I completely agree with you, and the most unfortunate thing about this is that she has gone after other idols, but every time she’s stuck in her lies she comes out with a new accusation that has absolutely nothing to do with her audit. And those who don’t like Hybe’s success are taking the company for nothing.
Well, hindsight is 20/20. BSH probably had not dealt with anyone like MHJ before, a conniving narcissist, so he probably didn't know. Hopefully, BSH has learned that he shouldn't be so generous going forward. Just to be clear, I was not excited when I heard she was joining Hybe, but I am only a fan of BTS.

NJ members are young and maybe don't really understand what's going on. But of course they will support their 'mother' . I am not a fan NJ, I think they lack voices. Their dancing is a bit stiff and not graceful. If I am a young fan, all I like about them is their skimpy dressing and their hips movement. Sorry but this is my honest opinion.
What mhj and tokkis are finding out is that a lot of their casual listeners were ARMY. She wanted to make it all about HER accomplishments, but nwj really benefited a lot from being "BTS' little sisters". The minute it was found out that she was trying to harm BTS and that nwj are apparently still supporting her, ARMYs started dropping them. It's a shame because I did actually like their music. I would consider listening again if they stopped supporting mhj and apologized. But.... It's really beginning to look like another 50/50 scenario.

Realistically? About 40% of their fans are ARMY who most of them or about 80% of that 40% could not buy MNJ lies and could forgive her for dragging BTS in her issue with Bighit.
Exactly, I remember when the PC was made many netizens kept bashing ARMY, calling them company stans and what not, simply because ARMY couldn't stand her name calling groups (not to mention ARMYs defended njs by calling out mhj for unnecessarily bringing them in) and dragging BTS in.

KPop is already global because of BTS. The fandom is no longer just school aged children, but many are professionals. That's why MHJ cannot fool us international fans with her mud slinging. That 10,000 Koreans NJ fans or the BTS fans who sent funeral wreaths do not represent us. We outnumber Korean fans!
I agree! She underestimated global fans. She was banking on grooming youth or people to blindly follow her preposterous explanations as truth. Tactical mistake. Until a few years, like five to maybe ten, it was considered a basic principle of publicity that "all publicity was good publicity" the important was to have people talking about you.
Fastforward present, internet and cancel culture sudenddly showed that people is not ready to tolerate all kinds of behaivours. Maybe you know the phrase: "go woke, go broke", well that and cases like Amber Hearth and Jhonny Deep started to show a change in pattern. Now it is not only about have people talking about you but it is important that people talk good about you, for the first time in many decades it is important that people has a good reputation and the always confiable law of: "all publicity is good publicity" was debunked.
You have rage bait in many entretainmemt productions that has people talking but not consuming your product. This happened to me with NJ, all the rage baiting produced in me a huge reject efect towars them as a whole, their team, the members that are smart a thinking people and their label.
A lot of the reason people has been talking about them is all this rage baiting. They tought they were walking trought mud but the members and BTS good image was protecting them of becoming dirty. Well, it did not work like that.
Little by little, scandal after scandal, they chipped and degraded the image of both and dumb things like the "kalgutsu" incident and now the "misstreatment" allegations started to paint a unfavorable image of the members. Add all the attacks to BTS and female groups of Hybe that are leaving them vulneranle too.
She had drag every single female group under Hybe (except fromis 9 but including Gfriend) under the mud to try to elevate her group but by assosiation all that she has been talking about them is being apply to her group because they are a girl group under Hybe and if all copy then they copy too (Jeans, Shakattack), if they (Gfriend) were not good enough then her girls (trained under SoMu) are neither good enough even something she did not started is already passing its bill to NJ even if they were free till now: lipsynch and bad vocals.
She seems to have missed the actuallization of the publicity principle that as it is today must be "NOT all publicity is good publicity".
exactly! we are full grown professionals, and lots of us work in corporate in high positions and we know that Hybe did everything necessary to obtain information legally. We know gaslighting and MHJ is making a whole circus and unfortunately has dragged other groups, her own artists and parents. This is a cautionary tale of greed, and thinking you are better than others. Bangtan was always humble throughout their journey. I respect the members and their parents so much

