parents always hated him but kept him for me until my Rottweiler passed away. He got even worse so they gave him away. I miss him so much and I would do anything to see him and my old Rottweiler, Jupiter. They will always be my boys. Always love and spend time with the ones around you. Because you never know what life will throw at you.
This song has special meaning to me personally. Coincidentally, I spent one year and three months suffering from a horrific neurological condition called akathisia. Not once…but twice. Second time it happened. Woke up yesterday and could finally listen to music again. Started searching for Shinedown videos and found this one. Late October of 2022 (15 months ago) I fell into darkness and struggled to survive each day. One year and three months ago. Second time. First time lasted nine months back in 2021. Akathisia is caused by damage from pharmaceutical drugs. Especially psychiatric drugs. Horrible affliction that drives many to suicide to escape the horror. 😢
God can and will help you through all your hard times. Just ask Him! Remember, even if you don't believe in Him, He believes in You!! God is there for and with you!! Stay strong and when in doubt, ask God to help you through!

Almost 50 years old... From being unjustly targeted and shamed for doing the right thing to losing my kids' dad to suicide (or murder) to my kids all leaving the nest and then insisting on being the front lines of a global pandemic (kids always said your mom takes you to movies our mom takes us to protests lol). This life has had quite a few unexpected plot twists. This song reminds me of all the people that helped me along the way and of my kids who are so loyal thru it all, who already carry on my legacy. It reminds me "I'm not the only one whose life's been pulled apart." I am just one little person in this great big world and it means alot to me the very few who have stood by me no matter what, making sure even in the darkest times, I always see the daylight. So I need to appreciate the fact that I'm still here and it's time to live again. I don't know how a song could be anymore beautiful or profound.

My husband saved me twice. After he was gone, it was looking into my (4legged) sons, yes sons, eyes that saved me. He was everything precious in my life, he was more then my heart, he was the beat of my heart. I lost him last year just months after losing my dad. Been going thru a 1000 other hells here as well. It seems like everything good in my life was ripped away. Holding on is hard but giving up would be giving in.

I know the pain will always be there and peace maybe hard to find. I know it does little to say I’m sorry for your loss or I know what your going through, every situation is different. But as tough as it is I still pray, and I pray that God will be there when you need him.

It's hard for ppl that needs the most help because they cant afford a divorce and dont have a phone or car or anyone that gives a crap to make sure they are ok or even alive its impossible in their eyes sometimes to keep living and breathing and what do u do to help someone like that when it's family. Wishing you could help them but your going through mental stuff to and barley keeping your head above the waters of life being alone. It's hard when you have no insurance and they make things so expensive this day and time that finding help for mental illness is impossible to fine for ppl that need it most. Seems like feeling hopeless for better day is a real thing when help is a no way no where street or a dead end road.

This song reminds me of being alone in my studio apartment over looking lake St Claire in Michigan.
I was on chemotherapy for 7 months between October till April. The apartment had outside stairs and the bottom half of the home was empty.
When I say alone I mean the stairs outside had 4-5 inches of ice built up no one came to check on me this was when I got sober in 2008. The only thing I had was The Crow & The Butterfly CD I played over and over I couldn't sleep well I was so sick I prayed to the paper Jesus hanging on my wall twice a day again and listening to that Shinedown CD with watching the sunrise over lake St Claire in Harrison Township Mi. It was the most sick I've ever felt most alone but the best spiritual gifts I've ever received!! *THANK YOU SHINEDOWN* 🙏

My dad and I were really close when I was younger. When I was about ten he got really sick and was flown to a hospital and then got separated from my mom. I, nearly seven years later am finally seeing him in person, and he told me this song was what kept him going, that this reminded him of me. Because no matter what I stayed in contact, as much as I could that is. Him and I are now happily living together under his custody finally and this song means so much to me.

