These are the sermons I enjoy, w/references to sciences (or literature based lectures). However, I'd like to believe that there is local assistance to the homeless & hungry. People hopeless. Lonely. Actual congregants inconvenience themselves to physically help s'one else.

Really a thought provoking sermon and teaching. Thank you for your studying of the Word and the church Fathers and leading us into a deeper relationship with Jesus.

I have a small argument with the Mary and Martha story in that I believe that since Jesus came to change the old ways that he and his disciples should have gone to the kitchen and helped Martha - some of the disciples were fishermen and knew how to cook, at least fish!!!

I've used these four scriptures to open a Bible study I lead at Church. The study deals with The New Covenant Reality vs the old covenant mentality and in these scriptures we see the contrast. Martha is trying to impress Jesus (old covenant mentality), while Mary is being impressed by Jesus!!!! Marthas' o.c.m. causes her to be judgmental and point out her perceived short comings of Mary. But Jesus corrects her and makes it clear Mary knows the better way and it can't be taken away from her. This is exactly what happens to us when we recognize Gods Grace In Christ vs legalism or religion!!!!

Actually, it makes me depressed that people are so wrapped up in greed & envy. Sabotage & slander each other. Metaphoric murders.

So s'how, Martha couldn't hear Jesus, too? It's a nice support for educating women, not that the church supports it. Good that the disciples weren't astute enough to pick up on how often Jesus treated women as if they have value.
