From a military perspective; "If I was a terrorist organisation, I'd be living in a state of fear". "The psychological effect of this, as well as the practical effect, is very impressive", with no accounting for disproportionate human injury and fatalities. If Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran or Lebanon or any other Arab state had been blamed for exploding Israeli pagers, causing this much harm to civilians, the West would be screaming "despicable act of terrorism". If this is an Israeli attack, and if it is seen as a bodacious move, where does this level of danger in our every day technology leave the rest of us?

If the exploding lithium battery hypothesis turns out to be true, well then, we are all watching these videos on our own personal bombs we are carrying around with ourselves. Before long dozens of organizations both government organizations and non-governmental will be able to figure out the same technology. 5 years from now these bombs might be going off everywhere.

It's not true and never was true. It's just nonsense spread by ignorant people. These were tampered pagers with an explosive charge, even Hezbollah have admitted this.

As a chemical engineer who previously worked with battery technologies, I can say that batteries in our personal devices do not have enough energy to explode in the way seen. They would never have been allowed if this was possible. Explosives were inserted into the devices.

To start off with first pagers are radio receivers only and can't be tracked they will have a low power draw on there batteries, so this will leave room to put in a smaller capacity battery and what ever else was added, with these pagers that were being used it'll be interesting to know how often they were recharged compared to a non tempered pager of the same model.

"There is a serious issue, as to the legality of this attack." That is the jaw-dropping headline to this LBC broadcast. In the description.. the awesome gaslighting continues.. "Israel has been BLAMED for a TARGETTED attack on Hessbollah members, using TINY amounts of explosives." NO!!!! There is no issue of legality. This was the single, most unprecedented, indiscriminate Terror attack ever witnessed. If you have a mobile phone or a pager YOU are a potential target. Do YOU think it should be legal to boobytrap YOUR phone with a TINY amount of explosives?
