petal chain stitch - embroidery tutorial 103

The petal chain stitch is a mix of stem stitch and chain stitch. It looks like a string of fairy lights or a garland! If you use variegated threads, you can even get a colorful string of lights without changing the threads for each color at all. I could also see this stitch for borders or stitched as a spiral.
