Love Kurasu, one of the more reliable online shop to buy made in japan gear you can't get in the USA.

What would you say should a proper grind size be for this recipe on a Commandante C40?

I've used that Cafflano grinder for a year before I got Kinu M47 classic. It's a nice little grinder for those on a budget or as a second grinder for travelers. Both 1zpresso and Timemore are better overall but Cafflano is lightweight and has a nice burr.

Have researched and discovered the paper filters from blue bottle don’t need to be rinsed?

I love kurasu! I had a visit on their Singapore branch and the people were super nice and were very open to talk about nerdy coffee stuff.

the blue bottle filter is made from bamboo fabric to match the design of the flat basket shape's dripper after they test more than a hundred drippers with this final thought to match. the taste from the filter is all about personal preference, for me, I do find the April dripper match well using the bamboo fiber filter better than the one April set. Both April and BB drippers do find very unique use in different ways from brewing, keep exploring the world of taste and sense.

When you mention the brew lacks structure and harmony, what does that mean? I thought the dripper was designed to provide both those qualities so its interesting that you say its the opposite.

It could very well be a combination of the roasted coffee that we are using. We assume the brewer is designed to suit their style of roasting the best.

hm i find the april brewer always brews like this. So very fast in the beginning and slowing down significantly after. Tested with c40 and April Filters. Standard recipe . Some Coffees run thru in 1:40 some dense Ethiopian coffee's 5 mins+.

I’ve had a very lightly roasted Ethiopian coffee from blue bottle in NYC, positively surprised! So they can roast light, but I’d say most of their stuff is classically americanly roasted 👍

Thank you for watching Raymond. With this paper filter we recommend rinsing it well.

Blue bottle is 68% owned by Nestlé. With the abundance of drippers on the market I'll spending my money elsewhere thankyou very much.
