You are a good man, wonderful video, I have bought a new scroll saw and I have the same problem with the blade coming off, a friend of mine is trying to make this conversion..thanks a lot... from Malta.
Oh my... I bought a single clamp from Axminster some 2 years ago and was very disappointed it didn't get into alignment with the original bottom half. Bumped into your vid and only now I understand I should've bought a pair. Thanks for the tutorial!
thanks mate, i have just bought my first ever scroll saw and wanted to put wire blades on, my saw is einhell too, so your reply was welcomed by me. Thanks
Thanks for this. Was getting fed up with pinless blades when doing the fret saw part but these will make life more pleasant. They WILL fit my cheap Aldi saw one way or another. Will see how easy when I order them.
@@SCRAPWOODTOCRAFTWOOD Didn't realise that they also held pinned blades too. Fit easy to Aldi Scroll saw and loads better than old bleep.... Thanks for putting me onto them.
Mate! That was so useful. My scroll saw has been doing my head in with that bottom fixing keep falling off when threading the blade through the workpiece. I've just ordered some from Axminster. Thank you so much and I've just subscribed. Cheers.
You replied in one of the other comments that you were going to replace the socket head capscrew with a thumb screw. In this application I would be very concerned about adding weight to something that reverses direction 30 times or more per second. That just adds to the stresses and increases vibration. Otherwise, a nice conversion.
I bought a Ryobi. It is set up to use both pinned and pinless. I had seen a revue where a buyer was unable to get the clamps to tighten down enough to hold the thin pinless blades. MIne had the same problem. I removed the clamps (that closely resemble yours) and squeezed them tight in a vice. I was able to permanently close the gap enough so that the tightening screw could get the jaws to grip both sides of the blade.
Thank you so much. I swear I spent more time with those ridiculous clamps than I did scroll sawing. I was about to throw it through the goddam window til I saw your video!!xx
Yes it is definitely worth the investment to upgrade it saves som much time without having to replace the bottom holder each time you need to feed the blade through an inside cut thank you for your comment 👍
Hi , just bought a scheppach so 1600f model. I noticed on your saw that you have some tape on your insert. My insert does not fit flat , it keeps jumping up off the table. Have you any suggestions to fix it. Could send it back but I don’t really want to do that. Thanks for any help. John
Just fitted mine and the adapter snapped first go at tightening. I didn't over tighten either. Hopefully it was just a bad batch as I really want this to work. Thanks for the video anyways
hello, I'm Anselmo and I'm Brazilian, living in Brazil ..! Here in Brazil you can't find this adapter or the circular blades to buy.! And on the website mentioned by you, it is not available ..! Is there another place where I can buy?
I adapted an Aldi workzone saw with these ..ordered spares because the first couple broke quite fast when tightening ..Seen someone say when you put the blade in make sure it hits the screw before tightening and this seems to make them last a lot longer ..
Hi there, Thanks for your video on the blade conversion, however please let your watchers know that some of the modifications/adaptors are not as well made as they could be. Both of the adaptors broke when clamping in the blade. I was just nipping it tight not overtightening. They have broken in different places too. Perhaps the design needs looking into. Regards
Exactly the same happened to me. They’re made of brittle cast metal and yet the design is clearly designed to have some flex - bonkers. Still wishing there was a decent aftermarket system, it surely can’t be that difficult.
@@SCRAPWOODTOCRAFTWOOD Hello Bonney lad postman just been packaged from administer and it is fantastic it is like a new tool thanks for the great tip 🍻🍻👌👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you very much for the presentation it is very informed by the video !!! The ugly new is that you are not available and I can not find it! Always be well!!!
Hi there I use mainly 5 reverse tooth or 7 reverse tooth and I get them online from here they are excellent blades www.alwayshobbies.com/tools/power-tools/reverse-tooth-fretsaw-blades-for-wood-pack-of-12
Tried to order these. Seems like a nice conversion. However, the shipping cost to the US is almost 3X the cost of the part. Took a pass... Good to know this before you, too, go through the ordering process.
Alright mate. Totally new to scroll sawing. literally just picked one up the other day, thought I'd give it ago. I keep hearing i should use pinless, and seeing as you know your shit about this subject, thought I'd ask for some advice. The saw I have is the Red Eye Mac Allister COD120LSS. Could you possibly recommend what pin less adaptor I would need to convert this saw please. Thanks for the video anyway, very well constructed and informative mate!
These are the blades j have used for years there excellent blades last well and cheap www.alwayshobbies.com/tools/power-tools/reverse-tooth-fretsaw-blades-for-wood-pack-of-12
How are you getting on with these Axminster clamps? I converted my stroll saw a year or so ago much as you did and I've had one of the clamps jam shut so I struggled to get the blade back in. After a bit wedging a stanley knife into the gap and cracking on I heard a CLICK! it broke behind the alen bolt :( I'm hoping it's not proper cast iron and is just compressed powdered chinesium so I can put a weld tack on the back to fix it (Axminster are out of stock currently).
I fitted these blade adapters to my scroll saw because they still have the notches for pinned blades. So you can use either pinned or unpinned. I don't know why they don't fit these as standard as everybody I know ends up purchasing these adapters.
Haha cheers pete I'm going to see if I can get a thumb screw for it but if not you can definitely sort me out with a weld and as for the hair next video I'll be bald for sure just been flat out not had time
Just fitted the new clamps from Axminster to my Record scroll saw, the mod works really well. Thanks for sharing
Glad it helped you out thanks for your comment mate

Definitely mate I did well with the other pinless holders I had but they were failing more all the time so that's why I replaced them

David i used a button magnet to hold the bottom blade holder in place and it works great
I can’t see why anyone wouldn’t do this, brilliant especially for the price!

Hello Warren , am i the only person to snap the adaptor by tightening it up too much ?
Do you have the old type or the new system I have just put on maybe you just put too much pressure on it or could have been a weak metal possibly
