I have custom built a custom made scroll saw head for my King saw that using the standard Hegner clamp setup in a unique way. The end result is great, I will create a TH-cam video on how it runs.
Thanks for the video. Very informative. They say on the Hegner website that it has bearings to allow the blade to move a tad, like the standard clamps. They say don’t tighten the standard clamps to let the blade move a little. But I can’t see any sign of bearings. Does it have some ? Thanks again. Nice focus 👍
Unfortunately I purchased a King scroll saw last year and I have been very unhappy with my inability to see the clamping action. Frequently getting a bad clamp up. Being a machinist I am making totally new top and bottom clamp heads. The clamp action will be with the Hegner block set at 90 degrees. I can totally see the clamp action. I realize that one mans poison maybe another mans pleasure. I would like to put this on a future TH-cam video. I have considered the Pegas clamps that might be acceptable, but I had a Steve Jobs moment and felt I could do better. Happy clamping.
I agree. Seeing the clamping action is important. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be in low-light situations. Having the blade slot facing forward rather than down makes it so much easier to see what's going on. The blade slot itself also encourages correct blade alignment.
The Pegas clamps I've seen look similar to the Dewalt clamping system. I don't know if they make anything for Hegner saws. The Hegner QuickClamp is functionally similar to the Dewalt clamp though it looks very different.
Possible for send to me like this type clamp
Ini bagus.apa cocok di scrol saw makita pak?

Hi John, would be great if you could share your idea. I've just bought an old Hegner which needs a top clamp upgrade.

Presently I am working on my proof of concept design, if I am happy with the design, I will share.
I put Pegas clamps on my Excalibur and they are great. I'm not familiar with Hegner but you might look into it.