NJ getting a large upfront payment and having no debts was a big mistake. Either the members and/or their parents don't understand that this is unusual in K-pop and may have led them to think they are better than they actually are. And I don't think their lead single Bubblegum was very strong.
They are also competing with Japanese girl group XG who is blowing up internationally with their new track Woke Up, which was released at nearly the same time and was trending #1 on YT. So no, I don't think they are being sabotaged, they just have some very stiff competition.

I was a casual listener and even bought some albums on weverse. i dont support them anymore. seeing them siding with MHJ and attacking Bang PD is hard to watch. next time they meet in the building, it's going to be an extremely horrible situation. Victims, specially the ones that start to being since childhood, develop a twisted vision of the things that surround them and their way to deal with trauma is to making it "normal". How they had behaive: keept silent, do nothing remain neutral. I just watched a video from a Korean TH-cam channel, someone called Journalist Kim, and he said that after the board meeting on the 31st, the police will be ready to start - I think - interrogating MHJ and her cronies for breach of trust. I was watching using auto translate, so I can't give an accurate account of the contents of his video.
BUT. I am looking forward to seeing how that unfolds. He said that the police have decided there is enough evidence of her committing breach of trust, and that what she should be worried about is going to jail, not so much getting fired.

Sabotage: Why would you want to give MHJ ammunition? Can we say that she is the one who is doing so by not deciding where to send their music. I don't know whether she is termed as producer on their albums; Please know that the producer of an album is also responsible of ensuring that the album is promoted properly.
In my opinion, in April she asked V to leave BTS and Bighit and go solo under Ador, and V reported it. To convince him, she must have told him that she had investors who would pay his penalty. MHJ is mostly childish, so she will have believed that V doesn't get along with the other BTS and BSH.

@AsianEntertainmentAndCulture regarding the “flop”, could the expectation have been high because Army showed initial interest that waned? Army numbers are impactful. I, for one, spent a weekend familiarizing myself with them after Tae blew up the Hype Boy challenge. And, even added that song to some playlists. I think Jimin and JK also joined them in challenges. Seeing the guys momentarily lean in to the “big brother” role piqued interest and probably streams. But, for me, it didn’t sustain and certainly can’t withstand the bad taste this controversy has left.

Putting down HYBE is not the same as putting down BTS. BTS built HYBE but they don't control it, Bang doesn't even control it. You can still be against HBYE practices as they don't have anything to do with BTS.
Members have shares in HYBE but not substantial enough that they can determine the direction of the company, other than getting a vote at share holder meetings, and other shareholders may not even be music industry experts.
Being a fan doesn't mean you have to blindly follow your favorite artists, it also doesn't mean you have to be loyal to their record labels.

Those girls were trained by HYBE, Hybe spent their money on each girl and resources. They also didn't have the girls pay them back like most others. They have been good to those girls and very supportive.

In fact that is one of the only reason people still buy CDs in the first place: the difference in albums.
aespa's new album is kinda expenisve since it includes a CD player from my understanding.
This is one of the reasons why it still works when many people don't have a CD player anymore.
If you think artists make actuall money from you buying the digital songs you are wrong.
Even physical albums do not necessary make the artists money. In K-pop they may because the prices are higher than the average US album for example.

