I went through a very rough depression brought on by PTSD from my military service. You guys have no idea how much your songs mean to me. There's no way to explain it. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Please don't ever quit.
same here man shinedown has helped me so much while i was in and helping me transition out with all the anxiety and depression. dont hesitate to reach out man
A good friend and police officer went through one of the roughest patches of his life. First losing his wife to cancer, then his sister to suicide and another unfortunate event. I found this song yesterday because ever since then, we do a "buddy check in" on each other twice per day. He was there when I had a rough patch and ready to give up as well. Depression, Anxiety, PTSD and all mental health are not jokes. Let's make sure everyone sees the daylight tomorrow and save some lives. You are all stronger than you think. No matter what you face, it's not over for you. Adam
Such a beautiful song . My wife that had cancer dedicated it to me because I saved her life so many times and I always showed her the daylight we fought cancer for 10 years beating it three times it came back and forth time and took her from me she showed me the daylight as well now she's no longer with me and all I see is darkness. FUCK!!! I loved this video "Daylight" it's very moving, I can't stop watching and repeating the video, I SEE MY HEART AND MY MIND INSIDE THIS MOVIE, AND WHAT I FEEL WAS RELEASING A WEIGHT, FEELING LIGHT AND AT PEACE. Congratulations to you, you did a great job, I loved it if I could give you a million likes!! you deserve it ❤️🔥🌹excellent team
This song always brings tears to my eyes. You released this song right after my little sister died. If it wasn’t for her 22 years ago, I wouldn’t be here.
My bff made sure I always saw the daylight, she was one of the real ones, she saved my life twice. She always made sure I saw the daylight, cancer took her away. I miss her everyday. Now she's with God bringing the daylight until we meet again.
I’m at work crying in my office. Shinedown has saved my life for 11 years now. The love I have for this band, all of the members and incredible fans is unreal. Much love
Yup! I snook out back at work to see the premiere!! When I came back in they could tell I'd been crying so nobody said anything. Lol Beautiful video and mix of the song! Left me speechless! 💜 I love these guys and their music so so much!!
They will never know how much their music has helped me as well. I've been sober for almost 6 years and there's not a day that goes by that I don't crank them and never think about a bottle anymore. They truly are the best!
Just keep your head up, keep putting one foot in front of the other! This life might be hard, but it's worth being here. And you should never quit fighting because this world is better with you here.
This song brings me to to tears like may other shinedown songs because for me it's about my wife. She has a chronic illness and is bed ridden, we have 3 young daughters and everything is on my shoulders to take care of us and we have lost most of our friends and family because of it so the line "it's amazing what the hard times can reveal like who shows up, who walks away and who's for real" is true. I try and always make sure she sees the daylight for us both. Thank you guys for that.
Wrapping you and your beautiful family within love and light. My heart goes out to you all. You're never alone. Never. You can reach out to me. Sometimes people don't know how or what they can do. Then the fear of making things worse manifests. But continue sharing all of the love you exude. My friend, use some of it on you.
This song called, DAYLIGHT, from SHINDOWN, has me ponder my life of 71 years and makes me realize that without the love of my God and Lord Savior that I would not have survived this long ... that he will ALWAYS be there for me regardless of where I may have fallen ... I have trouble breathing when I hear these lyrics ...
You have no idea how this song effects my heart. Being a 70 yr old who's been in many scenarios that fit this song raising children and grandchildren and referring this song to them. You're definitely on the top of my list. Thank you, Shinedown.
I stumbled onto this song while sitting on the couch. I lost my son to cancer at the age of 13, 2 years later I was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer. I figured and actually hoped that would be the end for me and I would go to be with my son. My wife kept me alive "Not once but twice". I wanted to die after losing my son and then almost died from Cancer myself losing 40lbs in 1 month. This song literally blew my mind as it perfectly embodied the actual support my wife showed me, which proved to me I still had purpose here on earth. My purpose was to protect her at all costs. I lost all emotional control and my wife, who was sitting next to me (I had Headphones on) asked "are you ok" I handed her the headphones and said "It's you" she cried I cried and it was a beautiful moment that sparked a wonderful conversation about my love for her. Thank you Shinedown.