This song is so relatable today I can't even put it into words that's why music to me is so important in my life because music has saved my life so many times and will continue to do so as long as I'm able to listen hear it and relate to it music folks, is a universal language we all understand who's with me on that one? We all have issues I can't say faults minor issues due to my life experiences choices and so forth, but I don't dwell on the shame my past or any other issues I talk through my music I have playlists and they are awesome take away my music you might as well give me a gun. But that's not a way out either, we all need someone regardless of who we are what Walk of Life we're on or in what path we are walking or running whichever we all need each other and we all need to stand and stick together. For each other and with each other because regardless we are all one big human family exclamation

I had no idea my special day was just waiting. It’s been 6 weeks ago that it happened for me & even those 6 weeks have been crazy & difficult at times. That is life. Experience & choices. But right now? I couldn’t be happier! I’m glad I didn’t give up! I would have missed the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me! No lie. You can chose to be patient too, good things come in time. Don’t take for granted what you do have either. It may suck right now, but hang in there! Someone or something good is just waiting for you!

Last year, I couldn't get out of bed for anything. I slept all the time (averaged nearly 17 hours a day), ate nothing because nothing was appetizing, lost a lot of weight (dropped to about 105 lbs. My healthy weight is between 120-125), generally felt there was nothing left to live for except not making my family pay for my funeral.
My sister was the one who noticed how bad my depression got. She made me a doctor's appointment, helped me get the meds I needed, and continues to support me on bad days. I try and give back to her as much as I can because she's done so much for me- helped me get a job, learn how to take care of myself and my surroundings, not to mention being the one who literally saved my life. I owe everything to her and now that she's had a son, I've never been happier to have stayed alive

This reminds me of my old dog, Vader. He was my best friend, he would lay under my blanket at night until I fell asleep then he would crawl out. If I woke up he would do the same. I was the first one he came to. My parents always hated him but kept him for me until my Rottweiler passed away. He got even worse so they gave him away. I miss him so much and I would do anything to see him and my old Rottweiler, Jupiter. They will always be my boys.

This song has special meaning to me personally. Coincidentally, I spent one year and three months suffering from a horrific neurological condition called akathisia. Not once…but twice. Second time it happened. Woke up yesterday and could finally listen to music again. Started searching for Shinedown videos and found this one. Late October of 2022 (15 months ago) I fell into darkness and struggled to survive each day. One year and three months ago. Second time. First time lasted nine months back in 2021. Akathisia is caused by damage from pharmaceutical drugs. Especially psychiatric drugs. Horrible affliction that drives many to suicide to escape the horror. 😢

Almost 50 years old... From being unjustly targeted and shamed for doing the right thing to losing my kids' dad to suicide (or murder) to my kids all leaving the nest and then insisting on being the front lines of a global pandemic (kids always said your mom takes you to movies our mom takes us to protests lol). This life has had quite a few unexpected plot twists.
This song reminds me of all the people that helped me along the way and of my kids who are so loyal thru it all, who already carry on my legacy. It reminds me "I'm not the only one whose life's been pulled apart." I am just one little person in this great big world and it means alot to me the very few who have stood by me no matter what, making sure even in the darkest times, I always see the daylight. So I need to appreciate the fact that I'm still here and it's time to live again.

My husband saved me twice. After he was gone, it was looking into my (4legged) sons, yes sons, eyes that saved me. He was everything precious in my life, he was more then my heart, he was the beat of my heart. I lost him last year just months after losing my dad. Been going thru a 1000 other hells here as well. It seems like everything good in my life was ripped away. Holding on is hard but giving up would be giving in.

It was the video of my wife, the sound of my wife’s laughter that saved my life. Lost her 2 years ago on Christmas Day at 39. Still breaks me everyday. I know the pain will always be there and peace maybe hard to find. I know it does little to say I’m sorry for your loss or I know what your going through, every situation is different. But as tough as it is I still pray, and I pray that God will be there when you need him.

It's hard for ppl that needs the most help because they cant afford a divorce and dont have a phone or car or anyone that gives a crap to make sure they are ok or even alive its impossible in their eyes sometimes to keep living and breathing and what do u do to help someone like that when it's family. Wishing you could help them but your going through mental stuff to and barley keeping your head above the waters of life being alone. It's hard when you have no insurance and they make things so expensive this day and time that finding help for mental illness is impossible to fine for ppl that need it most. Seems like feeling hopeless for better day is a real thing when help is a no way no where street or a dead end road.
