I’ve wanted to get one for nearly 4 years! I went to my uncles house yesterday, and saw he has one. We started talking about it and due to finances. I explained I haven’t gotten one, but I will as soon as possible. Shockingly or surprisingly he actually ordered one while we were sitting there and didn’t tell me. we got it today! I was confused on a couple things with getting it set up and didn’t wanna break anything so I found your video and just wanted to say thank you! It helped a lot. Now we’re gonna let it freeze overnight and probably do the transition on Monday when children are at school. Thanks for the review! I found it very helpful. Subscribed 😅
Thank you for the helpful review! I've unboxed mine, similar to what you did except I couldn't figure out the cord and saw that some people in the reviews had damaged the door trying to open it. So I looked and found your video. Now I will do it without damage. Also, the energy tage on mine shows $31/year not 26 like yours. Energy inflation, since your video was 6 months ago. Also, I paid $40 more than you on a Labor Day sale. List price at this time is $219 with $50 off for the sale. I'm very happy to get this and hope it holds up. It's my third chest freezer. They hold up during power outages better. I also fill mine to the brim, using frozen water bottles (up to gallon bottles) to make up the difference if the food is only partially full. That will also help a lot in an outage. Mine has done fine with many outages. One way to organize it is to use insulated bags with a zipper by category. So if I want ground meat, I can just pull that bag. If I want pork, I pull that one. There are some good youtube videos showing this method. I recommend colored plastic tags for the freezer to label each one. Then no lost meats in the bottom. Also, you can put a water bottle in each bag to fill space. I plan to keep meat I want to use soon in my fridge freezer, both in case of an outage and chest freezers keep the meat better. Thanks again.
Thanks, this video is helpful. I didn't know how to open that cord thing. Weird how there is nothing about it in the instructions. I looked it up and the instructions did not mention it at all. :-o
I just got mine for Black Friday-Cyber Monday deal. I paid $179. It was $40 off. I know two baskets would fit but do you think three would fit on top? Regarding the plug down below, is there a drip drain pan? Any special tools in having to remove it? I'm not able to pick mine up til Tuesday because I don't have a big enough car to haul it so that's why I'm asking you all these questions instead of reading the manual myself.
How loud is the hum? I just got one of these but was told its defective. Doesnt cool down enough. Im testing it first before moving forward with my troubleshooting. My light is on but I hear no noise telling me the compressor is on. Is it supposed to be pretty audible?
i have had mine since 2020. I was curious if that light on front changes color when it reaches a certain temperature? We just defrosted it for the first time. We absolutely love it! No issues at all. What is it you used for the plug to ground it? We just have it in our basement but wonder if i need to use a special plug as well.
I've noticed that mine makes a clicking ticking noise every 10 to 15 minutes, which I'm assuming is the compressor turning on and off.. Is it normal for it to cycle that often, or is it something I should get looked at?
It doesn’t really make it clicking noise, but it does turn on and off. More so in the summertime when it got really hot in the garage now that it’s winter I don’t really hear it on very much.
Mine doesn't have a light...or a scraper..or a plug at bottom of freezer but my son bought mine for $100.00 Dec 2020. Pandemic started March 2020. So, I got it for Christmas just in time! Someone, kid moved dial.ice cream was kind of soft...(?) What # do I love dial to,? Help..Ty ❤
You were tipping that unit pretty steeply. The refrigerant (cyclopentane, not Freon) needs to settle several hours after movement or tipping, or you can get air in the refrigerant lines making for inefficient cooling. And yes, that's a pretty big dent. I definitely would have returned it.

Haha glad I could help! I have a handful of other product reviews I have gotten recently.
I just got one. Gonna save me a lot of money when stuff goes on sale.
I agree!

Excellent!
Many thanks!
Quick question how long is the cord in inches? Need to see if it’ll reach where I need it to go
56"

I don’t think three baskets would fit.
Hi, does it make any sound? Humming sound?
Very very faint hum, a-lot less than my fridge/mini fridge. I keep mine in the garage. It’s 90s outside and does really well in there.
Thanks for the reply
I see a lot of failures on Best Buy reviews, most at around 5/6 months old. What would be the issue ?
Knock on wood I haven’t had any issues!

Mine has a light hum, it can get loud in the summer months as the freezer is located in my garage!

Mine has been a consistent blue light. I have yet to see any change in color.
No special plug. Just the standard 3-prong. The light is only a power indicator.

@TimbosFoodBox Is it normal for it to turn on and off every 10 to 15 minutes? I'm hearing mixed reviews.
Everything still running good with the freezer?
Thinking about pulling the plug on one of these bad boyz.
The 7 Cu Ft. on sale for $175 right now.
🤙
Yep, its full and haven’t had any issues knock on wood!

You seem like such a sweet guy. You were cracking me up with your little side random commentary comments.
😊 thank you

I don’t like dented appliances. I would’ve taken it back and exchanged it for another one.
I had meat coming, and I didn’t have time.
it's dented
I just went down and checked it out. Which side you seeing dented?
@@TimbosFoodBoxIt's dented below the temperature adjustment. I have the same freezer and it's fine.