This song goes to my daughter. She's 21 now. She was 15 when I was first diagnosed with cancer, there would be three more diagnosis to beat. She took me to see Shinedown when I just finished my last chemo. She gave me a reason to fight!
You're here.... that counts for something 🙏👍....my son was diagnosed in 05' and died in 09'.... that was the greatest 4 years of my fukking life because i realized how important life truly is. God bless you and I pray that you have a long wonderful life.
So needed to listen to this tonight. Going thru some things right now (itll get better and ill be ok) and this song is such a comfort to me. I am so grateful to Shinedown for putting out music that is a comfort to me on the days when things are difficult
"Have faith that you're not alone. Have faith that you're not on your own." These are words I repeat daily since I first heard this song. We may help Shinedown see the daylight, but they also help their fans see the daylight! Cannot wait to see them live again!
Sorry for infringing into your privacy without your permission Strangers can become best friend just as easy as best friend can become strangers if you don't mind i would love to talk with you❤.
@@mikesgirl1988 The meaning of faith is often twisted into something it wasn't meant to be. There is but ONE who when provided that faith can provide an answer at all times without fail. It is never easy, I raised two children entirely on my own after their mother took off on us. I wanted to die... I had to claw my way out, and slowly release the resentment and hatred until I was free. Remember that happiness is an unattainable abstract without first finding contentment and accepting who you are inside. Life is 10% what happens and 90% how we react to it. My acceptance of these facts helped me break on through.
Amen to that! I thank God for Shinedown! They helped me through a divorce and everything since. They are truly encouraging and I can’t even imagine how many lives they have saved with their music. ❤️
I had to medically retire from law enforcement due to PTSD. At exactly one year and three months of feeling lost, I discovered this song. It has been my anthem as I’ve battled forward. A Shinedown tattoo is in my future as a tribute to you guys and your emphasis on mental health. Thank you isn’t enough.
My hubby and I have been married for 26 years. About 7 years ago he developed a seizure disorder. He has grand mals in his sleep a lot. I have saved his life multiple times while he was sleeping. This song hits home hard! He sent this song to me about a year ago and we listen to it daily. We have a hard time sharing our feelings so we send songs to each other throughout the day. That’s our way of letting each other know how Much we love each other. This. He sings this to me all the time. Thank you for making songs that bond my hubby and I together! Also Smith and Myers is our go to! We love all your songs! Whether it’s Shinedown or Smith and Myers. We love all your songs! ❤️❤️❤️
If Covid 19 2020 has taught me anything it is this: to live life to the fullest, to not take it for granted and to celebrate each and everyday as if it were your last. It also taught me to cherish everyone in my life fully and wholeheartedly. To let them know how much they mean to me. Tell them everyday I love them. Let them know that they have saved my life and have been my daylight on the days that were too dark to see the sun. I love this song so much! It means so much to me! Thank you Shinedown! This song has helped me to see the daylight!
Just had a stroke 10 days ago and this is my salvation. Every morning I wake up paralyzed I listen to this , pray and go out in work at age 55 I’m too young to die . ❤❤❤❤
Shinedown has saved me. Ive had an extremely rough past almost 10 years and Shinedown has helped me always see the daylight through all of my darkest moments. I finally got to see them live at WIIL Rock Fest this year, I was right in the front row with my wheelchair so I got to see and hear everything perfectly. I was bawling while singing as loud as I could. I'll follow them down to the end. I know anytime they are playing near me I WILL be there, I could watch them play over and over again they're that amazing. I can honestly say Shinedown saved my life and continues to do so everyday. After watching the video: I saw them perform with Jelly Roll who is another artist who's music has helped saved my life. I am SO glad that they included him in the video! Shinedown (and Jelly Roll) will save my life for as long as I live.