Concerts are also not good for the environment. They are also a lot more expensive than they used to be. Because everything got more expansive inlcuding gigantic leaps in prices from the US to let foreign artists give concerts in the US.
Prices went up from 460 USD per person to 1,615- 1,655 USD per person for VISA applications. That is also a lot more "papework" while it is not even a given that you get it and if you don't want to wait for months you pay extra for fast applications.
BTW BP almost exclusively created CDs like this. But BTS also had the Butter/Permission to Dance CD.
Singles are not that rare.
New jeans are releasing songs for brands, i dont take them seriously as artists 😅

Whether it was in some sort of coordination with SM or the other big labels... the fact is MHJ relied on the relationships between the mainstream media and those companies to try and spread the misinformation about BigHit/Hybe and BTS.
She has claimed to detest media manipulation but she uses it anyway. I'm not sure it IS exactly "manipulation" though. The fact is that the big 3 and the major mainstream Korean media are too tightly connected. The media hasn't been manipulated so much as being complicit.
Those 3 labels controlled KPop until the rise of BTS and they are not going to give up easily. ARMY has been in this fight too long not to know this.
Complicit is the word, definitely. Mainstream K-media is not at all sympathetic to or supportive of BTS, and I can't imagine anything but them leaping on this story gleefully, delighted with another opportunity to spread hostility and negativity about BTS. They didn't get paid by Big Hit for advertising and exposure, the way they did by the Big Three, and they're still very salty that BTS succeeded without them. (Which I'm sure you know, but there are some folk in the comments who might not.)

HYBE is selling those shares because the stocks were going up and SM has blocked them from doing anything/interfering with what they are planing (if they are planing anything for their artists). So they were kinda useless.
But if you sell a lot of shares (or announce it) the prices will go down and some others will also sell. That is how stocks work. (BTW this is the time to BUY stocks because they are likely to go up again and now you have bought cheap)

Because the speculations are up that China will reduce the blocking of K-pop artists in China and SM artists are always doing good in China. They are the label from Korea that does it best in this market.

I saw a video of newjeans where they were doing these old school dances and it reminded me if either Michael Jackson or Boyz To Men or New Edition or even Bobby Brown choregraphy Its great to be "inspired" by groups or artists but at what point are you just "stealing" or copying people?
Yeah it is very thin ice ... But I think choreo is different them movies - MVs. I think it is ok to be inspired in dance, makes moves that have history but aren't used in the same way.
But when you watch something and you think "I saw it somewere" and then you finds out that this somethings looks almost the same but change was made so it would be so obvious, you start to wonder if it is inspiration or lazy work, bc in the end you changed a little somethings that exist and don't care about rest. And you also can be inspired sure, but if the order look and feel is the same but some detials are different how long can you call it inspiration... 🤔
It is had, if I begin honest I think they did inspired/copy too much of content, when people started to show all this old bands and videos wow, so much similar things, but I think they change enough that it isn't copy anymore in their mind...
And decision is in fan court, if they care and look at this different or not and simply let go.

I became interested in New Jeans because when Jungkook was asked what groups he listened to he said New Jeans, so out of curiosity I pulled them up and listen to them. Otherwise, I would never listen to anything that they have created. However, I’m not from South Korea.

When you derive inspiration from music or music group, you have to do your due diligence and give proper homage. I believe that it was so insensitive of New Jeans’ team to show reference to Lisa Lopes’ death. .. it was quite clear in the video . .. . Plagiarism, copying and outright mimic is not right - I have to say that most New Jeans’ songs felt like rehashes of songs of a certain era and the sexualization of these young girls made me uncomfortable. Case in point, their song Bubble Gum - young girls in school uniforms but for me, the vid was quite suggestive - they look cute on the surface but there is an underlying cringe as there is that suggestion of seduction. There will be some or a lot of opposition to my opinions but I felt the need to express them here.
Actually I agree with you and the fact that the K-pop girl groups have so many male followers (not saying all men following them are weird) and for reasons we all know but pretend to not know about, is disgusting to be honest!

FYI, Hybe, is not BTS, label. Big Hit, is there label.
Technically HYBE is not a label at all.
But they do create the environment for the labels and artists and that includes BTS.
Since BTS still makes up about 50% of HYBE's income to defeat HYBE you need to take down (or at least weaken) BTS, too. Because BTS is the reason HYBE exists even now.
They made all that and are still doing so.
So in a way HYBE is BTS's "label".
