I've been roaming through your old GH videos (thank you) - and this is an entire saga that I never saw. It's pretty powerful, and awful.
Genie was truly immersed in Laura's madness- brilliant and draining for her. Whew.
I too have started watching the videos, loving all the episodes(years)! Thanks for uploading for all GH fans!!
Because of GF‘s exit and TG‘s staying on they had to write something to separate them and to end their common story which would be hard to watch anyway. But to tell a story where Laura doesn't even remember their life together anymore is really the height of cruelty (I had to think of the Alzheimer film „Away from Her“) and if the writers did that on purpose they are really the Masters of Evil.
Whose idea was it anyway? In view of how TG in later years thought about the L&L story… It would be really worth of a supervillain…
But I‘ll stop trying to be witty, it's all too sad...
Just watching this now and this is beyond cruel to the history
Watching writers hack away with this epic story. first with the ethan thing, then he didn't want marriage and kids, then the tracy "love of his life crap" was painful, had to stop watching.
hey sus...it has been a while! hope you are doing well. First off, THANK YOU. I was knee-deep into my career and had no idea Luke and Laura had SO MUCH story through the 90s and 2000s. I am getting caught up, thanks to you. Having watched the L&L stories, I can see exactly why this happened to Laura. It really was inevitable, given her history which started at a VERY young and tender age. She couldn't take one more thing in her head. She couldn't do it. So she left her head. Sometimes that is a good thing but she took it to the nth degree. And Luke could not follow. This is really painful. But I am glad TPTB wrote it this way. Laura is now the town Mayor. And she couldn't be without every, single thing that happened in her past. Her past finally gave her strength. Go Laura! Luke....get off that boat in Amsterdam and come back for a brief stint. Personally, since Luke is gone....I want her to get with Scorpio. They have always had chemistry. ♥

Scott, This Dr and Helena Cassidine working together are the only explanations possible for this story line.
Oh I made a comment on the ABC board that Laura would be loosing it knowing Lulu was going to CARLY to get advice. UGH. Someone slammed me for it. They obviously know nothing about when GH was actually GOOD!!

Anybody who had any relationship with these characters at all would have had to be made of stone for this not to severely affect them! It was COMPLETELY heart breaking.. and when they are pushing her away and she looked at him with no regard at all.. which I think must have been hard for GF, because all those two have to do is look at eachother and you feel the connection.... for it NOT to be there was so depressing.. Luke's pain was palpable. ..... and Genie played crazy like nobody else could.
I've never seen this, OMG heartbreaking, incredible acting by Genie. Is this after the Cassadine saga? Who was Laura marrying, I thought she and Luke were divorced but he keeps calling her his wife. Help, hard to piece this together.
Yes, after Cassadine saga. L&L were going to be remarried but this plot line interrupted that. I think calling her his wife was just habit from first marriage.

@1964nickel I think Luke has thought that during their whole relationship... the doctor reinforcing it certainly had to hit him hard. I agree.. I think there was a lot of things at play, or could be shown to have been at play, certainly guilt and insecurity!

TG & GF kill me in these scenes!
The lack of mother -daughter relationships is blaringly obvious since the start of the Guza era... he doens't do mother's. I loved Laura and Lesley's relationship and so wish for it now with Laura and Lulu and I love Laura as a mother to her boys... but Guza thinks it's not hip or sexy or something. He ha no clue why we watch the show.... obviously! Where the hec is Anna for Robin.. no she is getting advice from a mob king ?!?!? HUH.
She has gone completely round the bend....sad