@@christinamikeska8389 It really was! I'm somewhat sad that WIIL Rock didn't make the video but it's okay. All the lights in the rain that night made it almost magical ❤️
Your story is one amazing one! I'm glad you got to see them and hear this. They always blow me away live and I love how Brent speaks to the crowd with his words. Did Jelly Roll come out and do Simple Man? So good! Life just isn't life without them! Keep on it!!🥰
@@andreabuzicky1881 thank you! Their music helped me through a near fatal car accident, losing my leg, losing 3 of my grandparents, the ending of a 5 year relationship, and much more in the last few years. Next time they come by me again I will definitely be getting the vip package so I can finally meet them, the way Brent spoke to the crowd pretty much had me in tears the whole time I was so overwhelmed with emotions ❤️ also yes jelly roll came out and did simple man and it was amazing 😁 Life definitely would not be the same without either of them that's a fact!
😂 To me it's completely the opposite. The Album version gives me so much more, because there are no guitar elements which makes it even more special. Guess they added this here for the live factor, but I really think this makes the Song worse.🙊
I was lucky enough to see them perform Daylight live before the album dropped and fell in love with it immediately. I could see Shinedown every month, at least, and still not get enough of their music and awesome show. I can't wait for the new concert video!!
Me too!! Hershey, PA. I loved it the first time hearing it. Some songs (in general) have to grow on you. Daylight grabs you and pulls you in just listening to the first chorus! It just has a sound that makes you want to sing, makes you happy. 😊🥰
Really lucky you, I was looking forward to seeing Shinedown in November in Italy but they have canceled all the European tour, except for UK (hard to understand). This is so sad.
I cry every time I hear this song. I went through a bad depression and wasn’t sure if I’d make it out alive and my wive and kids fought for me harder then I’ve ever fought for anything in my life. I’m off meds and seeing life for the beauty it is. I hope with all my heart others out there have the same outcome. I dont know you but I’m wishing with everything in my soul you put some love and peace back in your heart. Stay strong all.
I've seen Shinedown live now 6 times since 2006, and they never fail to impress, they put on a great show and always sound just like their albums live! Thank you Shinedown for always being real, so many of your songs have really got me through a lot over these years, thank you for helping me see the "Daylight"
I’ve lost my dad to mental illness and several other friends and I wish I could have helped them see the daylight. This song came on the radio today as I was driving to a good friends celebration of life and it broke me. It’s so beautiful. I don’t know your music but hearing this made me an instant fan. Thank you ❤️
@CassieNeil - I Lost my Dad to Mental Illness, too. He Passed in Nov. 2019. I feel like he led me to this Song, bc there's been MANY Dark Days since he Chose to Leave this Life & I needed to Hear this Song. Sending you LOTS of Love!! I Get It!! 💜🦋💙
@@reubenstevens5884 saw them in 2021 it was freaking incredible..love Brent and the guys they are such a gift.listen to Get up n Monster..yes Brents voice is a gift most definitely
I’m August of 2022 my 4 year marriage ended. I went into a downward spiral. I was depressed and suicidal. I met a friend named Ali during this time. She reintroduced me to Shinedown. I decided to take her to one of their concerts. She helped me find my will to live again. This song became our anthem. I think of her every time I hear it. When they played this song at the concert I stood holding her in my arms crying. I thanked her for showing up and for being real. And I thank Shinedown for helping me find the words to tell my best friend how much she means to me
I lost my daughter in 2016. Every day is a struggle. If I wake...seeing the daylight is a blessing. We have had many leave us and lacked support. This song epitomizes what my wife and I have gone through. Losing so called friends and best friends. But we are still here. And this message greatly helps!
I'm sorry for your loss. As a father of a 5 year old boy, I hope I never have to understand that pain. You'll always have somebody there for you. Friends, and even family sometimes, come and go. But - there will ALWAYS be somebody there to help, even if it's just a stranger on the internet. Never forget that brother.
Greg my husband & I lost our two young adult son's tragically & unexpectedly. Jake 2019 & DJ just 8 months later in 2020. We also lost almost all of our "so-called" friends & what we thought were close family members too. I have seen some of my darkest days since Sept 7th 2019 & still struggle every day to see the daylight. Shinedown is amazing. Touching our soul & giving comfort & they don't even know us. It doesn't take much, yanno?💔 I hope you & your wife are hanging in there!!💯💕
I cant even put into words how much I love this band. I've been listening to them my entire life and their music has helped me through so much in my life. I almost took my life 2 years ago and struggled with self harm, months later I saw them live for the first time as my first ever concert and I cried when they played this song.
I'm not crying, you're crying! Shinedown has been one of my favorites since they burst onto the scene 20 years ago. Have seen them twice, and they never fail to give you an epic performance. This band has so many ways to uplift your spirits, and punch the hard times in the face. They use their platform for so much good, and the fans, that's family right there. You go to a Shinedown show, and leave with many new friends. Cause at a Shinedown show we dance!! Much love from the Mitten to everyone!
Everytime the go to Grand Rapids, I have to see them. 20 years of amazing performances and lyrics that lift you up. Proud to be part of the #ShinedownFamily!!
I don't think there's another band like Shinedown! They bring such emotion with their songs. I listen to their music, I hear the lyrics & I can relate! From what I can see from comments, others relate also. They always give such inspirational messages & altho I love the songs I feel like crying a lot of the times. It must be that emotion I mentioned. No other band makes me feel their music like this. Each one of these guys must be special to be able to create & bring us this kind of music. I'm 67 & Shinedown is now my favorite band. Thank you guys!💖💖💖
Some things have happened to me that made me fall, and I didn't want to get up. Yet music and a few people being in my life that brought me daylight made my heart beat again. I sent them this song and thanked them for it as soon as I heard it. Thank you, shinedown, for all your hard work and beautiful stories about life in awesome music 🎶 keep going. ❤
I have 11 years clean and a life worth living thanks to Shinedown and the real they express in every song even in my recovery when I was ready to give up they saved my life and gave my kids their mom back I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without their message
18 years ago today I was 38 years old and had a massive stroke right in front of one of my three she saved my life it was a long long road and she was just a teenager then I will be forever grateful for her I love you I love this song I dedicated this song to my daughter Crystal I love you so much because of you you three kids gave me seven grandkids and I fought through the stroke and I fully recovered thank you ceeko and thank you so much Shinedown ❤❤❤
What a beautiful story to share. Its a journey I am on myself right now. I live in hope of a full recovery also. I'm glad your journey is a wonderful one.💚🙏
I DIDN'T WANT TO MENTION THIS IN MY LAST COMMENT. BUT, I HAVE CHANGED MY MIND. MY LAST SURGERY WAS JUNE 26, 2018, AT THE MAYO CLINIC IN ROCHESTER, MN. I'M NOT LOOKING FOR THE ATTENTION. JUST TO SAY THERE IS LIFE WITH THE ON GOING BATTLE AND WE ALL CAN MAKE IT. WE JUST HAVE TO BELIEVE!
This was our wedding song this year. We have pulled each other out of some dark, difficult places and we are stronger than ever. This song get me every time - it always reminds me to not give up. Shinedown have such a way of touching the soul.
I lost my mother almost 17 years ago - she was 54 and I was 38. I have never been the same person I was, ever since. I have this everlasting melancholy surrounding me.
This song moves to one of your best. I feel the awards coming! Can't wait to see you guys walking on stage to get the long overdue recognition of being one of the best bands ever. Thank you all for sharing your gifts and for making sure I always see the daylight.
I suffer from a chronic sleep disorder. Most days are hard due to extreme exhaustion. Suicide ideation is a constant demon I fight and this song helps me remember that there are other people out there like me and if they can keep fighting then so can I. Thank you Shinedown for Daylight and everything else you have done ❤️
Man...again... Knowing I was at this Pittsburgh PA show, and knowing how special this was to y'all too. It gives me chills. Xoxo shinedown. Y'all fucking bring it for the people! xx..
I don’t think I can narrate what this song will mean to you or even to myself. These guys are true artists. I’m never short of amazed by them. I feel that they read every one of our journals and write scripture over them. Take this however you want to take it, just make sure you take it.
You ll never see this n that's cool ,your music has carried through some of the darkest days of my life ,from spousal abuse ,starting over ,drug addiction, all of it,thanks to you guys ,and to this day you are n always be appreciated ❤
I lost my dad in 2021 due to COVID. This song makes me think of him. He helped keep me even keeled and now that he is gone it is tough. I do miss him, but greatly appreciate this group. Thanks for helping this no body.
I just want to say thank you for saving my life . I hope you know the power of your music is therapy for me I've suffered severe injuries serving and protecting the city of Chicago as an officer and serving my country in my darkest days, months, years of feeling like an unwanted man person being in server depression and suffering from P.T.S. your music TRULY HELPS ME TO KEEP MOVING FORWARD IN A POSITIVE WAY SO THANK YOU AND DONT STOP MAKING STRONG MUSIC TO LIFT PEOPLE UP GOING THROUGH BAD TIMES 🙏
When I found out I had terminal cancer. This is the first song I played sitting a car . Thinking wow it is gonna end . But it's fun living it . Have a life you enjoyed.
I've been battling cancer for 3 years now. Shinedown has been with me through it all. I'm in absolute tears listening to Daylight! It says everything! I'm not alone! I'm not on my own! Thank you guys for reminding me! God bless!!!
I WAS THERE!!!! My very 1st Shinedown concert in The Woodlands. Packed with all the feels my heart could have. This song though 💕 is EVERYTHING!!!! ....Like most of their songs. Shinedown music brings healing to my soul ❤️
I was gonna say, didn't they show some clips from their Woodlands concert? I thought I recognized the area. My dad was there, and I was doing a band practice, but man, I wish I could have been there. He got me hooked on their Planet Zero album, and I can't stop listening!

My daughter who had just received a Kidney transplant at 12 years old made it into this video waving @ 2:48 seconds. It was her very 1st concert ever and some of the crew made her day!!! With a drumstick and a guitar pick! @DTE
This song is helping me through my divorce this year, and has made me ever so thankful for my support network that has kept me from spiraling into a deep depression. Love this band so much; I've seen them twice live and would jump at the chance to go again! Thank you for always being there for us, Shinedown (for me, since 2008).
Don't think y'all realize, truly realize just how many you have made see daylight...Y'all have done it for me waaay more than twice. Thank you Shinedown for helping me see daylight countless times.
My dad was critically injured in a house fire in Feb. 2011. My kids are here because of him. He used to be my daylight. We lost him on my autistic son's birthday, 6 months and one day after losing my son's father to an addiction no one knew he had. It's been a long and very dark road and I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my kids. Everyday's a battle against myself, but my kids are my daylight. The fight continues. Keep fighting.🖤🖤🖤
For me this song is very important too. It helps me through the fight against an adrenal gland tumor and helps to believe in a full healing. Thanks a million times to Shinedown. I send my best wishes to everyone in the world who have health issues.
I lost my Mom (63) to Leukemia on August 13th of 2022. All kinds of thoughts have flooded my brain since then. However, this song, always plays when I start thinking darker thoughts. Thanks Shinedown for always being "there" for me.
If you got even one person that will stick by your side in your darkest of moments in life, you are very blessed. Most people dont want to weather the storm you are facing. They just want you to be good enough to be able to do what they want you to do. To the ones that love those who are in dark places and cant really offer much, Yall the real MVPs.
I can't stop watching this inspirational song and video. I was there opening night in KC. Your songs Get Up and Daylight and the messages in your songs get me through life and mental health issues. I don't know where I'd be without you guys, the "daylights" who have stood by me and this song. Thank you Shinedown. I love you Shinedown Nation too!❤

Best live song I've seen them perform!! It was my 5th Shinedown concert and just a few months since I lost my Mom. God, I miss her! She helped me see the daylight every day!! Thank you Shinedown!! 💜💜💜
I too lost my Mom recently. And my only brother. Both in 2020. Shinedown's music has lifted me and brought many bouts of tears to soothe the ragged edges of my soul. They have the most real and truthful lyrics, and you can FEEL the love and support amongst the guys. I hope you heal. Cry all you can - it washes your soul. Hang in there.

I went through a very rough time with depression. I left my wife, ignored my family, got fired from a couple of jobs. I was in the darkest of darkness. I wanted to end my life and make it all go away. My wife never gave up on me. She never walked away, she's for real. She literally saved my life. If I could write a song about my experience and a tribute to her it would be word for word Daylight. I can't sing at all, but one day when I can get through the song without crying I'm going to sing it to her. Thank you so much for such an incredible song and message hope. You have no idea how much it means to me. THANKS!
I made it into a Shinedown video !!! My light was out there on the hill at the Woodlands Pavilion! Singing along with every song ! How coooooool !!! Love u guys ❤
I cried the first time hearing it , I tear up every time including seeing it live a few weeks ago in Irving, Tx , I died and was brought back in January , my wife saved my life and made sure I was able to still see the daylight .
"Like who shows up, who walks away, and who's for real." I felt that deeeeeepppp
Hello, how are you doing it's nice meeting you here
So true. It cuts deep
A Pandemic will make you realize who is REAL in your life 💝 who checks up on you and who cares for You 💞 🕊️

As did I!!
My bff made sure I always saw the daylight, she was one of the real ones, she saved my life twice. She always made sure I saw the daylight, cancer took her away.
I miss her everyday. Now she's with God bringing the daylight until we meet again.
I lost mine, too. Every day feels like yesterday. Hugs to you! I'm sure she watches over you all the time!

I’m at work crying in my office. Shinedown has saved my life for 11 years now. The love I have for this band, all of the members and incredible fans is unreal.
Much love
Me too 🚰
SAME!! The first time I heard it, ugly cry. The 1000th time I’ve heard it.....ugly cry.
I'm not at work, but the second part of your sentence is streaming down my face now.
These songs are why i see the day
My wife saved my life, not once but twice. She’s my daylight
Be two brother I'm diabetic and that's more than twice for me she's my Rock for life !!!
This song saved me tonight, tomorrow is a new day
Just keep your head up, keep putting one foot in front of the other!
Endure my friend; those girls are depending on you. I pray for your strength.
Goosebumps, can relate.
Wrapping you and your beautiful family within love and light. My heart goes out to you all. You're never alone. Never. You can reach out to me. Sometimes people don't know how or what they can do. Then the fear of making things worse manifests. But continue sharing all of the love you exude. My friend, use some of it on you.
i will pray for you and your family.....youre a good husband and father i hope for better days for you and yours
My husband is doing the same thing for me. I feel like I’m pulling him down with me sinking in my chronic illnesses
Amen. He's my ROCK! I'd be lost without him. 🙏
🙏🏻
Have faith that you're not on your own."
These are words I repeat daily since I first heard this song. We may help Shinedown see the daylight, but they also help their fans see the daylight! Cannot wait to see them live again!
But I am.
Since 2019 I've tried atleast 5 times to end it all. That's all I want.
❤you got this! 🙏 for you
This maybe the greatest most powerful song ever
My hubby and I have been married for 26 years. About 7 years ago he developed a seizure disorder. He has grand mals in his sleep a lot. I have saved his life multiple times while he was sleeping. This song hits home hard! He sent this song to me about a year ago and we listen to it daily. We have a hard time sharing our feelings so we send songs to each other throughout the day. That’s our way of letting each other know how
Much we love each other.
IT WAS SUCH AN AMAZING SHOW!!!
Wow. This version is even more powerful than the one on the album. Phenomenal.
😂 To me it's completely the opposite. The Album version gives me so much more, because there are no guitar elements which makes it even more special. Guess they added this here for the live factor, but I really think this makes the Song worse.🙊
The instrumental side doesn’t quite sound like it matches up with the lyrics, but damn I wish this version was on the album
@@AnimatedIdiotGuide agreed

Thank you Shinedown for always being real, so many of your songs have really got me through a lot over these years, thank you for helping me see the "Daylight"

I cried the first time hearing it , I tear up every time including seeing it live a few weeks ago in Irving, Tx , I died and was brought back in January , my wife saved my life and made sure I was able to still see the daylight .
